While it was leaked days prior, Google made their official announcement that the new Google Services update would come fully packed with Google's own massively social gaming medium (which, BTW, is far more ambitious than iOS GameCenter).
Looks like developers were notified of this well beforehand because there were many instances during the Google I/O Conference where game updates including all this were happening!
So far, the games I know of that make use of Google Play Games are:
• 5 tiles
• A2Z
• RPG Avabel Online
• Ball Maze
• Beach Buggy Blitz
• Chip Chain
• Circulo
• Cosmic Defense
• Eternity Warriors 2
• Eufloria
• eyelord
• Farm Invasion USA
• gunslugs
• GRave Defense HD
• hungry slims
• Ice World Labirynth
• kingdom rush
• mega run
• memory temple
• Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour
• No gravity
• numbers plus games
• Osmos
• PBA bowling challenge
• Plague inc.
• plasma sky
• riptide GP
• rocket island
• save the puppies
• shine runner
• stick stunt biker 2
• super stickman golf 2
• townsmen
• triple town
• Unblock 2 escape
• war of wizards
• Wind-up Knight
• World of Goo
• Zookeeper Battle
EDIT: Impressions video!
I'm one of those weird people who actually enjoy a little trophy/achievement hunting every now and then.... so you can only imagine how infuriating it's been trying to find something stable that fits this desire. One thing I do like about my old 4th gen iDevice is that this was established early, and done really nicely with GameCenter. It's the best mobile form of social network-oriented gaming with achievements, friends and such.
On Android, there's no equivalent... so what happens on Android when no one source will step out and make something dominant? Clones, and loads of clones... none of which work with a lot of games. Swarm is useless, OpenFeint hasn't worked "right" since January, no one gives two damns about HeyZap... and this new GREE thing (OpenFeint v2) is the buggiest, most unstable, most resource-hogging, battery destroying trainwreck yet.
Now there definitely has been talk that Google wants to create an Android equivalent to Apple's GameCenter; but even with that rumor in the grapevine, introducing a new standard is no easy task (especially this late in the game). It means hell for developers, and means they have to go through the trouble of updating their stuff just to keep up with the shiny new thing... but I also see an opportunity here to breathe life into Google+.
What would you guys think of Google Plus simply getting an update that integrates Achievements/Gamerscores? It already has friends, circles, and some very nice forms of communication that are mostly ignored due to it's current "backseat to Facebook" status.

Yes that is a modded/blurred-out version of my G+ profile, and I really did get up at 2am to put this together... because I had a dream about this that seemed so awesome (in my head, anyway) that I had to break out my (sub-par at best) photo editing skills to make a concept art
What you think? Good idea, or some **** I'll think is crazy once I've actually got decent rest?
Is there even a place I could submit such an idea to someone at Google that's important enough to get things done?

I think that will be mad but it has to have offline achievements too. I love achievements and i would restart levels trying to get all of them on halo on my 360.

I'd hope they nailed a offline achievements system too, Sony pulled that off really well with PSVita and PS3 so that we can get achievements without a constant connection, but the smartphone alternatives don't seem to have taken that extra step.
I really love the idea but I think its only practical if its something Google takes up and becomes very serious about. The second people figure out how to hack things like achievements then the whole thing becomes null and void. I'm a huge shmup fan and couldn't wait to challenge the leaderboards in R-Type but there's so much hacking that the top ten is filled with maxed out scores. Btw, I'm the #3 Trizeal player in the U.S. and if anyone wants a link to the online leaderboards just ask

Not trying to sound like a smartass or anything, but this was covered in the first post.
Of course we know about OpenFeint... we also know it's been busted for over half a year, and got to be even more busted when they *upgraded* to GREE.
I really don't want to use Google+, but an achievements and games tracker community kinda thing would be cool.
I have a lot of games on Steam and I use it so much, that if I were to record my daily usage of Steam, even the worst basement dwelling WoW gamer would be shocked on the total hours.
So here's something; Steam achievements integration in Android/iOS games. The community is already there. Or buy games from Steam on Android and iOS! Even tho I don't know how that'd work because we already have Google Play and App Store
HOLY ****! Did Google listen to me? Their gaming service leaked, and it's suspcisiously familiar to EVERYTHING I hypothesized (even down to the Google+ integration).

