I'm currently running Synergy 1.3 and would like to replace the stock TouchWiz message app with the one from CM9/AOSP. I've already extracted the Mms.apk from another ROM, but can't find out how to replace the original TouchWiz one, as there's not even an Mms.apk in the system/app folder. I was able to successfully push the file to system/app with adb, but couldn't find it once I booted phone. Thanks much!
Its something like Secmms.apk try to rename the Asop or Cm message apk to that and place in System/app. Be sure to create a backup of the original.
YMMV
But it worked for me switched out original Message app for I think a AOKP?
If I helped you can feel free to hit the "Thanks" button!

Thanks!
That did the trick. Didn't realize Samsung changed up all the naming conventions for the system apps vs. AOSP. Thanks again!
Thank you VERY much as I am now running AOKP SMS which is far superior to TW (in my opinion at least).

First of all: I did not make this myself!
Found this a while ago for the DjDroid Android 2.2 Release packed together with WiFi-N Driver and some other stuff.
I just repacked this, so only the Circle-Battery is installed without the other stuff around.
All Credits to the developer (name not known)!
This should work on odexed and de-odexed ROM's afaik.
Of course, you see the amount of battery remaining in percent in the middle of the circle.
EDIT:
Sorry for the trouble at the moment. Seems like the Update forces you, to reenter the Mobile-Network APN Settings. I will try to fix this

I just installed it though, and I appear to have now lost my HDSPA icon. Instead I get a picture of a phone with 5 bars underneath it?
Hi debug77,
would be helpful, if you could post a screenshot of this. Please let me know, what kind of ROM you got running, perhaps I can help you with another file fitting for your ROM

This is a notification Icon set that I created based off of the Gingerbread Icons. I decided to post a zip file with all the icons in it so that a user can add them to the files they have on there own phone. This will preserve any custom modifications made to those files. Please enjoy and if you use them in a theme or anywhere else please make sure to credit me. Below is a pdf with the instructions on how to get the icons in the files and install them with a flashable zip. If you have any questions please send me a PM I will try to answer it ASAP. Most of the users on XDA are pretty advanced so I think the instructions will be nothing new or different from modify the files in other ways.
Enjoy! AND ALWAYS DO A BACKUP BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO CHANGE ANYTHING!

having trouble witht he zip link
I just tried it and it fully downloaded
Ok, I just tried it again and it worked. Thanks!
I followed all the steps and it looks like the only icon that actually changed was the signal bars...hmm
what icons did you copy over and did you put them in the right files?
Has anyone ported the honeycomb boot animation like from the Galaxy tab forum over to the eee pad?
I think it would look awesome on our 10" tabs
I'm trying to edit it right now to better fit our screen size
OK here it is.
-Rename to bootanimation.zip
-Push to system/media or data/local
-I prefer data/local since it leave the default bootanimation alone and you can revert back
by simply deleting the one in data/local.

To install you need to be rooted, just copy mms.apk into system/app on root of phone, youll have to overwrite the original obviously, probably wise to make a copy if you want to go back. Once copied change permission to rw-r--r-- then reboot your phone and it will be changed with new smileys, apk is attached to post.
Nice, Screenshot in OP showing new smileys would be better
Edit- check post #4.
I have put a screenshot, can you not see it?

Here is my recompiled framwork-res and systemui APK files for S7500T.
There is a mash up of different peoples image sets, xml edits and so on, so I do not take credit for the work, just recompiling to my liking.
Please have made a backup before pushing any of these files over to your device.
I am running Gingerbread 2.3.6 DVLK1
Just as a side note to people using this device with the (T) on the end in Australia, to install a custom ROM you will need to replace the ROMs boot.img with the one from our phone.

Also, what launcher/theme are you using to get this dock icons on the screenshots?
Hi thanks for the reply, I am using launcher pro plus (free version works fine) with some custom icons. I can track down the icon set to if you like.
Sent from my GT-S7500T using xda app-developers app
www65.zippyshare.com /v/ 67080828/file.html <-- for the dock icons, then just download launcher pro from the store.
