Miui.us.2.7.20 no goggle/play store - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all,
Since I am a new member I can only post question here about Miui instead of in the developer's forum. I flashed the Miui 2.7.20 a few days ago, everything looks/works great, except for 1 thing: I cannot specify my goggle account and the Play Store does not work.
I followed the instruction to the dot:
1) wiped everything (data/factory reset, cache, dlvlink, formatted /boot)
2) installed the rom (install from zip)
3) rebooted into recovery
4) installed gapps
5) reboot into Miui
6) installed play store apk,
but under setting->account, I cannot specify a goggle login, the option is simply not there.
any idea how to fix this problem?
I just rooted my P500 a few weeks and this is my 2nd ICS ROM that I am toying with.
thanks in advance,

Be sure you flashed a ICS gapps version. After that, check if you have a gmail app. Open it and you should be prompted to enter an account. after you enter the account the playstore icon will appear.

You have to flash gapps . There is no need of installing from apk

1. Did you flash Gapps
2. Did you do a full wipe before flashing aokp
3. Have you tried to clear cache and wipe data under google play app managment in settings.

No - just search the forum and google for a tutorial. Where do i find the google pack for my device
2. Did you do a full wipe before flashing aokp
Think so, because i did it step by step and followed all instructions.
3. Have you tried to clear cache and wipe data under google play app managment in settings.
How do i do that?

Thx for your answer and sorry for the "stupid" questions, i am totally new to this.
Its not a stupid question its quite a common problem. For gapps you can get them here, i am not sure if the rom you are running is Gb or ICS but you will need to download the relvent gapps for the relvent firmware.
Gapps - gapps gives you all the apps from google like google play, maps, google music, google search e.t.c
Are you able to get an error message with "adb logcat" when plugged in to the computer? Often it won't show the actual error on the screen. If you still get the error please post

Gapps problem after updating Cyanogen mod

I just updated Cyanogen mod from 10.1 to 10.2.0-d2vzw, which updated the phone from Android 4.2 to 4.3, which requires a new gapps. So I downloaded gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip, which is what cyanogenmod’s website said to use, and put the .zip file on my SD card. I then told cyanogenmod to go ahead with the update, and it proceeded to reboot the phone into TWRP and install the update without giving me a chance to select the new gapps. The phone then rebooted as normal into a working Android 4.3, but Keep, Hangouts, Google Drive, etc crash immediately. I figured this was because I did not get to install the new gapps, so I manually boot into TWRP and install the new gapps only. After the installation is done, I reboot my phone successfully, but I still have the same problem where Keep, Hangouts, Google Drive, and maybe others are still crashing. The play store does seem to work now though. What steps should I take to fix these apps? I do have root access. Thanks!