Google just realized how awesome it sounded and needed to spend money....end result. Kidding, however its borderline creepy how much of an exact match it is to your idea, you should post them a link to your ideas and ask them to pay you royalties..... less time for xperiaplaygamer.net, and more time for hookers and nose candy. Lol....... okay back on topic.
I posted the apk in Android Apps and Games earlier if anyone wants it . But not much use till games utilise the service .

yeah, saw the article this morning.. if it is introduced, Google needs to know how to implement it properly, and give us gingerbread users some love. we'll know whats happening over the course of the next few weeks, at Google's I/O.
Google Play games service was officially shown off today and already loads of games just got updated with support for Google games service integration like examples MC4 and Riptide
MC4 - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftM4HM
Riptide - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vectorunit.blue
@TLRtheory It maybe a good idea to update the OP in this thread to include info on this as people are seaming to be talking about this Google service thing here (Not to mention your idea way back when was so close). If want to keep it how it is let me know and will create a new Google Games service thread Thanks

Guys,
Don't get into a argument over this - its not worth it
poo-tang - thanks for defending my app I really appreciate it.
CyberScopes, if £0.69 / $0.99 is too much then I guess I might as well give up now - I don't offer a free version because ad revenue is almost non existant due to 99% of android owners either running Lucky Patcher or knowing how to alter their hosts files - in doing so my revenue stream is zero'd out. So I decided to make this game 'Asteroid 2012' a paid only app - I set the price as low as is feasibly possible and so far in the year that I have been developing it - I have failed to recover the costs of the licenses for the Unity Engine and the Android / iOS outputs and the updates I have paid for to get Unity4 when released - let alone various other items that have gone into it.
If you are really desperate to play it for free - well a quick google will lead you to various places around the web that have older versions that don't contain the latest updates.
And in doing so you would be assigning the future development of this game to 'junk' status...
** Crap, didn't see the post on the second page... but I'll leave this here anyway

Ah yes, didn't notice them in the video, the asteroids are so big
Pretty neat game, though I doubt I'll buy it since I already have Galaxy on Fire.
Anyhow, good luck with the future developments! =)
Also didn't know about LuckyPatcher, that kinda sux for developers. I myself use Adfree, but only for the annoying ads on webpages (the screen size is already small enough without having to pollute it with ads), I don't mind having ads in apps as they help support the devs.
He wants ppl to send feedback.
The app is paid.
I'm a tester, not a used imho.

AD 2463.
For the last 500 years, among the bleak and barren worlds that exist in deep space, mankind has expanded its horizons. The most suitable planets and moons near Earth have been terraformed, turning the once-inhospitable wastelands into habitable places.
Deeper and deeper into the universe mankind spread itself, until only a mere handful of humans would or could survive the journey. These distant worlds became industrial powerhouses colonized by few human beings. Although they had to forego the comforts of home, they still managed to scratch out a living in the newly-fertile lands.
For all he knew, man was alone in the vastness of space, until they came...
The G'neng.
You are given control of a clone army of Expendable units, dropped in one by one, rearmed to battle for the last human settlements which have been overrun by the G'neng, a malevolent bio-mechanical alien race.
You start close to home, on the front line of the invasion, and make your way across the galaxy through colonies which have been in the hands of the enemy for longer and longer, until you reach the enemy home-world.
or to put it simply...
* IF IT MOVES... SHOOT IT *
Attack the G'NENG and kill them all. Relentless waves of aliens in a fight to the death

Yep thought the same. Still checking Sega for Crazy Taxi and Jet Set as would prefer them when they hit the store, but never say no to more Xperia Play support and classic ports
I think many developers that had games on older platforms that did not sell well think Mobile is there second chance. Take The Bards Tale for example that was not great for PS2 as there were far more advanced and sort after games people would rather buy. But look at it among Android games, its one of the greats. Sega also have seen the market for console retro on mobile by back porting there collection. Its like round 2 for developers to make $$$$ on there projects
I do think this is great for us as we get studio made quality titles at a budget price.
Oh Sega's been incredible to us, in fact I'd say they've been the best to us Play users out of any of the developers out there. I too search every day for Crazy Taxi, I love that game so ****ing much. I've had it on the ps2, gamecube, Dreamcast, PC, and, the only time I've played it on the go, the GBA (sure it was a god-awful port but I actually fell for it once I got the hang of it).
In the spirit of things my vote for next obscure Dreamcast port goes to either Carrier or Maken X
Have had an update from the developers and have added it to first post to notify you all.
Game is out now added link to first page.
That's great and all, but how is this different from the other twin stick shooters the Play Store is flooded with?
It's not a twin stick, it plays more like the 3d Contras actually and is quite fun. If you are sick of action/shooter games then you probably won't find much to like though.
Is there anything on the Xperia Play optimization? I didn't see it in the patch notes, and I wouldn't go for a game of this type if it doesn't have gamepad support.
Loved this game when it came out on PC ages ago, so I'm looking forward to some good news

