Has anyone been able to do this? I'm using the previous version of Bean's ROM, but when I enter the dialer code to open the PhoneUtil menu, it just stays black then says "PhoneUtil has stopped." Is this a ROM specific problem or is there something I'm missing here?

I use a ROM that doesn't appear to have the software for *#*#8778#*#* QPST Modem built in. I have to flash to the stock ROM if I want to change the PRL.
Does anyone know if it's possible to drop in an APK or something to enable this?
Curious about this too as it is the reason i stopped using MIUI rom. Couldn't access EPST menus.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G
Do you have Sprintmenu.apk installed? If not, install that and try again.
Curious OP, what rom are u using?
SprintMenu.apk is in /system
I'm using Deck's 1.3d.
I tried all the ICS flavours on captivate, finally ended to stock KK4, then I decided to try WeUI rom. After installing the ROM, I get an error message of MM#6.
I went to stock I897UCJF6 using one click download; still I am having the same problem of MM#6
I tried restoring to stock KK4 again. Unfortunately, I am still stuck at error MM#6.
I saw IMEI is changed to default not the actual number found at the back of phone. Tried restoring the IMEI using the other thread in development category. MM#6 error still exists.
I can see the signal bars in the phone, but I cant receive or make calls.
PLEASE HELP !
Please don't make double post just because you're frantic.

Trying repairing your IMEI to be the original assigned to the phone.

I got my original IMEI back on Galaxy S (after I tried ICS custom rom) with this procedure:
1. Delete all 2 nv_* files in "etc" folder
2. Reboot into download mode
3. Flash back to gingerbread 2.3 XXJVU stock or possibly back to eclair 2.1
4. To me it worked and I got my original IMEI now restored.
5. I am not kidding that's how I got it really fix from my 47000000...XX funny looking IMEI.
You can try this procedure and hope it works for you like it worked for me.

Try that.
I've been using 4.0.4 AOKP on my P500, but I now need to unlock my phone..
I have a code, but it seems that it's not possible to get into the Unlock menu unless you're running a stock ROM.
The problem is that basically everything on my phone is updated - baseband, firmware, rooted, etc. and on AOKP, the USB drivers don't work properly so I can't downgrade. (Or so it seems that they don't work...)
I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to help me come up with some way to either scale back down to a firmware that's known to have a working unlock menu, or stock.
I've been trying to get the FRG83 package to flash from recovery (clockwork), but after it boots, it just goes into an endless "System settings has crashed" loop.
I'm thinking the key is to get to a firmware that has known working USB drivers that's on the new baseband, then use KDZ to flash a direct-download version of the stock froyo/gingerbread ROM. Can anyone suggest specifics?
Thanks for any advice anyone may have.

Search up your usb files in google might help:/ or just reflash a rom maybe I don't know though!:/
I've been trying lots of reflashes of AOKP and stock. Perhaps I should try a different computer and install the appropriate drivers and everything.
I would like to know as well
> need to flash using KDZ updater.. now you can download your specific KDZ here look for your country and the appropriate KZD :http://www.todomovillg.es/elforodehomero/index.php?topic=319.0
Try using KDZ while the phone is in the emergency mode. I think you can boot up to emergency mode using back+vol up+power, or something like that. Just search and you'll find out. The drivers should work irrespective of the ROM installed in the phone.
Ok, I'll try it out with KDZ, thanks guys.
Does anyone happen to know if V20 (official gingerbread?) runs on the old or the new baseband?
Official gingerbread is new baseband, official froyo is old
While it's related to my other topic, I figured this is an entirely different problem and warrants a new one...
Basically I tried to check things out with QPST, to see if the previous owner of my Photon Q messed something up in there ad broke the wifi that way.
The problem is, that I have no clue how to enable the diag port on my phone.
As in... I'm aware of the menu accessible through ##3424#, but that only works on stock firmware and well, to quote my other topic:
I bought an almost new and (supposedly) bricked Photon Q off of ebay, to be modded by CornholioGSM, and I'm having some issues.
First of all, of course it wasn't really bricked, yet I don't know what the previous owner did to it.
It's supposedly a Sprint one, but when I fastboot-flash the official Sprint fw to it, it locks up at the end of the boot animation on 4.0.4.
With the latest official Sprint 4.1.2 sbf, it boots up, but during the initial setup keeps going "OMADMClient_Sprint_DataService has stopped" and "process com.android.phone has stopped"
I tried the CSpire 4.1.2 and it boots up with that, but MEID and everything is 0
If I flash CM10 (no difference if I choose the stable 10.1 or the nightly 10.2) over the 4.1.2 Sprint one it seems to work, but the problem is that I don't have wifi on either fw. The wifi button is greyed out and there's no MAC. (MEID and stuff is visible with CM10)

So yeah... any idea how to even enable the diag port, if I can't even get to the dialer in stock fw?
Hey all, so I got this problem where on most custom roms I get this message when trying to call someone or send a text message. I've tried the most obvious solutions and none of them helped me (Manually changing network operator, turing radio off/on). I'm currently using Unofficial Temasek's CM 13 on which it works, but when I tried o flash some different rom it didn't work nor on the stock rom, so I just restored my backup and it works again. I'd love to find a solution since I really want to change this rom, I'm using Lenovo A536. Thanks for help!
Does like anyone even know any solutions?
Turns out the problem was just invalid IMEI so it works fine now
