i've had such a pain in the ass trying to clear this thing out... i've cleared data, called vm and cleared it all out, restarted the phone and nothing... that stuipd little icon doesn't go away... this is on a bone stock phone too... anyone have a clue about this??? =\
I'm rooted running the Bean ROM and it at times would do the same thing, but hasn't been as of late.
Sorry, no help to you on yours.

I wanna know is how in the hell to fix this issue. It's annoying enough to make me want to go throw my phone through a Sprint store window. Anyone have any ideas?
com.android.mms has stopped
com.handcent.nextsms has stopped
com.android.phone has stopped
The radio resets, the wallpaper and other settings reset. This mostly happens while texting. It's not Handcent cause it does it with stock texting and with Chomp also. This started to happen with the first update. Samsung and Sprint still will not update to 2.2

If you are still running stock ROM and Kernel, back up everything and do a factory restore/hard reset. If not, use Odin to go back to 100% stock and try again. If you are still getting these FC's, you're best bet is to take the phone back to Sprint and tell them they f'ed up.
I would suggest what thomas just suggested. Sounds like you got a bad install. Start fresh. If problem continues I would return the phone. 2.2 is coming and it wouldn't did this problem since its unique to your phone and like I said it sounds like the update install correctly. Most likely an error on your part

do a hard reset.
but sounds to me like your rooted and forgot to wipe all your data and cache.
as ive never heard of anyone doing a normal update and getting this.
however anythings possible with these phones. so just do as suggested and youll be fine.

I havent actually done anything to the phone at all. Just let the normal updates install. No rooting or anything else. Someone at Sprint said it could be an app that doesnt like the most current version but I uninstalled one by one and still have the problem. Right now it's running 2.1 Update 1 Build DI18 It never did it until the updates started coming.

If this has been asked and answered somewhere else I do apologize, I couldn't find anything about it.
I bought this thunderbolt a few days ago, everything worked fine and flawless minus the few lock ups on the keyboard when trying to text(if someone knows the answer to that too it'd be appreciated). Anyways, I tried rooting with an easy root method on here. Got through step one and then failed from then on. So I gave up and let it reboot up. It wiped all my data so I went through, re downloaded all the apps I wanted and such. Now, when my phone is sitting locked with the screen off it'll make a random notification sound like I have an SMS message when I don't. I've also received a text, it played the tone fine, I checked the text and it made the sound again.
If anyone knows how to fix this it'd be appreciated, other than just putting it on silent, it's not a big deal just kind of annoying when I think I keep getting texts when I don't
Did you do a factory reset after the root failed? If not, try it. It will delete all your stuff on the phone but not the memory card.
Menu-settings-sd & phone storage-factory data reset
This should clear up both your problems...
I'm not totally sure how this works with HTC, but if I had an issue on my Droid X that couldn't be solved by a factory reset then it needed an SBF. SBF is basically the same as RUU for HTC. So you may have to flash the MR1 RUU to go back to full system stock. Read around on the development forums before you attempt anything.

I'm going to give that a look. The factory reset seemed to work, it didn't do it all day until about 5 minutes ago.
I installed the Debloated/Deodexed All-in-one package on my phone but since then, having some issues and about to run over this phone!
Is there no stock calendar? I can't seem to find it on this instal.
My email will NOT compose. I hit menu, then compose, then nothing happens. Worst part, my browser does not load. It opens for a second, then force closes. A ton of apps wont load right or get shut down. I love having the phone rooted, but with no email or web browser, this is worthless.
Any help? I greatly appreciate it
I am currently running danalo's debloated/deodexed all in one with zero problems. I switch between tweakstock and they are head to head. Try reflashing? did you wipe data/cache?

Tried it all, still nada
Non root related, my phone in terms of being able to answer calls and texts is horrible. Yesterday had a friend call me a dozen times, my phone didn't ring once. Today after I reinstal again, about 10 texts come through and 3 voicemails. This has been happening since I got the phone and because I dropped it and has a small crack, Verizon wont cover it for repair and have to ship my phone to Sanding and wait 6-8 weeks.
WTF?!?
BG: Running Eclipse 1.4 with PBJ kernel. Yesterday I used my phone til it ran out of battery. Out for a few hours and end up at my parents for dinner. Brought the USB cord so i plug it into my Mom's laptop to let it charge over night. I take it off the charger this morning and turn it on...
First thing that happens is it wants me to set up a google account "touch the android" as if I had wiped data. I hit skip, see that one account is still connected, and all my apps are in the drawer. Most of them F/C when I try to run them. So I decide to restore from CWM. Went back to Tweakstock (Guess I never got around to backing up on eclipse) and then went back to CWM and flashed Eclipse again. Now, some android.acore keeps f/cing, as well as all gapps, google framework junk, the eclipse keyboard if i switch from swype, my contacts, etc. Titanium backup doesn't find root. Superuser seems to be working. So I try flashing eclipse again to no avail.
I noticed after this morning that Verizon data widget wanted to be updated. Looked into that a bit and it seems it MAY be to blame, God knows how...
Anyone experience this before? What should my next steps be. I'm thinking back to stock through odin w/ PIT file and work from there?

Sounds like something corrupted in /system area, that's why you back to factory setup screen. To prevent long term issue, I would do the clean slate back to stock with PIT file. Make sure you follow instruction carefully with PIT file.
I couldn't figure anything else out so I went ahead back to stock, and as it's been a while, rooted following a pretty awesome guide at chargeforums.
Still on stock rom but everything seems to be running smooth. From here I will cwm back to eclipse and see how it goes over the next few days. I really have no idea what happened but the last person to touch my phone before it died was my gf so I've had some fun picking on her for breaking my phone. Literally nothing was working earlier so she thought she really messed it up bad.

After you fixed your phone, she probably think you're a smart guy and give you more...."love".
I have done a few searches here and been searching all night. My company is moving from Sprint to Verizon and as our salesforce si out in the field I selected the razr maxx for the battery life.
I got mine yesterday as I am the systems admin and started to play with it. My fault for what happened totally but I'm hoping soemone here can help me.
I installed a Launcher Pro based "HTC Sense" clone, an HTC sense flip clock and the Agile Locker. After this I got the update for 6.5.1-73_SPU-11M1-2, (Im guessing thats right as I took it from the screenshot http://www.xda-developers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Jsh9vl.jpg?139d23 there, but Im fairly certain it was 6.5), The phone totally froze on the Dual core boot screen. It was like that all night as I passed out. When I woke up I foundf out how to hard reset the phone (http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=49625). I then tried to uninnstall the apps but the phone signal and 4g was shut off and the live wallpaper (stock one) was all funky. I decided to factory reset it. I factory reset it but not the memory card.
After all of this its still freezing totally (right after I skipped the verizon remember my contacts stuff) so I got back into it and reset it again.
This is where I am now. I am going to try to set it up again, but if it keeps freezing thats not gonna be good.
On another note, I would LOVE to try ICS on it, but I dunno if thats such a great idea on a phone that seems to be broken despite factory resets.
Im sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area. Please let me know if I should repost or move my post. Thanks in advance for anyones thoughts or help!!!
EDIT: I have factory reset it and its still frozen. I am going to have to return it.
