Hey xda its not really finished im running a OTA update of 4.67 or something like that and i used apktool to decompile a rosie from the newest OTA update for supersonic and i used the newest updated framework files (framework-res.apk and com.htc.resources.apk)
I sucessfully did everything right but it forecloses on me.
I think its because of The OTA update im running.
So im wondering if some of you can give me feedback if the apk is fully functionable and/or five me advise and help me.

Make sure the apk is compiled and signed properly first off, I had an issue similar to yours. Also make sure there are no clashing files such as the original Rosie and framework files. No missing files within the Rosie or framework is necessary. I hope you saved all original files in a safe place?

Yes ues i did and i might flash ota update rom with root and everything and try to see if it works or restart the whole thing again which was a pain in the ass to do
Going through every xml file to change it so it can run without replacing the stock rosie.apk and should i just go theme something else i might become a themer i like changing stuff up.

is this a flashable? also, you cant just name the rosie.apk "awesomeness", just doesnt work that way, it must remain rosie.apkfor it to work properly.

Yeah I went through every XML file in the Rosie apk because apktool said there was a problem is Rosie.apk/example/example.XML
And it took awhile because I didn't search for com.HTC.launcher.

Hey guys, I'm trying to port over the ICS transition animations over to the CM nightlies via this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342117
I did everything to a T numerous times and every time I push the newly modified framework-res.apk into my system/framework via Root Explorer I'm always hit with FC's and when I reboot I get hit with bootloops.
Anyways I was wondering if anyone else can see how to get this working on the G2x, any help would be great!
just wandering isnt the framework for cm7 different from the framework for ics so that may be the problem. just my thoughts.
You are aware that this is done in the computer, not inside the rom, you have to do this with the zipped rom, and then flash it.

Yes I took the framework, decompiled it, replaced the old animations with the ICS ones. Then I recompiled it, signed it, and then tried to push it into my system and get loops every time. What I'm doing should be working but its not. So was wondering if someone who knows more about this could see why its not working.

Yeah... That's what I'm stuck on. I don't get what we're doing wrong.
Not that it will likely help much, but it is not required to sign system apks. Furthermore, are you making any XML edits? If so did you make sure to remove the edited files and the resources file?

Thanks for the response! Yes, I edited the XML and added two lines. And I deleted the resource.arsc file as well. You think you can give it a shot and see if you can get it to work?
I hope anyone else can chime in this. I'm eager to get this working.

System files should never be resigned after editing them. That is why APK Manager asks you if it is a system file. It doesn't sign it. Just compile it and then zip align it. Don't sign it and try it again. Also when I recompile system files I never say Yes to the last question about copying everything over to the keep folder. I just recompile from the files in my project folder and I never have problems.
I think the ea asiest way of doing this is deleting the anim folder in the framework-res.apk and drag/drop ics anim folder into that apk. It might ask you if you want to add, just click yes. And then just push the new modded framework-res to your phone with adb. That's what I did from cm6 to cm7. It might be different with ICS....its worth a shot. Hope this helps.

You have to tell people what rom you are using. The framework files are not the same between the different roms. You just can't use a modified framework meant for another rom.
i have miui 11/18 but ill switch to cm7 if you can get it working on that
I GOT IT !!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342117&page=14
find the patcher by DaxElectro and download it , it works with miui and cm7 , once you make the 2 zips go into recovery mode and go to mounts and storage than mount system than flash the patch zip and enjoy ics transitions , i tested it with miui and it works
After an all-nighter, a day, and another all-nighter, I'm proud to present BioCharge; a touch of Bionic for your Charge. This is my first attempt at theming, and an attempt to port the Driod Bionic's UI to the Droid Charge.
NOTE! This theme is anywhere but done, however I consider it full enough to release a copy of it. Very few apps are themed and most apps included are only included for the icon. This theme is still very poopified and will be worked on casually by me over time.
What you need:
dwitherall's flashable EP4D + extras
The latest version of CWM
Bravery and backups
What's included:
A fully themed TouchWiz30Launcher.apk
A handful of icons for stock apps
AOSP Mms.apk (if you want the stock Mms.apk, make a backup of it before flashing)
A debloater in the install script (in case you left the bloat already or are flashing this over a fresh install)
What's to come:
More themed apps
I'll take requests, speak your mind!
Download here!
Screenshots!
Looks very good! Keep up the good work.
Sent from my mobile office.
thank you!
The theme looks great and I look forward to the next release.