Color os by Avenger 4 droid - problems I faced (jb out of box) and solutions

Hi everybody
Reason for post:
I recently flashed color os by Avenger4droid. Here is the link :
Disclaimer : I donot own the Rom or the patch on that page. Those are the property of Avenger4droid.
FYI, I'm on a jb out of the box device. I faced the following problems and found no solution for them on that thread and as I'm a junior member (Total noob really. I'm a medico, you see) I couldn't post there (XDA rules). So I decided to make a thread to help any unfortunate souls like me who've spent hours searching for solutions.
Now, I'll first describe what I did, the bugs I faced at each step and the solutions.
What I did:
1. wipe data, wipe dalvik cache, format system
2. install Rom zip.
3. Reboot ( Note: I didnot flash playstore patch provided by Avenger4droid sir)
What happened:
1. boots fine
2. play store problem. shows "no connection- retry"
3. camera - can't connect to camera
4. calculator fc
5. no google bookmarks sync
6. supersu problem. cant update binaries. so no root
What I tried:
1
1)Flashed bindass boost kernel v 2.7
It bootlooped
2
(now , there is a color os rom by [email protected] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2779033
this is the thread link. He has a patch for jb out of the box.) All credits to [email protected] sir who developed the Rom and the patch in the above given link.
1)flashed ROM again (after wiping dat, dalvik and formatting system)
2) flashed the patch immediately after flashing the rom
result: camera opens, connects. But it Fcs
3
1) flashed ROM again (after wiping, formatting)
2) let it reboot
3) finished setup
4) rebooted to recovery'
5)flashed the above said patch
6) rebooted
Result: Camera works:victory:
4
1)downloaded latest super su zip from chainfire - I'm not sure I'm allowed to post the link
2) rebooted to recovery
3) flashed zip
4)rebooted
Result: super su works. Root access gained. Root problem solved!:victory:
5
for google play store
1) tried the patch in the original thread
result :didnot work. When I checked in Titanium backup, google services framework was missing.
This is what happened after I flashed the patch
I opened the google paystore apk.
It entered account setup, which I did
But once again, no connection.
6
1) So, I flashed everything again. Followed all my steps upto the fix for Root access
2) Rebooted recovery.once again flashed the pach provided by avenger4droid
3) Rebooted.
4) did not open playstore.
5) googled : google services framework apk
downloaded it from a 4 shared link. I'm not allowed to post external links. So, I'll tell you. It is the first search result when you google for "google services framework apk" It contains google services framework 2.21 apk
6) installed it.
7) opened play store
8)went through account set up steps
(9) important : Playstore opned. End user agreement popped up. This didnot happen last time
10) agreed. playstore works:victory:
7
for calculator fc, uninstall calculator using titanium backup
install any calculator app from now working play store
Done:victory:
Hope it helps
No disrespect intended to @Avenger4droid sir. Your patch did not work for me. That is all. Hope you are not offended.
Thanks
Hi,
I was planning to flash a rom based on Color OS, this helped. Thanks :good:

[Completed] [Q] Impossible to install GAPPS for Slimbean ROM

I have a rooted HTC Desire X.
I installed slimbean from scratch following the instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-desire-x/development/rom-slimbean-3-1-unofficial-t2842487
1.- Wipe everything from TWRP, factory reset, internal storage and system.
2.- Install slim-0.1-protou-090814.zip and gapps-jb-20121011-signed
3.- Reboot
After reboot I connect the smartphone to the wifi and when I try to open Play Store it opens and closes by itself.
I tryed everything! Clearing apps cahe, factory reset from TWRP after installation, updating Play Store and Play services from Aptoide, installing gapps-jb-20130813-signed, installed cm10 instead of slimbean... All with the same result.
The only way I could make Google Play to open was with MIUI ROM. But this ROM is only in english, german and chineese and has a lot of bugs.
I think that the problem is that I can't add my gmail account for some reasson, maybe a play services problem. If I go to settings/accounts and press + button nothing happens.
Please I would appreciate help because now I have an unusefull device.

Your best bet is to ask in the thread you got the ROM from or to post in the Q&A section of your device.
Have you tried turning off wifi to connect to Play? I see this was an issue previously and not sure it was fixed on SlimBean, but is fixed on SlimKat.

Thank you for your interest KennyG123,
Yes, I tryed to open it without connection to the Internet and it does the same.
It's a good advice, I will post this in the slim ROM for HTC Desire X threat since I think this should be a general problem, because I haven't installed nothing else.
I tryed to post this problem in the main slimbean threat but no one is answering there anymore so I keep trying.
I instaled cyanogenmod 10.2 with gapps-jb-20130813
I have the same problem but i found out that the problem is that I can't sign in with my Gmail account.
CM12 has a first set up menú that opens the first time you load android after flashing it. In this menú I am asked to enter my Gmail account but when i press add Nothing happends. So I can only ignore this step to continúe.
If I go to settings/accounts/+add account i go to another menú mail/work account/cyanogenmod/google. If I press Google it goes to the previous screen.
It looks like if gapps doesn't work for this old ROMs anymore.

Problems with gapps on CM13

Hi together,
after flashing the open gapps I got this:
"Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped"" application crashed message
I tried the full -> Error 70
only the nano could be flashed and after reboot I got the same error: "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped"" application crashed message
I also tried to wipe ... no changes ..
what can I do to get gapps running on CM13?
Hi,
with the installation cm-13.0-20151128-NIGHTLY-hammerhead.zip I have the same problem... When the phone turns on I got the same error "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped", You have two options REPORT ERROR and OK, if I press OK then immediately displays the same error msg. and you can not continue..
what is the solution?

