so I'm loving the new phone been flashing all the roms thought i messed up my IMEI but I'm good cause its back and looks normal. But ever since I flashed CM9 and did a battery pull during activation (I know I know) I no longer get 4G on my phone. when i switch it manually to 4G with Phone Info I can get data and go on web, but when I go to make calls it says I can not because no coverage.
I called VZW today, and got my up to 2ed teir, and they said that this is known issue with the SG3 and there are many complaints, and they are working with Samsung to correct this and said a software update will be coming out to fix this.. has any one else experienced this? I'm thinking I need a new sim?
has anyone been able to fix this, I looked at my radio and its not the most recent version... could this be causing the issue
i got best buy to replace my gs3 because of no 4g, i still was within my 30 day return period though... pretty sure i could of used phone info to fix it back to 4g, i didn't try because i wanted a new gs3, never had any issued connecting to 4g with new gs3, exept when i play around with cm10 or other jelly bean roms
I lost my 4G connection last night and most of today, ended up flashing a stock rom (then lost all data connection) drove all the way to the verizon store to get a new sim card, put the phone into airplane mode and when it came out of that i had full connection again. Not sure what caused it.

I have 2 Galaxy S3 and they both did the same thing when I switched the sim cards, I cannot get back to 4G
and I AM NOT EVEN ROOTED, thats sad very sad
I had a similar issue when using a third party 3g toggle in Quicker. Ever since then no data or vice capabilities.
sorry - did not know anyone was posting here, I started posting in the one in Q&A... There are too many 4G threads!
I fixed mine by getting a new sim card.

I'm not experiencing no 4g, but I am experiencing a horrible connection.... This is my second gs3. My first one did not experience these connection issues, and I'm pretty sure I'm using the same sim card (I exchanged it at the store and wasn't paying attention when they were setting it up...).
Maybe I have another faulty device?

I would start with a new sim, just walk into a store and say you are having connection issues and vzw said to get a new sim
No 4G fix - you've punked you SIM card!

Easy fix (just copied from a post elsewhere): save everything you have open, pop up your dialer, and type *2767*3855# - which resets (it says "Reformat" on an ugly red screen that flashes by in a heartbeat, just go with it) your SIM card and therefore your 4G capabilities. It will immediately reboot and - "tada", you have 4G service again.

