got the one x 2 weeks ago and i keep rebooting the phone. my case puts the power button on top, so when i rest my hand on it, yes this is laziness at its finest, i reboot it. so is there a way to lock the power button, i have a app to wake with volume keys for ppl w/ broken power buttons.

You can do a lot of things with the button, for instance if you press the button and hold the pen against the screen for 2 sec you will take a screen shot.
I'm sure all of this is covered in the manual also, or is the manual not included with the tablet?
If there is no manual included perhaps you can install this app which seems to cover everything... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.spenguide

Once you upgrade to jellybean, that button will start working wonders .
All of a suddon my htc one x wont turn on. When I plug it in I get a solid green charging light. When I hold power the home, back and recent apps buttons flash bright white, when I try recovery mode, power and vol down I get the same flashing home buttons. Any ideas, thanks.

press and hold power until the home, back and recent apps buttons flash bright white, I think 7 times? then they stop flashing and the screen goes black, let go of power and press and hold volume down until bootloader comes up.
Awesome
Wow. Thank you. I appreciate it and the fast response.

To be honest, I am not certain. Usually this occurs when the battery dies. I believe it's a bug of sorts.
It does that even when battery is at 60%.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I think you're the only one that happens to.

Yeah I've had it when my battery dies, but never other times.
Actually I'm not. I have seen tons of ppl with my same issue
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk
Tons of people? I've only seen you report it happening without the battery actually dying. I've seen other people report it, but only when their battery dies fully. Can you provide some links to other people reporting it happening without the battery dying?
Sent from my Evita
I meant ten ppl..five of them are coworkers of mine
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk
Ok but I haven't even seen five other people report it the way you have here on XDA. I haven't even seen one other person report it the way you have here on XDA. I've read every single thread in our forum.

My battery isn't dying fully. It does this even when phone is on 60-70% really isn't a big deal..jw if me hav ing to hold power for a while til soft keys blink will do any damage or just isn't good

Well..maybe our issues are different, but it is happening. Honestly..after a while, now led doesn't come on regardless of what recovery I'm using. Ugh. Lol.

I know what you're reporting. What I'm saying is you're the only one experiencing it in those conditions, you're the only one reporting it happening like that.

Admitting that you're having a different issue and saying there are "tons" of other people having it are worlds apart, Chris.

But one question...having to hold power down to boot up..is it bad? Just curious
Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk
Even ten isn't right. You're the one single person that has reported their phone behaving in this manner. Having to hold the power button down isn't bad for the phone, all it's doing is performing a hard reset.

Either way, its an exaggeration and almost certainly not true. People here often say its the "same problem" when its in fact not the exact same issue, just something similar.
As mentioned, various forms of the power management bug have been reported. But your exact conditions seem fairly unique.
Yes

I convinced a friend to try out a Nexus 5 as his new phone. Only feature that's disappointing is the speaker volume. It varies greatly from apps like Youtube to google maps, etc. I see on 11/8 Google acknowledged that it was a software issue and a fix is coming. Haven't seen any updates on the issue... outside of Rooting and messing with system files.
IT's not my phone and gonna stay stock. is a software fix is coming soon??? Should the problem have been resolved by now? Anybody know if they got a bad phone
Other than speaker volume... Loves the phone.
Volume
Google Maps - sound volume is fine
Youtube - unusably low.. some non-song audio is plenty loud
Tune-In Radio = sound volume is fine
OK Google = Sound is plenty loud
Phone Volume = plenty loud
Thanks
Yeah check out the themes section

Hello everyone, just got my case two days ago. I love it. Except the soft back and menu keys do not work sometimes, however the screen always works, and sometimes the keys will work flawlessly then I don't touch anything and they stop working.
My question:
Is this a defective case or is this somewhat normal?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
I never had issues with mine. Turn high touch sensitivity setting in your display setting did you already don't have it on.

That didn't make a difference for the buttons or the screen. Screen functions just fine, but like i said, i could be using the device, and the buttons work. then look away from my phone and press the menu button and boom no worky. lol. Called Seidio and they said somethings not right and are sending a replacement. Yay. I do love this case though except for that. Oh the weirdest part is, the back key will work sometimes but the menu key won't work at all. ha.
Are there any places on that case stucking on home, power buttons ? take it off and check again.

I'm not sure I completely understand, but nothing being pressed. It's very random the way it works and then doesn't. Hopefully this new one fixes it.

Like no joke, while typing that last reply, they were working, after replying I hit the back button and it worked. Then I went to hit the menu button and nothing. Lol. Very strange.

No. Not with the device in the case. I did the water test then dried it completely and no water got inside. I got the new one and it seems to be much better. haven't had any major issues like before.
Another weird issue. Proximity sensor cannot see through the plastic covering.. did I seriously get 2 defective cases in a row?