This problem is about permissions.Go to settings , apps , show system apps , tap setup wizard and give all permissions to it.

thanks that solved the problem with the setup wizard ...
and now I can run playstore but can't download apps - I got the error: Error while fetching information from Server
solved! ... deleted google accound and remapped
Only the Setup wizard popup stops coming. Thanks for that.
There is a random popup about Google Play services which disappears on its own. I have given all permissions to the Google Play services app using the same steps as provided earlier. Still the same.
Please help.
Also in addition to this, there is a fix given by the OpenGAPPS team on GitHub as Notes for Android 6.0 (Sorry, cannot post link as this is my first post).
Can anyone help me patch this file onto my device (LG Nexus 5)?
Thanks in advance.
Maybe try different versions of gapps? I use the latest pico version and it works on the latest nightly.
I tried, micro, pico, stock.. All with same results. I was using nightly that came out on 12/02/2015.
Currently I reverted back to cm12.1 as I need to use the phone for day to day stuff. Please let me know if the latest nightly does actually fix this. And also which gapps, I will download the specified file and let you know by weekend.
Thanks for the help!
Try these gapps: http://opengapps.org
Yes I was using gapps from this site. I just need confirmation if the new cm13 nightly actually fixes the issue.
I guess it's not even with Cyanogen to fix the issue. The gapps when installed (flashed) , don't get the desired permissions to execute. It should be the a new gapps build released by opengapps. Still, I will keep searching.
PS: please look at the fix given by gapps team. I also don't know where to modify that code.
Here is how i got it to work.
1) Boot to recovery
2) Do a full wipe (Data,System,Cache,Dalvik)
3)Flash CM13
4)Do a wipe (Cache,Dalvik)
5)Flash GAPPS ( I used pico from Open Gapps)
6)Do a wipe (Cache,Dalvik)
7) Do a Factory Reset.
8) Reboot !
That should do it, Don't complain about useless wipes after trying for 2 days this finally worked !
I have my lovely G3 back
Good Luck !
I got it to work to flash it together with the ROM.
Cheers
I managed to make it work by installing CM13, in recovery mount /system and check how much space left on you system partition. After that you can choose the maximum size Gapps that fits the free space.
Wipe all excluding sdcard and USB-OTG. Install CM13 and Gapps together.
After reboot the wizard will not crash.
Other option is risky and can turn your phone into a break This is option is to resize /system to make it bigger.
I used the latest nightly CM13 for Xiaomi Mi4 and twrp-2.8.7.0-cancro
Solved

Thanks. This worked for me, although I had 2 Setup Wizard apps. The one with the CM logo had no permissions that needed assigning. The other one did. Once permissions were given, the issue went away. It was tricky to do it between the error dialogs appearing. What helped was switching to the guest account and back, then, occasionally, you had enough time to work the settings.
Had those Problems often, don't know why.
I just delete the settingwizard.apk in twrp (mount system, then system/priv-app if I remember).
Worked Several Times for me - you must do that always After flashing gapps!
My Fix....worked for me on HTC One M8
NOTE: Ensure you have a NANDROID backup BEFORE proceeding with the below, just in case something goes wrong
1. Ensure that you have all required files (CM13 Zip and Open GAPP Zip) saved to your phone (internal or SD card)
2. In my case, I used TWRP, so ensure you have the latest one
3. Boot into TWRP recovery
4. Using ‘WIPE’ option, select ‘Advance’ and choose: Data, Dalvik, Cache, System
5. Using ‘INSTALL’ option, Install CM13 via TWRP
6. DO NOT BOOT UP PHONE JUST YET
7. Perform a Cache and Dalvik wipe
8. Using ‘INSTALL’ option, Install GAPP Zip via TWRP (I used GAPP mini due to space)
9. Now you may reboot the phone.
The solved the ‘Setup not working’ issue for me and my phone is now working like a charm with CM13 and google apps! I have a HTC One M8 FYI
ThankYou So MUCH!
