So, I wanted to install DroidSheep on my phone.
I was wondering how I would do that.
I got the source, opened a text file, pasted it in, then changed the file to a .apk file. Is that right?
And also, does anyone know if DroidSheep works on ICS?
If not, does anyone have an alternative?

What in the world are you going to do with it? Judging from your posting history, I'm sure you're not going to use it as inteded. It's illegal if you get caught using it on someone else's network, and YES, they can find out easily.

Actually, most people won't be able to find out. Every single one of my friends that I used this on had no idea that I did, until I showed them and persuaded them to use better security.
I'm not saying you should use this maliciously, of course, but most people don't even know how to log in to their router, let alone realize that someone is using droidsheep against them.

I'm using it on my own network.... I'm not using it on any one else's network. Why would I want random people's random accounts?

it has quite a few features google voice does not currently, or didn't last time i checked. actually was interested if anyone could comment if it was worth the premium over google voice.

My Skyrocket, is like, monitored 24/7 by AT&T with that spyware installed it... Also it wont let me use some apps, or webpages while at the 4G network, instead I have to use WiFi .. little help here, am rooted!

What APN do I should use?
The restrictions and carrier IQ are two different things. To remove carrier IQ a dev need to help us out on that part it's deeply integrated.

+1 for this.. I must say Chainfire has helped quite a bit +1 for Romtoolbox as well. This carrier IQ is a pain yo. Phone doesnt nearly start to even touch it's potential. Ick

The Carrier IQ isn't affecting certain website that I can see. All it does is collecting user's data. Which I don't like.
if you run a 'ps' in terminal or using adb shell do you see libiq running?

They probably have it because they want to control everything. We all know att. They also know the xda community is growing bigger and bigger. And everything is free here. I think there more worried about all the free tethering and not paying for it. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I bet you read that post about sprints carrieriq and misread it. The data on sprints phones are hooked into, but not logged or sent to sprint.
There isn't even conclusive evidence that carrieriq is enabled on the skyrocket so people need to chill.

Even if it is is, MOST of the things people are paranoid about with CarrierIQ, the carrier can ALREADY do! IE: See what sites you visit, your texts, your phone calls. They have had this ability for a long time, carrier side.
But doesn't having this on the phone also eat away at precious battery life ? By the way, is this on both the OSG2 and sky rocket?

If you notice, the qik app you on our phone says 'T-Mobile Video Chat by Qik'.
Try one of these and see if it works...

There doesn't seem to be an easy way for you to get the app. My thoughts for you are to either try a third party app market (I haven't done) or go to an at&t phone forum here on XDA and look for the app (I did do and did not find) or download a ROM from the at&t phone forum and see if the .apk is included in the ROM (I did for you also but the 316 meg file was an .exe? so I could not see if the .apk was in there).

I tired to download it on my other phone but it wont. Weird thing is I can see its available on the pc based market but the phone has it blocked.

As you probably know, skype has acquired qik (I think). I can see skype contacts from qik. Maybe you can see qik friends from skype mobile (maybe not... I have not tried).

Ok this is gonna be the most weirdest question ever ... is it possible to format someones computer just by having their facebook account ? Reason why im asking this a random person accessed a private file on my computer which he threathens me to publicly release it or otherwise i have to pay 700€ which is just insane.. im really desperate if this file go out im like dead really..

Report it anyway. To answer your question, if someone managed to get you to inadvertently install some spyware from Facebook on your computer, they could possibly access your files.
Best bet is to verify he actually has the file. If he does, report it to the police.

It's not possible to format a hard disk through facebook,
but this person may have installed some kind of spyware on your computer and access it that way.
(did you ever open some kind of attachment from an email from him or something?? that way he could have put it on your computer)

Nope i do not remember opening an attachment however we had a webcam chat just before all this happens and it was through skype could that have anything to do ?

Well, in the future keep truly sensitive media on a storage device that's not connected to the Internet and encrypt it.
I don't know what you have that would make you "dead" but unless it's so illegal that 700€ is a good deal, just accept it.
Maybe I'm boring, but the most embarrassing file on my computer is probably either any of the Katy Perry MP3s or a picture of me in my underwear.
If you're doing illegal things, keep them on a separate machine than the one you browse the Internet and conduct frivolous personal entertainment on.
But if it's kiddie porn, forward it to your local police kthx. Otherwise, what could be that bad? Sorry for suggesting the worst - I'm just an innocent soul who can't really imagine what could be worth 700€ outside of the realm where you could just pay someone to have this guy shot.

Anyway, you can report it to the police, I think it's a violation to someone's privacy, blackmailing is a crime, but if that "thing" is just somewhat illegal, maybe you should pay the price, that's what I've learned in Breaking Bad (tv series)

I can understand how a lot of things can complicate people's lives - I can see if they got work information that you would get in trouble for having publicly released - but in that case I would be contacting my employer first to have them get their legal team/the police on it.
I just don't keep secrets very well, I suppose - so I don't have really anything that could be used as "dirt" against me so the situation confuses me a little. If someone got naked pictures of me and published them, it's not worth 700€ to me to stop them - might as well be proud and admit, "yep that's what I look like under my clothes, crazy that we all tend to have genitals, huh ?" Though I suppose if you were entrusted to keep naked pictures of someone else (that you presumably cared about) that would indeed be a problem and a difficult situation - pay 700€ or possibly lose a relationship with someone.
Or proof of an affair, a hidden past as a porn star now that you're an elementary school teacher who lied about that past, pictures of that time you did lines of coke off a prostitute's buttocks, or video of when you paid to kill a child in a Mexican hostel for cheap thrills. I guess I'm just not cool enough to get invited to parties where that kind of thing happens so I don't have to worry about it.

Google has more dirt on me than anyone who scouring my hard-drive could get. They have the proof that I'm a barely-sentient mouth-breather who Googles the stupidest things imaginable and is incapable of installing anything on Linux without a tutorial, apparently, and went on an hours-long search binge looking at pictures of baby ungulates.
Unless it's really, really bad instead of merely embarrassing, I'd just admit it myself first and leave the "blackmailer" without anything of worth. The choices here seem like either do that, pay it, or put a measure of faith in the police in whatever country this person is located. I'm not sure how effective it would be to get this person's personal information and threaten to release it and try to drum up a media fuss - would that scare them or would they just try to take you down with them ?
I'm also curious as to how they pulled this off seemingly without indication (not doubting it, just curious).

I used to be very shy, but now I'm merely a private person. I learned a very good "lesson" that has held true so far - admit to yourself and be honest about it and people will respect you for that. If they don't, well, why let it bother you? That's their problem if you've personally accepted whatever happened - good, bad, or just stupid.
I have "secrets" that could potentially put my life in danger. But why let someone have that in a manner where they might not stop after one extortion - what's to say they won't just ask for more money later ? Better to tell them to piss off and then prepare myself for whatever.
Try, "haha, [blackmailers name] thinks they can get me to pay 700€ to keep this down. Well, here it is and now it's worthless since you all can view e being a moron right here, right now - go nuts"