Yes it's still coming. Notice they are still calling it launch version (with basic bug fixes) they want to make a big deal about gamepad support when ready. As it is not only going to be Xperia play optimized but also Moga and others too. Think they hate touch screens as there is no on-screen controls and feels like touch screen controls were an after thought. Will keep an eye out on our email as we should be getting some news from them soon

lol, I predicted that Infinite Dynamis would be on your list.
All the Kemco fanatics are looking forward to that. I still need to get into Knight of the Earthends!
I emailed them about 15 minutes ago and this was their response, from a live person not a computer zombie. (well maybe..lol) Kemco is always so dang fast replying, always in minutes never days or hours even.
My email to them:
Hello,
I am a huge fan of your current games that are optimized for the Xperia PLAY. Just to name a few:
Eve of the Genesis
Aeon Avenger
Symphony of Eternity
Dark Gate
I am aware that Symphony of the Origin will be released soon in English but was wondering if you could tell me if there are any other games currently in development that will be seeing a release in English and or any older Kemco games that will see a translation from Japanese to English? I look forward to your future projects and do sincerely hope that you continue to support the Xperia PLAY. Thank you for your time.
Kemco Reply:
Dear customer,

Thank you very much for your great support.
Unfortunately, we cannot say anything about future releases, but if you

Beat that some time ago.
I gotta say... at first that game looked painfully generic, but it turned out to have the most enjoyable class system I've seen on any RPG in a really long time! I ended up starting End of Aspiration late because I wanted to get the most out of Dark Gate.

Description
The next installment in the smash hit JRPG series, Alphadia II, is finally here! It’s time to unleash your energi once again and enjoy an immersive experience in a new and exciting world honed to perfection with a massive graphical overhaul, richly developed characters, and a streamlined battle system!
Alphadia II takes players on an unforgettable adventure 200 years after the events of the first Alphadia. Though after seemingly being lost to the inhabitants of the world, energi once again makes its appearance, and before long begins to drive opposing powers into an all out scramble to take control of this ever diminishing resource.
****
Those new to this exciting series can check out and also purchase the original Alphadia at the linked address below!

Energi… the source of power interconnected with all living things.
In times of old, the human race erected a great civilization that thrived on the use of this power. However, some two centuries earlier, an incident known as the Energi Crisis erupted and led to the planet's energi being sealed away. As a result, people lost the mysterious powers they were once capable of harnessing.
The story now picks up with the protagonist, Leon, who has been assigned to his first solo mission by the Energi Guild. And there within his mind echo the words of the guildmistress when she stated: "Energi is the hidden power within each individual. It is the power of the heart and mind, and when purposefully sought, its true potential is unleashed."
■Nostalgia at its best! It’s like old-school meets new-school with perfect harmony!
Sporting a colorful and gorgeously detailed 2D battle system, individual break skills, elementals that combine to create more powerful energi skills, and even an auto-battle function, Alphadia II comes equipped with everything fans of traditional JRPGs could expect and caters to both the hardcore and casual gamer alike!
■Energi is the key!
Energi is derived from one of six unique elementals and has the power to not only grow, but lead players to the acquisition of new and more powerful energi skills. These energi skills then, in turn, play an integral role in attack, recovery, and even support. Furthermore, once two separate elementals have reached a certain level, they can be combined to create even more powerful energi skills!
■Can you handle it?!
Aside from a voluminous story, Alphadia II offers a new "Mission" system in which players are able to accept missions from the guild in order to receive valuable coins. These coins can then be exchanged for powerful equipment and other hard-to-get items later on. In addition to the main story and missions is a wealth of subquests, making this title truly the whole package. In fact, after finishing the game, there may be still much more to do than one might think!