I'm not sure. If you're feeling brave, make a backup and try it. I'd probably say no, since they're two different versions.

I just tryed to open my camera and it force closed.
To everyone getting FC's: do a fix permissions and see if that clears it up. The only part of Camera.apk I changed was the icon.
i just fixed permissions and im still getting FC's
could you possibly post a version that does not run the debloat script?
Thanks!
For the problem with the Camera app, you can go into the original zip file for the EP4D update and find the Camera.apk and Camerafirmware.apk and extract them to your SDCard, and then use root explorer to copy and paste both back into your system/app folder. Of course, you should use Titanium backup to uninstall both those files before you copy the new files over. I have both the files on hand, but I don't know if the rules of the forum restrict posting stock apks

Hi everyone. I've been reading around xda for quite a while and would first like to say thanks to all the great devs and others on here who have really helped to make the infuse an even better phone. Ok so this is my first post so I hope I have the right section. My question: is it possible to pull the sgs2 wallpaper pack from gtg's Infused rom? I've searched everywhere and can't find a wallpaper pack like it. I'm trying to complete my sgs2 look on my infuse with CM7 and wizmod2 theme. Thanks for any help!

Try searching for the wallpapers in the rom zip. Normal locations are the framework apk if its just one. Or a separate folder in the ROM if they are multiple.

Yes, but only selective apps. You may, but should be careful with the android build version. Some apps are compiled from sources, and those might not be compatible when taken from one ROM to another. But others, like add on apps, can be taken.

I think the tree structure within framework.jar is a bit different but it may still work, I still haven't tested it, I got distracted. you can use apk tool or smali to decompile it, baksmali or apk tool to compiled it.
I don't mess with apk manager because it tries to do to much for you and isn't really useful because the apps don't usually work when you are done, you wind up having to pull files from the Finnished apk and dropping them in a copy of the original because the signing doesn't work with system apps.

Awesome! But I'm still confused. Since the UCALC4 leak I had not been able to use apktool, apk multi-tool,xdaAutoTool, etc. (bad magic values and such). However, for some reason, as soon as you came back from tour and came out with the first Sky ICS ROM base, I could decompile apks again (smali files and all) with no errors or bad magic value nonsense. Why would that be?

The changes made should work. So basically if you compared the changes of this to their stock rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825272 and then applied the same changes to our stock rom, it would work. BUT their files as is will not work.
Basically, it would probably take about 15 minutes for someone to do if they knew what they were doing. I however don't have 15 minutes to spend on this so I can't help right now lol.

so what I would do is download their stock deodex and extract the files that are included in the mod.
Then, decompile the .jars and apks that were modded and the stock version
Run winmerge on them to see exactly what they changed
Then make those exact changes to our stock deodex rom. So you will need to decompile 3 sets of files and recompile 1 set.

I got apktool installed and decompiled framework.jar where it creates a folder called smali. The problem is, I can't view any of the contents from within it. If I go to properties it states contents "nothing" yet shows free space as being 66.7 GB. So I know that there's something in there, I'm just not allowed to view the contents. I read somewhere that you need a text editor?
I did all this on a Linux machine (Mint 13.) I'm gonna try it on a windows PC next just to see what happens.
Edit: I found out that by changing .jar to .apk and then decompiling it allowed me to view the contents. Now I'm sitting at trying to open the TextView.smali. lol
Edit 2: for some reason it's not working for the JellyWiz rom. It's still not showing the contents from within the samli folder.
