I want to return my HOX to completely stock but I have it network unlocked with T-Mobile does returning to stock relock network? And what should I use to return stock if I wanna reroot afterwards?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Returning to stock does not affect SIM unlock status. If you change ROMs, it does not change SIM unlock status. SIM unlock status is completely independent from your ROM.
If you want to sim lock just boot into fastboot and Press Simlock.

Check your CID or try a different networks sim card.
Trying a different sim was obvious, lol. I don't know anybody to have a micro sim. Cid is HTC_032...

Hi, I've read and searched about rooting or unlocking a refurbished phone should be okay to do, i just want to know for sure if I will be okay. My one x is refurbished and would like to know if I can install viper Rom with no troubles, will I be able to unlock bootloader and flash custom recovery? I just want to be safe

Re: Root question
Depends if you get an att refurbished phone with 3.18 update installed. If you did you can't root.

Well I miss lead on my title, I'll change that in a minute, yes I'm on 3.18 and would that hinder me from unlocking bootloader?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Is it an AT&T phone?
If so, you can't unlock the bootloader, and thusly you cannot root.
Sent from my HTC One XL
Yeah :/ it's at&t lol so I guess I'll have to wait to do this. But if and when I do, should I run into any problems being that I now own a Refurbished phone?

Shouldnt make a difference.

The fact that it's refurbished has no bearing over whether or not it's rootable.
The main point of the question was if I should or shouldn't... If they didn't reset the bootloader or main circuit board I can end up with another brick. That's what I'm trying to avoid this time

There's no reason to not s-off lol. It's very simple to do and takes like 5 minutes.
Okay as far as I know this device (AT&T Evita ) can only be SIM unlocked by vendors on eBay or asking AT&T for the unlock code. Am I right ?
Only thing is, is that I bought this phone for $60 off a friend, yeah I know, very cheap. Only because he upgraded to the iPhone 5. And now I own the device and have it on AT&T Pre-Paid plan and I know the only other service I can put this on is a Straight Talk with the a AT&T Compatible SIM without the unlock code ..... But my over all question is can I call up AT&T and ask for the code since this device has Clean ESN and is no longer in there system due too an upgrade?
Sent from my HTC One XL using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You should have no problems getting an unlock code. Keep in mind that it'll need to be on a Sense ROM for the unlock code to work.

As far as I know, it doesn't matter that it isn't an at&t ROM, as long as it's Sense.