Other then my brief lapse of faith I am sure that there will be other games from Kemco with XP support. Both Alphadia's, and Grinsi (I think thats how its spelled) are the onyl games from them not XP optimzed. So I would be surprised if this was the begining of the end.
I'm sure this isn't the end.
Alphadia, as well as a few others - are simply published by Kemco with different teams behind them. The previous Alphadia wasn't optimized for Xperia Play at all and this one seems to use the same game engine - so it's not really surprising.
Just noticed this today. I bought the Knight of the Earthends when it was released and noticed today that now there is a version for Xperia devices....... looks like we get som additonal stuff thats not in the regular versions.
ORiginal, version I own:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...a#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwia2VtY28ud3dzLnZnYSJd
Xperia Only Version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDIxMiwia2VtY28ud3dzLnZnYS54cGVyaWEiXQ..
Edit: It now appears there is a special mode that can be unlocked where you can battle of Xperia users via our character in this game. Interesting........... Dont know if its online or simply local bluetooth/wifi.
I couldn't find any information regarding an online battle system; it appears they just added a new difficulty exclusive to Xperia devices but please link if you know anything more about the online mode.
Thanks for pointing this out btw, I've never tried a Kemco game, I have lost the will to play JRPGs (have tried playing Chrono Cross, Star Ocean: Second Story, FFIX, FFX, Grandia 2, etc. this year and haven't enjoyed any of them) but somehow I'm finding this game to be a lot of fun. First of all, it is ugly as sin and the scrolling effect when moving from one area of the screen to the next actually hurts my eyes. The story and characters are awful IMO. Beyond that, this game gets everything else right. Each character works very differently while still being completely customizable. The battles are quick and fun. The dungeons are designed well. The game has so far (only played for about two hours) been wonderfully linear and the map and quest-log systems make sure that I'm not endlessly searching for the next destination. Great find, completely worth 99 cents!
I thought I read it from Kemcos Facebook page. When I have a minute I'll see if I can find it and post it here

There should be no ads appearing during gameplay. I'll be sure to have this issue taken care of for the next update.
Thanks for the heads-up.
Things are going well for us and we've been receiving lots of positive reviews both on Google Play from our users, as well as from the online Android communities.
We'd released an update recently with some bug fixes that take care of things like in-game ads getting through, some level selection issues, more missions, etc.
What we really need is more support in the North American region, so feel free to check the game out and spread the word!
This looks awesome! I will also try it out when I get home tonight.
Thanks!
Not available in my country!

You have a very good game here. I love the main character, the animations, and the cartoon-like graphics. The game is also pretty fun.
The huge negative is that you are asking $5.99 for the full game. That is way more than comparable games! I don't see you having much success at that price, sorry.
I think the game itself is unlocked.. 5,99 is if you want all the power ups and map to be unlocked without sweating it out yourself.. please correct me if I'm wrong.. this game is really additive plus the pocket change built in is really great.. it's good playing a game you like and even earning some tokens as you do it..
some suggestions for future updates:
- possibility to earn lives during game play (max 5 or 3)
- possibility to upgrade base weapon
- stronger and more challenging bosses
thanks devs for this amazing game!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
KS Lin: Sorry if it's not available in your country. Are you in a country where Google Play does not support yet? We've made our game available to everyone, but perhaps there's an issue with that right now.
ehmjay: You are correct about the game coming free, fully unlocked. We do not believe that free games should be paid for unless they're classified as a demo, but that is not the case here. We are integrating multiplayer and rankings as a form of competition (more info to follow on the multiplayer mode ), and so if you do not want to play through all of the levels or grind your way to becoming a super hero with all of your powers, items, etc. you can instead purchase it all and save yourself a bit of time. We figure that the game will take at the very least a few hours to unlock everything you want if you're playing the most efficient path possible with purchases and missions. However this purchase is absolutely not necessary for anyone one to make, and you will not lose out on anything in the game by not purchasing anything with real money, ever.
As for your suggestions:
More lives: We've been hearing this a lot and while you can purchase armor in the shop which allows you to take 1 extra hit before dying, we might consider adding another layer of armor that can be purchased on top of that.
upgrades to base weapon: This is another idea that I've been thinking about, but haven't proposed yet to my partner. This is likely something that we will put into future updates, though, as enemies become stronger.
Stronger/challenging bosses: Of course! We have a lot more planned for our next couple of updates that we think will make the game MUCH more enjoyable and longer-lasting. Unfortunately I'm working out of country now and won't be home for 4 more weeks, so things are progressing a little bit slowly.
Thanks for all suggestions and support. I'll be sure to keep all update mentions posted here as they come!

i cleared the play store data. but it still won't install. (besides i'm trying to download it using Chrome on my computer, not the play store since it won't show up there.
maybe because its a t-mobile xperia z? i have a "clean" firmware though
Love the game
This game seems really fun. Only been playing it today but it's rather addictive.
One note though. Maybe think about moving the power activation to the bottom of the screen as it's really hard to hit the buttons on my phone without
A) it being awkward to press, commonly have to press it a few times.
B) covering the entire screen with my giant hand to reach the button (then I die)
I have auto-fire turned on because on my phone my thumb takes up too much space to use the fire button.
Also, this isn't a problem, just an aesthetic:cowboy, but when you pause the game the background still moves. Maybe stop the scrolling when it's paused.

