I loved this ROM on my Infuse back when I had it and have been looking for a stable build that is fully functioning/bugless (for the most part anyways)... However there is very little info here on this ROM and the info that I have read is negative, mentioning bad MMS, cant add contacts ect etc....
Anyone still running this? Any feedback is much appreciated, thanks in advance!
Talk to lithium he is working on miui for a ton of phones but his testers for skyrocket give him inconsistent feedback making him reluctant to release builds if you go to miui.us and go to their chats you can catch him under a different name

running the most recent build for us. Its nice actually. Contacts bug isnt a big issue at all. For themes to work just run a terminal command and they work fine. Untill cm10 gets the camera more stable Im going to stay on this.
I used to use it as a daily driver.
Then Jelly Bean came along.
MIUI is seriously one of the best ROMs I have ever used. The dynamic notification system is the best part about it, as well as the beautiful UI.
There are also a lot of themes you can apply. You can ever pick and choose which parts of what theme you want to use.
It's also really smooth. Once you use MIUI, it's hard to leave.
And from a stability point of view, it's perfectly fine to use as a daily driver. I had very few crashes.

I used it for a short while until it seemed to stop getting updated. Lack of communication from testers makes sense as to why. Have since moved to aokp, in which I love.

Sucks its not getting updated, visually MIUI has no competition, ive literally tried everything and asethetics are extremely important to me.... Eevery JB/ICS rom ive used just looks like a kids toy in the UI... And Zeam, why doesnt it look the same when you install zeam on MIUI versus any other rom?
Do you have lte data issues with aokp.?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727
I used to, but recently I switched to Sky-ICS with a MIUI launcher theme. I just didn't see the appeal of it when there are other ROMs that give the device much more attention.
7/07 build was great... havent tried the 7/29 yet: http://goo.im/miui/skyrocket

another way is to turn on root permissions, then use root explorer to set permissions for /data/system/theme. Make sure everyone has r/w/e. All 9 boxes checked. chmod 777 is the terminal command I believe. But wait til the guys chime in to be sure.

For themes to work, run these commands in terminal:
su
mkdir /data/system/theme
chmod 777 /data/system/theme
cd /system/etc/init.d
The mkdir command will give an error, just keep going, then try applying a theme after, and it should work.
Being a ROM flashing addict I've been debating whether to give MIUI a go, this thread pretty much convinced me. Thanks guys.

Nah, I like it. I just hate when the lock screen and some apps appear only in chinese. Other than that the theme I love and tried to mix from has rainbow lines in that are fugging annoying.

Just switched to a TBolt from OG Incredible. Was running cm7 on it, and loved it. Just wanted some idea as to the best version of cm7 for Tbolt and any other things to make it run better. Any help would be appreciated. I kinda dont have time to read thru 10000 posts in the cm7 topic...
Welcome.
I don't think you're going to get a ton of help with a first post like that, but you might want to check out the CM7 links from the forum post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081930
There are also a couple posts at the top of here and the Q&A subforum about what roms people prefer.
I don't have CM7 on my thunderbolt, but on a different device. In general, CM7 is stable enough such that the recent nightlies, if not the latest, are usually the best. However, currently most of the CM dev work is focused on ICS/CM9.
I just came from dinc last week. I had senae 3.5 on mine, though ive flashed every dinc rom ever available. You may want to try a sense rom, i was shocked how smooth 3.5 mikrunny is on this, and it all works. I will try some aosp roms soon, there is a cool one with ics theme, pretty slick. Just experiment dude, this phone rocks.

If you don't need MMS, I highly recommend MIUI. On the other hand, fully featured and most awesomely completely customizable - Gingeritis 3D. I personally switched from Gingeritis to AOSP recently, better battery life and faster performance but you can't use VZW apps. I'm currently running on Thundershed CM7 nightly and I will probably run this until CM9.

You need to go to a Sense based ROM and connect to GPS, then flash (while still connected) to a AOSP ROM to fix GPS permanently.
Also I'm not sure why you're having those WiFi issues; try deleting the WiFi and DHCP folders, I forget where theyre located. I suppose running fix permissions wouldn't hurt, hahaha, I know people hate that response.

Big thanks to designgears from rootzwiki for this leak & ks0 for bringing it to my attention:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/23105-i727ucld2/
I'm from the T989 side. I was pretty excited for this, turned it into a CWM so enjoy
There are no T989 specific tweaks at all on this. I didn't change anything but what I say below.
*THIS IS A STOCK BUILD...with all AT&T and Samsung software UNTOUCHED*
I took it, extracted it (<3 WinHex), and turned it into a CWM flashable ZIP.
Aside from that, I added root and busybox to it.
Its fresh...built April 7
I have nowhere to host it...so here is a torrent.
If you can mirror it that would be good.
Initial downloading may be slow since I'm the only seeder for now.
(update: +2 more )
UPDATE
Flash these two fixes after flashing this ROM but before booting:
Root fix - Ignore the error after flashing this...then just go into Superuser and update after bootup
The attached UCLD2FontHotfix.zip to fix Facebook and Samsung keyboard
Run Fix permissons after flashing the above 3 fixes ^^
Cheers

Cool, thanks. Let me know what comes up. What seems to be a problem, what seems to be broken, how the GUI looks.
if anyone knows how to disable the power saver feature, so that your screen and keyboard don't get all dark once you hit 15 or 10% battery, and also so that you can still use your camera at 10% battery, I think it would be cool. not sure if this power saver annoys other people or not, lol, but there were ROMs for the Epic 4G that had this tweak, but I never found out how it was done.
Your skype version doesn't work properly. The advance features crash the app. Also just a sidenote the skype is for gingerbread not froyo so that's probably why

You may be unfamiliar with Android but usually there is an app in the Play Store that can do whatever you want whereas in iOS that may not always be the case. Need a new gallery app? Search the Play Store. Need a file manager? Search the Play Store. Need a calendar app? Search the Play Store. You should get my point now.

