Keep CarHome Ultra running - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi!
I've run into a problem where when having the s3 in my infuse car dock, I have carhome ultra pop up. On the carhome app, if I open up pandora or waze, I can't get back to carhome unless I open it from the apps.
On my droid x, I could pull the windowshade down and choose the cardock app. If I pull the shade down, I only get the option to exit the car mode. Is there a way to drop the shade and go back into CarHome Ultra?
Thanks!

[Q] NSCollab 1.0.34 - Widget Issue

Hey, I just installed this new rom via rom manager (1400mhz overclock, woot!)
and I can't install shortcuts or widgets on any screen. And when I do it through the menu button, I can't get rid of them. I can't drag it to trash, can't edit via longpress and can't even stop via manage apps (force stop, clear data still leave widget on homepage.)
Any thoughts?
Edit: Nexus S, btw...

lost dock moe after 2.3.4 update

Hi...pretty upset here...
it took me forever to find and use the dock mode on the sensation by adding the link to the lock screen since you cant access the dock mode icon from anywear else.
but i just updated to 2.3.4 via tmobile, and after reboot the icon was removed from the lock screen, and now it doesnt show on the app list when you try to put it back.
i do know that dock mode is still ON the device since i can access it through googles car mode ( where i added it as a shortcut IN that program)
what gives.. i mean seriously do they hate home dock mode so much?
Odd. I just updated and still have a "Dock Mode" in my apps drawer.
hows that possible? unless your not stock rom? maybe i should have mentioned that.. im on stock tmobile rom. the ONLY way i can get to the dock app shortcut was to go to my lock screen set up, and add it to one of the 4 icons that can be placed on the lock screen. but after update not only was it auto removed from my lock screen, its not in the apps list when adding to my lock screen ( it was NEVER in my regular apps list)
i cant see that app any wear else... can you?
I think people are having the same problem with the phone quick launch. There is a thread about that issue.
I imagine they will have an update to fix this soon.
Yup. Same here on stock. Car Mode, Dock Simulator, Car Panel (euro sense 3)all show as options but no Dock Mode but it still launches for me automatically in the dock. Just use Car Mode to launch it. Has a nicer icon anyway.
my dock mode is gone also i can launch it from titanium back up and works fine
but it will not let me install from the back up
Did you check with Larry and Curly ?

Abandoning GoSMS?

I've had this Samsung S3 for six months now rooted with stock AT&T JB ROM. I'm starting to use the phone in the car more and am perplexed how difficult I'm finding it to do some pretty simple, commonly useful things. Here's what I'm trying to achieve:
- When phone connects to bluetooth in car, to on Car Mode and Driving Mode
I already use Llama and turning on Car Mode is easy. Driving Mode looks like I have to use a custom Android Intention (haven't tried it yet)
1. Replace lock screen (currently using Widget Locker) with Car Dashboard for easy app launch and forwarding of songs being played in Power Amp, Spotify or Pandora. Strange that Llama toggles Car Mode but the toggle on the OS is "Driving mode" Seems Driving Mode controls TTS activation and Car Mode toggles the Car Mode app. I think this is just the problem with Touchwiz not being "Android Standard" functionality?
2. Make it so I don't have to press a button to wake phone but don't eat battery with screen usage. The only Car app I've found that comes close to this is the iBOLT Dock'n Drive app where you set the screen brightness slider all the way down and it just shows a clock jumping around the screen. I don't even want the stupid clock - but I guess it's nice to know the phone is in car mode waiting for me to touch the screen. Unfortunately music controls are not on this dash app and the Car app with Pandora integration (forget the name) doesn't have the blank the screen mode without sleeping.
3. When a text comes in, I want either (a) and auto-response that I'm driving and to call me if its urgent, or BETTER, (b) allow me to speak "reply" and do a voice to text response or "auto response" to send my auto response. S-voice allows you to say 'reply' but only if the text comes in when the S-voice app is the currently opened app. If phone is sleeping and text comes in, all it does is read the text. Disabling widget locker and having no lockscreen slider made no difference.
Sidenote: I've also discovered on the S3, because I don't use S-Voice, (I have home double tap mapped to Google Voice Search), the TTS doesn't work. If I manually launch S Voice once, then TTS works but if I remove it from the background apps list then no TTS. That's sort of a side issue.
4. If car mode is enabled, on GoSMS I don't need a pop-up. Just TTS. But GoSMS still thinks I haven't seen the message. So even though I heard the message GoSMS keeps pinging me with a reminder (which I do want repeat reminders for unread texts when NOT in car/driving mode) Strangely there is no Car/Driving mode settings in GoSMS. Surprising. And the Auto Response has to therefore be manually toggled.
It appears I may have to add some 3rd party apps to achieve what I want and possibly dump GoSMS - I've also found that CloudSMS (to replicate SMS to my tablet) doesn't work with GoSMS running. Boo. Hiss. I GoSMS is such a superior SMS program in most all other respects. Hate to see it go.
Seems what I'm asking to do shouldn't be so complicated. With all Google's resources, I'm surprised this isn't all built-in to Android and easily used.
Getting close. Turned off option on GoSMS to disable other messaging notifications (fixed CloudSMS issue).
Found two promising apps:
SMS+Car - Does the job but the it doesn't use the native Google voice recognition and more importantly doesn't read calendar reminders. What it DOES do is mark the SMS messages it reads as read!
Enhanced SMS + Caller ID+ - This is the better app, it cleaner, more options, used native Google voice recognition. It's missing one thing though, DOESN'T MARK THE SMS AS READ! Dealbreaker.
Search continues...

[Q] Edge Ringer & Nova Launcher Help?

1. I loved when using the phone the phone call would ring on the edge panel, since the recent update it pops up on screen (not the edge), any way to have the phone ringing on the edge only?
2. I've been a long time Nova user, it's been crashing a lot lately. I'm assuming it's because I have the flip cover case and when closed the edge panel lights up causing Nova launcher to crash. Anyone with Nova crashing issue?
What version? I have sprint, and the latest update does not remove edge ringer and NOVA launcher works great for me. I don't have the flip cover car though.
Thanks. I have the TMobile.

Settings scroll all the way to the bottom to call (click it). Then call related popups...
You are awesome! Thanks.
Btw I figured out the problem, under setting accessibility I turned on Voice command causing the call to pop up full screen.

In car, while on call, can't switch back to maps...

I have a new Note 20 Ultra and today while driving I was on a call and I tried to switch back to maps during the call and everytime map opened on screen (launching it either the task manager button or the shortcut I have on home screen) The phone app would immediately force its away back on the screen blocking the ability to view the map
I am using Nova launcher - not sure if related

Thanks. Should I have "keep calls in popup" toggled on ? Does the mini pop up have a speaker button?