copied form the IMEI backup thread right? I did this and it did not work for me, the only thing that worked was getting a new SIM.
Just trying to help narrow down why people are getting this. Just posted this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30913011#post30913011
In the other "No 4G" thread. Anyone who loose their 4G use lucky patcher and TiBu?
Need help with my issue. Here's my rundown: I tried to use my Infuse on Straight Talk. Before when it was on At&t, I flashed roms dozens of times with no issues. I was on CyberRom 4.2.2 forever, but the battery seemed to be running down fast. So at the same time I tried to get on the Straight Talk Sim Card program, I flashed my phone to Beanstalk 4.3 and then CM 11, 4.4. When I flashed over to CM 11, the phone called out but all I got was silence and the phone was stuck. Took the battery out and turned it back on and my IMEI has been gone ever since. I tried every single tool and trick here on XDA, everything I could find on youtube, and even other Android sites. Nothing worked. I either had a null/null IMEI or nothing at all when I dialed *#06#. The phone has been doing this since right before Thanksgiving and I have just been using it as a media player. The other day I switched the microSD card to get something off of another one and just like that I have signal bars. The baseband had a value and the IMEI was all zeroes. I got a little excited because there were at least signal bars showing instead of that damn dreaded circle with a line through it. So I decided to try the GTG Unbrick package and TruckerGlenn's efs.tar file. I found a froyo package and flashed that with the efs.tar file. All of a sudden I had an IMEI back with a baseband and everything!!!! I was really excited. But I noticed that A) when I compared the IMEI in my phone to what's under the battery, they are two different IMEI numbers...........and B) if i turn the phone off and turn it back on, the IMEI is gone again. It's like it's very unstable. I called Straight Talk to have them send me a replacement SIM card (now I'm using my Straight Talk on an old HTC EVO 4G, uuughhh!!) and now it seems like I won't even be able to use my Infuse. I love this phone and have enjoyed the flashing lifestyle on it, by far one of the easiest phones I've ever flashed. I need your help please. And yes I have spent almost two months looking and reading every page of every thread about lost IMEI's. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, may even buy you a bee.......a cup of coffee.....lol. Thanks
Hey I have i747 Galaxy unlock. I bought a sim and it was working until i got home. When i got home the signal totally dropped ..When i got the school it picks up back again at certain parts of school. How can i fix this. I am not a techy . so i would need a step by step guide. I have already rooted the device. I am in Jamaica an di bought the ohone in the States and unable to send it back. What should i do.
I already tried to pulling the battery and removing the sim.
I tried changing to GSM only
I tired restoring the phone and nothing works
my friend was also trying to flash a modem on but it deletes the efs files. he said he tried to back up the efs file and it still not working.
i am in a corner here
So I don't know what I was thinking, but last week while on the T-Mobile test run I tried to use the T-Mobile iPhone sim in my m8. I also tried using the VZW sim in the T-Mobile iPhone. Nothing worked. This isn't the problem.
After putting the VZW sim back in my m8, I no longer got 4G and my data connection kept dropping. This Sunday I spend 2 hours at the Verizon store trying to get them to resolve the issue. The idiot at the Verizon store tried to resolve the issue for over an hour using the original sim. After me begging him to stop wasting time and just replace the sim, the issue is still not resolved.
When he originally checked my phone in the database it was coming up as something like "Unknown device" which I'm assuming was caused by placing my sim in the T-Mobile iPhone. After replacing the sim, the IMEI and everything else seemed to be matching according to the guys at Verizon, but I still don't have 4G and data keeps dropping..
Any ideas?
I'm running a GPE rom so I'm wondering if I have to go back to stock to resolve this issue...
Probably need to flash stock recovery and do a factory reset from it. Might not need to fully flash back.
I had this same issue. I would love to fix it but I moved to a OnePlus One on T-Mo. I'd love to get this resolved though.
A few weeks ago I started having signal losses on my D820, later on it stopped detecting my SIM card altogether after I reset it.
It's been going on-and-off until about 2 weeks ago when a factory reset and cache wipe seemed to have fixed the problem - or so I thought - until it happened again today in what seems to be a permanent metamorphosis of my phone into an over-glorified 5" tablet with NFC.
So I started snooping around the googles, seems to be a common problem.
(can't post links yet but google isn't lacking results under "nexus 5 no sim no signal" and "Nexus 5 SIM not recognizing")
So far none of the "Turn airplane mode on and off" or "Reinsert the SIM / clean the slot" tech support quotes helped. The phone is physically intact, and none of the 3 SIMs I have in my disposal get any signal on the device in the rare case they even get recognized (My brother's G4 works fine with all 3). I did a few full factory flashes - ROM, Radio, recovery, everything (M4B30Z - latest 6.0.1, MMB29S, and even went back to 5.1.1 LMY48M). Also tried the latest CM13 snapshot, later on with a factory radio image on top but absolutely nothing. The CM ROM managed to consistently read the SIM but it didn't get any signal.
I would highly appreciate any information or insights, and even though I'm not exactly an expert I will be more than happy to help troubleshooting this jazz.
The phone shows the correct IMEI#? Phone is not blacklisted for some reason?

No reason to believe it is. Had it for over a year now, came unlocked without any contract with in closed packaging from a trusted retailer, IEMI was fine on the day of purchase.
It shows the correct imei via dialler?
Did you check imei on blacklist checker on swappa? Not likely to be blacklisted but you may as well rule it out.
If it's not blacklisted and can't be resolved via flashing roms, it could be a hardware failure.
The IEMI is fine and the phone is clean.
It could be hardware but that doesn't explain the problem being temporarily solved for quite a while by wiping the system, and a lot of the users complaining stated they started having the problem after upgrading to 6.0.1.
I've been running on stock unrooted MM for a while with no problems. A couple of people at work also run stock MM without an issue. I wonder if the problem is related to a particular batch.
