Google wallet and block c - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

With the recent fcc ruling stating that verizon couldn't block tethering apps how can they still block wallet? Is it not the same thing?

Yes, there is a thread pinned at the top of the general forum. It works fine, I've been using wallet on my VZW S3 for a few weeks now.

I cannot. No matter what I do I get error adding Citi card. Got free 10 bucks and used that fine. Just can't get card added.
I did have it added when I rooted using some sprint hybrid root then redid it using root 66. Have not been able to add card back. Even called Citi and had them remove card still did not work. Don't think card issue because I added to nexus 7 just fine. Don't know what the issue is. I followed directions perfectly.

Looks like Citi may be having issues. I'm having the same problem along with at least one other in the Google Wallet thread in the AT&T GSIII forums and there's also a thread in the Evo 4GLTE forum.

If so they have been for last five days or so....

It's weird because it's obviously communicating with Citi as everytime I try to redo the card, I get a pending authorization on my account but it just Google Wallet sits there hung on "Verifying your account". Didn't have any issue with the old hacked version but the new one refuses to work. Maybe they're only allowing certain devices?

(NOT) working google wallet

I found this over in the int. one x forums. it's a hacked google wallet apk. I tryed it, does install. have not tryed to buy anything yet...
I take no credit for this, just sharing link.

Same here, not working. Was really looking forward to using this too...

Nice find, I'll check it out in a bit
It won't work. The AT&T version stores NFC secure element keys differently than the International versions. I think it is in two separate files for ISIS

bummer, got to love having this useless device (nfc) in my phone, Google made an easy way to use it and AT&T blocks it for a product that probably won't be out until I am eligible for another upgrade
boo
Quick question: does the Rogers version block google wallet too? is rogers jumping on this isis bandwagon?
Has anyone tried it on something other than Stock?

IDEA: Some are saying that AT&T is blocking wallet from working even if you got it installed and registered.
Some have also mentioned vpns working though, so could we hypothetically use that Onavo Extend app to get past it? Once we figure the app itself out I mean...

Actually Hayos,
It is more of AT&T disabled the feature of our phones, since they are in development of their own system for NFC, where as for each "swipe" they get a piece of the transaction. But true it does NOT have good enough security features for the system as of yet.
This has been discussed at length in the threads. The SIM card does not have a required secure element and therefore it will not work on the phone. AT&T won't upgrade your SIM card to one with the secure element because they want you to upgrade to a new phone that will eventually work with Google Wallet.
IT IS NOT GOING TO WORK ON THE SKYROCKET.

Carriers...
This is a move by the carriers to enforce their move to go with the ISIS Digital Wallet. I have a Google Wallet ID setup and use it for the Play Store, but Google had A LOT of issues with security early on that scared a lot of carriers and users away alike....
Of course, the carriers get a piece of the pie from ISIS and with Google Wallet they were bypassed... hence.... the inability to use our device on said networks.... Sucks but its the reality of it all...
BTW - there is an APK that floats around saying it will make it work with your Skyrocket...
I can't stress this enough... I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE YOU INSTALL AN APP THAT HAS ACCESS TO YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION, INCLUDING GOOGLE WALLET (MODIFIED)
If you do, you are just asking for it... and besides.... it won't work....
Onward....

That's not entirely true. The reason your SIM works in the nexus is because the secure element is built into that phone. It is not built into the skyrocket, so we need the element put elsewhere...like a new SIM.

This actually makes sense considering it's a T-Mobile ROM but I would think that the APN would prevent this check from validating? Excellent find if this is 100% true!

What i did was flash this AND ktoonsez kernal, i selected the wicked rom and then added another zip and flashed them in sequence, rebooted, put in my att apn settings and loged into dropbox and got that email.

I work with this guy that posted it, he showed me, it is legit, I am going to install tonight....yes! Nice find for sure.
I'm not trying to be a party pooper here guys, but be careful with this. Certain carriers, including AT&T (US) have opted out of the Dropbox promotions. Now normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but the promotions are for free space "if" you are on certain carriers. The drop box folks have been known to get a little upset when free space is activated on non-qualified phones. I've seen it happen in the Skyrocket forums. Personally, I think it is great, but it's not the kind of thing I would be advertising openly (maybe PMs for more info would be better) and I'm not sure how the forum rules apply here either. Just giving a heads up maybe it's nothing to worry about, but I wouldn't take chances.
When using this tmobile rom on at&t how do you install the LTE apn settings for AT&T?
Sent from my SGH-I337 using xda premium

Isis app

Well, now Isis is available for everyone, but of course, at least in the case of Verizon, they have blocked rooted devices from being eligible. This is the only reason I miss my GNex...tap to pay. First wallet is strangled, now Isis, before most of the US even had a chance to try it.

I signed up to test it out but their fee page is not really clear. They have that small banner that says fees start in December but then there is the section that says American Express Serve with ISIS that says there is no fees if you add your card to ISIS. I'm hoping there is no fee (it's a dollar and supposedly you won't get charge if you have no balance) so we'll see what happens in December. If they charge a fee I'll close the account.

Ah. Well, I guess you could transfer some money to the wallet balance and see if it works. I'll try it in the morning and report back.
Go into the settings for tap and pay and tell it to use the backup funding instead of your Google wallet balance.
