Hello,
My name is Mr.Centurian and I am a developer or the brain behind the much awaited firmware by wave 525 users,Melior aka Bada Platform-X.
We are a group of people modifying our wave for better features and have achieved great results from our experience by now.By default,Wave 525 is not able to change Fonts and Lockscreen but our devs have found out a way of not only making the rc1 file getting accepted but also succeeded in changing the fonts and lockscreen of the phone. We are also working on the main menu modification so that we can get a main menu background but only this is the area where we haven't achieved any success.
Our basic plan is to get a main menu background by changing the defined resolution of Softkey from 240X70 to 240X400 so that it covers the whole screen but we haven't found a file that could be helpful for us.If any expert is able to guide us in this area, then it would be really helpful for our Firmware.
Screens are attached...Hope to receive some help
Cheers,
Centurian

Ok after checking out my brothers droid with factory 2.1 he can set a lockscreen wallpaper from the android photo album. Now my question would be we can remove the htc lockscreen and recover the factory 2.1 lockscreen can we get the factory photo album ( not the htc one) in our phones, guessing a possible apk. if so we may be able to set the wallpapers for the lock screen in this manner. I am a newb, just got the cdma hero 3 weeks ago and have spent the last 3 weeks reading these forums. (I think my brain is going to explode at some point.... LOL). I am hoping that this may be an easy fix for what so many are asking for.
The problem is, our version of the vanilla lockscreen has no provisions in the lockscreen itself, that I can see, for using / referencing a wallpaper set at the system level (which we can do / is used by the HTC Locksceen).
Thus, the current process we have in place is to hack the XML that controls the formatting / display of the vanilla lockscreen. We hack the XML by replacing the value in the XML that specifies a background color, by having it point to a fixed background image, to use as the wallpaper, instead.

It is easy. Its not rocket science. Anybody can figure it out if you at least try...
My situation the same as that another man in the following post has.
(I am new and unable to embed outside URL's in my post. Please search Google for 'when switch to 32 bit graphics icons go black'.)
I am porting Android to a MIPS-based device. After modifying the frame buffer and gralloc, the wallpaper is displayed in the correct colours. But all widgets are black.
Since the frame buffer's post() function just received composed data, and the wallpaper's colour is correct, I guess the code that draws widgets has some problems. This may be the display data I set is different (or wrong) from what the code expects.
If it is not too much trouble, could you give me any hint about the files I should check? Or which files are related to drawing widgets?
I have spent a few days debugging this but there was no progress.
Hi everyone. I'm actually new to Android development and to this forum so i hope that i'm in the right place to ask this.
Actually, I got a little problem while building my Android App. I want to create a mini-game in my app. It will works like this:
At the begining an image appears
then the app ask the user to zoom-in the picture
then a grid will appear and seperate the picture into pixels (like the one million pixel wall for example)
the user will have to choose one "pixel" of the grid and he will win (or not) some points.
My main problem concern the grid. I want to apply an invisible grid on the picture (before the zoom-in) but when the user will zoom in the picture the grid will appear (opacity=1).
My questions are :
-How can i manipulate the opacity of a grid (GridLayout ?)?
-How can i apply a value (boolean or int) to each pixel of the grid?
I know that this question sounds like "how can this be done" but I just need some personal advices in order to build my own game. General tips and tricks are welcomed. Explanations will be great.
Thanks in advance.
P.S.: Sorry for my English. It's not really my main language but I hope that I am still understandable.
lil bump for a miracle .
I would like to hire the right developer for a personal project.
I absolutely dislike white statusbar icons. Most, if not all substratum
themes do not touch the status bar icon color, some use overlays to
change the background though. There is a substratum overlay for wifi icons but this seems overly
complex for such a simple icon swap, and there have been changes made by google
to prevent the signal icon from being changed, at least according to the developer.
In earlier versions of Android, SystemUI.apk could be extracted along with framework-res,apk, and the
resources swapped for icons of my choosing. I am going with an AOSP rom
based on Nougat (AICP, or Resurrection). I am not working with Sense roms. My understanding is that Oreo further limited
the ability to change statusbar icons, that would be my reason for going
with Nougat. I would rather stay with an Oreo build of AICP but that is not a must.
If you are interested, I would like an estimate of the time it would
take you to:
1. Tell me which files to pull and send to you
2. Determine where the resources and/or code must be decompiled/edited to make this
work, that is, signal, wifi, other icons of my choosing. I can provide the icon files.
3. Send me the edited files
4. I will test
5. Work with me to handle the bugs
6. Once we have a working setup, draft an outline of what you did which
would enable me to decompile/edit the appropriate apks or files so I can
do this myself later with different icons.
A bit about me:
I am tech savvy, familiar with the linux command line, adb, etc.
I am working with AOSP roms on a HTC M9. Rooted, S-OFF, it is a GSM
variant (himaul). But I am not a software developer.
I am not looking for an app to do this for me. But I am seeking out the expertise
to reverse engineer what I need to make this happen and do it manually.
In my hours of pouring over xda I read somewhere the inability to choose
the icons is a google policy. I can't stand the modern UI white, washed
out colors but themeing can take care of most of that. In case you ask,
I'm currently on 4.3 on a HTC M7 from 2014 and I have got to get going with a newer
device.
I realize your time is valuable and this will not be a trivial task (or expense)....I only ask you to reply having enough familiarity to dive in without too much OJT.
Please do include your hourly rate. I would have no problem if this work is made GPL and free to post here, if you like.
Thanks!!
I'm wondering..
I am used to root every phone I get. Not a programmer at all, so I rely on guides and tutorials.
I read somewhere it's not possible to get an access to the bootloader so I assume we won't get customized roms in the near future.
So, assuming it's true, what is the best way to manipulate the OS?
My main problem is the DISPLAY - it's just too big! I changed it to the smallest width in the developer menu, but it didn't solve everything as the height remains the same so everything is just "spaced out"...
And fonts! The options available (Theme manager, launcher) change the fonts only superficially (i.e. some apps still use the default fonts)...
Any suggestions/ insights?...
