Hey guys, I've been having a great time flahsing the S3. I've fallen in love with CM10 that was flashed using droidstyle's guide. Everything worked flawlessly for three days but since last night I now have no data at all. No 3G or 4G. I'm going to install the latest modem. The "Phone Info" app is not helping either. Any other ideas? It's just bizarre to me that it would randomly stop working. Nothing had changed.
Thanks
Applied Latest OTA Modem
So I applied the latest modem. I'm still having the same issue. I've read that I may have to get a new SIM Card but I'm not sure. Any help at all is much appreciated.
Thank you!

Fixed
Hey guys, I'm not exactly sure what solved my problem but I currently have data. After applying the latest Modem update I switched to "CDMA only" through Phone Info. After a couple of hours I changed to LTE/GSM/CDMA and it's currently working as it had been. Thanks for all of your responses.

Hey guys,
No matter what I do I can't get my service to work again. All it shows at the top is a little circle with a slash through the middle. I tried installing a custom rom but ran into some problems. So I "restored" my backup through rom manager. But i don't have service anymore. Since this happend I have tried several new roms and I still can't get the service to come back.
Some people say it has something to do with the IMEI but according to my setup I still have one.
I have been working on this problem for nearly 13 hrs none stop! Please help... I have searched everywhere.
Thanks

If your IMEI and all that information is correct then you may have a bad sim card resulting in no service at all. Otherwise i'd recommend using odin to go back to completely 100% stock and see if that fixes it.

Thank you so much for responding. I have tried to restore stock with odin but every time odin finishes my phone still boots up my existing rom. Any quick ideas with that one?
And do you really think my sim could have just gone bad like that? It's free to get a new one so maybe I will try that as a last resort.
I don't know much about rooting but could it be my radio?
A couple of questions?
Is boot loader unlocked, if so how did you unlock, updated ver 1.4 ez-unlock can mess up and relock boot loader. Use ver 1.2 . "Verizon only"
What ROM and kernel? Make sure its for your carrier.
Any radio should be OK as long as its for you phone and carrier.
See the Galaxy sIII shine via SynergyRom
did you try reprovisioning your device with dialer code *2767*3855?
note that this does wipe internal sd so back ur **** up!
I tired the above number in dialer but always comes up with error saying "mobile network not available".
Am I doing something wrong?
Oh.... You forgot to ad a # on the end of that number. After this everything started working again!!! Thank you so much!

What fixes the problem. This happened to me after flashing the latest MIUI ROM on my Verizon S3.
I tried re provisioning my phone with the number sequence below but it did not work. I also used the phone info app but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.
So I started today feeling a little creative so I flashed the newest MIUI ROM, there was a data issue that I tried to work out and in the end screwed everything up.
I lost signal but I have data.
I have tried probably 10 ROMs and the same has happened, I am getting a roaming sign, but it shows I have bars (I am connected to a wireless repeater so full service all the time on 3g).
What in the world do I do? I've seriously tried everything. I flashed back to stock through ODIN and nothing still.
PLEASE tell me someone has seen heard this problem... WHAT DO I DO?
Thanks in advance...
Go to settings - about phone - status and tell us if your IMEI is a bunch of zeros or a string of numbers.

It's not I its still the right one, that was something I checked... I considered doing a IMEI restore anyway and maybe that would fix the problem but I still definitely have it there. Thanks

How I Fixed It
Hey there. Not sure if your still having this problem, but I ran into the same issue with my new phone after rooting, unlocking bootloader, and flashing MIUI. To fix it, I had to odin to stock (Pre-Jellybean for the Samsung Utility), which I got from here: http://hotfile.com/dl/169363562/8975152/SCH-I535_VZW_I535VRALG1_I535VZWALG1.zip.html%20
Then I ran the Samsung Repair Utility from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867442&page=18
The Samsung Repair Utility said my ERI was present and my IMEI was accurate per the back of my phone. Desperate, I ran the "Repair ERI" anyway which made no difference until I followed the OP's directions to dial the code to run the factory reset if the tool didn't work. That seemed to do the trick :victory:
Good Luck.
I did a full wipe and flashed the CM10.1 nightly released for the d2vzw this morning. When it rebooted I had no cell service. Looking in settings i have the proper IMEI number but my cell number is listed as 000-000-1361, MIN is 1361, PRL is 1. what can I do to fix it? I tried restoring a nandroid but the result is the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Okay so i believe this was my fault for flashing the latest cm 10.1 nightly with my build.prop edited to galaxy nexus values to allow google wallet functionality. removing sim card, starting phone, shutting down phone, inserting sim card, and starting phone fixed the problem

Any one try Odin back to stock?
I have a similar issue and I have been going around and around with it without any luck. I restored my latest backup and I still have 000-000-3257 with a PRL of 1. I will try the ops recommendation and will report back.
Odin to stock is my next move unless someone else can think of something else to try.
Try clearing dalvik cache in recovery. Fixed it for me on AOKP. Had the exact same thing where my phone number was a bunch of zeroes. Still had service though when I hit the home button to bypass the activation screen.