Your points are completely valid (I feel the same way), though it is much easier to play on a tablet, which I do. However that's no excuse to restrict everyone to the same configuration. We'd actually had the inventory at the bottom in between the two controllers prior to release, but it just looked more natural up at the top. I will make an issue of this for our next update, adding an option to either play with the inventory where it is now or at the bottom of the screen for easier access.
As for the background not stopping on pause, thanks for reminding me. I must have just gotten used to it but it was definitely a priority of mine to fix while we were working on the game.

Save the Comet Hits the Earth!
Wanna learn what the "infinite gravity action" is?
Save the Comet is a game that brings together gravity, physics and endless runner elements all in to one arcade-style game!
Your duty is to save the comet from all kinds of hazards such as planets, meteors and Hyper-Nova! However while doing all this, you cannot touch the Comet! Do you know what? There is a more enjoyable way to save it. You have to drag the mighty planets with the tip of your finger, orbit them to get a high-score and crash those meteors!

Explore the Universe, get the Stardust!
Save the Comet from meteors, asteroids and HyperNova!
Beware the Meteor Shower!
Being different from the other infinite mobile games in the market Save the Comet has also an "Ending" which reveals a tiny bit about the reason which lies behind the Comet's journey across the universe. Let's look at the main goals which should be accomplished to Save the Comet:
What to do
• Smash, Pull and Strike the Comet out of danger
• Explore the galaxy dragging huge planets around
• Crush Meteors with the mighty finger of yours
• Survive the legendary Meteor Shower
"Let me say that people are in for a challenging fun game that will provide hours of entertainment."
-Geeksmith Productions
"All in all, it’s an impressive game. Very addictive once the meteorites, diamond planets and power-ups come into play."
-Alpha Beta Gamers
"...very different from what we see on Play Store. Personally I will return on… when I have time."
-AndroGames FR
Is this all? No let's talk about the perks and one shots. To ensure your safety during the journey, you will need all of these beautiful enhancements which makes Comet less invulnerable than before. Do you also want some super beneficial one shot items? Don't go so far, you can find them just before starting the game!
Key Features
• Find out why the Comet wanders the galaxy!
• Meet Aliens and even control them!
• Control the universe! Planets, meteors, asteroids!
• Only thing you can not control is your main character!
• Gravity based game-play!
Save the Comet apparently is not a clone of other game and tries to bring something new to market. We hope you like it!
Sincerely,
MogaMecha Team

Hmm Great to hear that! Except the problems of course
About the planet problem. I may have a couple of questions to solve it. We will try to look into that ASAP.
Have you used the recently implemented Quick Restart or One Shot buttons that appear while Camera is zooming in to the Comet when you die? (Example below)
About the Google Play i suspect it might be related to some kind of connection issue. But i am not quite sure since we have not seen this problem before. But we will definitely look into it.
Pointing the obvious but if you haven't done yet, make sure you have the latest version of Save The Comet.
Also it would be great if you could tell around about the game We need every help we can get

Thanks tho you we were able reproduce and solve this issue. You will see it fixed in the next patch
We are planning even better Customizations and brand new features that we could not make ready before release! (More Geeky stuff )
That would be great if you could share us around We really need every single download in those days!
We have just released a major update!
Lot's of polishing involved in this update!
Here take a look at it : http://blog.savethecomet.com/post/89778428027/polishing-the-comet
Frustrated? No More!
Ok Everyone!
We knew that you have frustrated by a couple of things. This patch will aim to solve them as much as possible. (ETA Tomorrow)
So let us begin the countdown!
Frustration Number 3!
Door animations are too slow. Restarting takes too long!
- Door animation is now a lot more faster. Also you will be able to directly restart into the game in a future patch
Frustration Number 2!
Game asks for rating all the time!
- This was a bug. And now you also have chance to hide this dialog for good.
…Aaaaaaand, Frustration Number 1!
Game asks to login to google everytime i start it!
- We will only ask the first time you have opened the game. After that you are completely free of Google if you want to
Headstart just got Better!
It has been a wonderfully tiring week for all our team. Except Oz, he was on vocation drinking margarita and dancing under sun shine!
Anyways, we have made some great changes around the galaxy.
First and biggest of them all is that we have upgraded the HeadStart.
Before
> You could use it to reach level 2 if you had 2500 Stardusts.
Now
> Headstart now has 3 different levels.
> To unlock a new level of headstart you should reach the corresponding level in the game. For example to unlock yellow Headstart which takes you to the Soul Nebula, you have to reach the Soul Nebula at least once.
> After unlocking more than a single level; which level you can use and how much you are are going to pay will be determined a very small mini-game.
Not interesting changes;
> We have killed a lot of bugs recently. Yes we are horrible people.
> Pickups now increase you combo.
Awesome games no problems