CM10 is pretty good, I'd still be running it now but I was having issues with battery life. I'd lose about 15-17% or so overnight with my phone in deep sleep. I'm on AOKP now and stop far it's better on my batt with the majority of the same features, more even. It does have the sms mod too.
Paranoid Android has the same features too, as do the majority of AOSP roms. I personally like PA and Liquid Smooth, and on my phone PA is the more stable of the 2. I for some reason just didn't like CM10, even though that's what PA and Liquid are based off of..... anyway, the jist of it is you ought to just test em all out, cause what's stable for one person may be extremely unstable for another.

Turns or I was wrong, AOKP doesn't have the popup, but neither does this one. It did give me an idea to which seemed to work for me. I just extracted the mms.apk file from a CM10 nightly and installed it.
I'll Dropbox it in a minute since Tapatalk doesn't let you attach anything except pictures.
Use a root browser and find system/apps/mms.apk (or secmms.apk if you're on TW) and rename it with a .bak on the end. Put the new file in the same place and make sure it's got the she permissions. Reboot and you should be golden.

Wow thanks so much for the help this is indeed exactly what I was looking for!

I installed it but is keeps saying messaging has stopped will I keep the name Mms or change it to SecMms.apk which is what my original was named also what was the she permissions you were talking about thanks?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
You will re-name it to whatever was originally in that folder. I believe all AOSP ROMs it is called Mms.apk and Touchwiz is SecMms.apk.
Far as the permissions, which it sounds like what might be causing your problem, depending on the root browser you are using(I use the one in ROM Toolbox) the format of the permissions you will want it to have are either "rw-r--r--" or "read" for 'Owner', 'Group' and 'Others' then "write" for 'Owner' only and "execute" for none. Or the final format would be 0644
Those are the three different ways that permissions are displayed.
---------- Post added at 02:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:50 PM ----------
I was just thinking, if the whole permissions thing is still confusing after my last post there, I might have thought of something that will do it for you fairly simply.
Replace the apk file as mentioned. Reboot. Then reboot again, into recovery tho. Then go to advanced and click on fix permissions.
A) Not sure 100% if this will work, B) the two reboots may be unnecessary, you may be able to replace and reboot directly into recovery and have it work.
Thanks man ill give it a shot.

What ROM are you trying this on? What file browser are you using? And what steps exactly are you taking that's giving you the errors?
I am using cleanrom 3.0 and esfile as my file manager. I first add. Bak to the original SecMms.apk. Apk and then add the file you gave me and renamed it to SecMms.apk and reboot, the permissions are the same as my original message app. Once the phone boots back up it will get to the loading conversations screen then it tells me that is has stopped working or something like that I am lost and thanks for the help.

Number 1 for me is stability. I am looking for a Rom that fully works or for the most part everything is working. Full camera functionality/flash, Sending and receiving SMS & MMS, GPS (I use navigation often), making and receiving calls, all the basic stuff that work on stock. Stability is my main objective. Second would be battery life & fluidity. Everything else like customization options is a nice bonus
I expected the Jelly Bean OTA to be better than it was. I did a factory reset when I got the update to make sure my phone started fresh. Even formatted internal and external SD card. I just expected a better experience. They took away some things I loved and added some things I don't like. But the main thing that bothers me is the occasional stutter/lag. And I notice battery life is worst on the JB OTA. I thought JB was suppose to be refined, it's not totally buttery smooth like they promote it to be. At least not on the stock Verizon variant of the GS3.
I am looking at "The Executioner" or the CleanRom/CleanRom Lite Edition. Any opinions or thoughts by people who have ran both would be appreciated!! I realize roms, as most things in life are a personal preference but I'd still like to get some opinions.

I take it the rom has no stutters or occasional lag like the stock touchwiz.

I use the CM10 Nightlies. I update about once a week or so. And I have had very minimal issues. When I did run into any, I just updated the next day and the issue was fixed. And you can report bugs to the developers to help expedite the fixes as they come up. Not to mention no more touchwiz, *Gag*

I heard CM roms were great for customization but may not be most stable? I was thinking of trying it anyways. I like the AOSP or pure Google look and feel. I gotta think about it I don't know if I'll have the time to flash an update every day for a bug fix lol. Thank you for the input

I forgot to ask, thing that bothers me most about the recent official JB OTA, I am required to have my GPS turned on to refresh my weather Widgets. Being connected to the net is not enough anymore m after the update, now I need GPS on for some reason? Is this the case for the Executioner Rom or no?

Who cares if there's other threads about the same thing? It's called a forum for a reason. Save your 2 cents for helpful advice.
Anyway I'm thinking of switching to executioner rom also. On synergy now.

I tried that and it worked, thanks! How much screen time are you averaging on the Executioner Rom?

That's sick! What are you undervolting it to? And you still said the Rom was fast, I might have to roll with your set up.

Who cares that the mods hate it... Isnt this what the forum is for? To talk about the galaxy s3? At least its not in the wrong section

People spend hours putting together guides, doing reviews, etc. It's frustrating sometimes to see how little effort some people put into utilizing the forum.
It works both ways. These boards would be alot less cluttered if people searched. We're all guilty of it, I'm not preaching. Just know where he coming from.
For example there's a great guide in the android development forum that compares many different roms.