I tried to remove the sim, and boot, and readd the sim and boot but no go. I will try it again but then I think I am going back to stock to see if that works.
Everything still works fine. No need to get worried......it just doesn't report your phone number accurately. Its not like it actually effects functionality. I ran it with an f'ed phone number for 3 days. Everything ran fine. Don't sweat it. If its a problem, wait until tomorrows official nightly comes out tonight and you'll be set.

My issue is it is affecting my functionality. My phone is not working and whenever I call out I get a generic message saying my phone is not active.
I restored a backup from when I first rooted. Now my phone number is listed properly and when I get into a 4G coverage area I can get data, but I still can't call out and it shows I am roaming when I am in a 3G area.
OP on CM10.1 says that dirty flashing Unofficial 10.1 build 12/17/12 will restore data. Any luck with this fix?

I was very unlucky and the dirty flash didnt work for me. However, I did have a backup of my IMEI and was able to flash it back to my phone.
I ran into the same problem after flashing 10.1... lost IMEI and stuck on roaming, had no backup.
To fix it i did the following
1) Odin back to stock
2) use this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867442
3) reprovish the phone using this code in the dialer *2767*3855#
IMEI restored and no longer on roaming

THANK YOU!. I could not get the IMEI/ERI tool to work, but I did get *2767*3855# code to work. I had to roll back to a older version of the official rom (I think rolling back the radio would have been OK) but I am not up and working.

I flashed back to stock as well and then used the same number to reprovision. After that everything worked fine it fixed the roaming, incorrect number, PRL, and all. I never lost my IMEI so I didnt do that step. but if you flash back to the cm 10.1 before they fix the data it will happen again

I can't remember for sure, but I think that is something that the VZW tech had me do, and it didn't work. Maybe someone else who is having the issue can test and comment.

Sent from an unlocked Galaxy S 3! Screw you Verizon!
So...I went ahead and flashed the Dec 24th official 10.1 release with data working. I flashed with TWRP and it went smoothly. I couldn't activate the phone because it was stuck in roaming. I tried what ever I could do but could not get out of it. So I resorted back to full stock from verizon locking and un-rooting. Did that and I also flashed a stock radio. Still cannot get out of roaming mode.
Any suggestions? Kind of in desperate need of data to get a working phone!
Thanks in advance. I'm sure this problem has come up among many of you.

I thought flashing "[OFFICIAL]CM10.1 Official Nightlies for D2VZW GSIII (12/24 Official Data Works)" was the latest one. How would I go about "fixing" the mobile settings? via the settings menu? I cannot access that menu if I need to go there. I need to get past the activation screen. Also I am not so sure on performing the four corners trick in order to get past that screen.
thanks

i just posted a fix topic for this but here this is how i got mine to work after flashing CM10.1 the 12/24
If you remove ur sim card and boot up and connect via wifi, u can then register and set up the phone. then shut down put sim card back in and boot up. go to system settings -> More... under wireless and networks -> mobile networks -> CDMA subscription and choose RUIM/SIM (NOT NV)

I didnt see a responce from here but ill do my best, flash back to the stock ROM using ODIN and you should be put back into the operating system still in roaming mode then you dial *2767*3855# as soon as you hit the # your phone will download a file and re-provision itself which will fix the roaming error.
Hey people, been a while since I've been in this neck if the woods.
I decided to pull out my 'ol Nexus 5 and start using it again. That being said, I've run into somewhat of a problem.
I've been using the phone since Monday, and I was on the newest build of Mahdi Rom (4.4.4). Then yesterday, I gave into Lollipop and decided to flash the Ultrasmooth 5.0.1 Rom (uncluding flash of radio and bootloader.) It was all working perfect until I left work today. All of a sudden, cell service just cut out.
Since then, I've went to factory stock unrooted and it still hasn't fixed the problem. The SIM works just fine in my Note 4 but when I put it in my Nexus (which is now running 5.0 fully stocked), it does not pickup any signal whatsoever.
Can anyone help me please? Really want to fix this...
