skyrocket keeps rebooting every 1 or 2 minutes - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I have a strange issue with my samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket AT&T, it keeps on rebooting every one or two minutes, by itself.
I have been busy with this for two days without success, I tried the following:
- unstalling apps: not working, after any reboot (automatic or manual) the apps reappear again.
- using Odin to install another rom. Not working, even after a green success signal in Odin, the phone reboots and nothing has changed. All (many) apps that I installed still are present, the same settings etc, everything is the same. I tried to install different ROMS with Odin, without any effect.
- deleting all folders and files when the phone is plugged in the pc,...after phone reboot all folders and files re-appear again, nothing changed.
Assistance with this issue is very welcome.
Thank you

I've seen this issue before with it rebooting because of a stuck power button. Not sure if that would be the culprit in your situation or not. Especially with folders re-appearing and what not.

sounds like the same as this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751338
possible fix Using loop devices to workaround corrupt eMMC partitions

Had the issue before. Never pinpointed the exact cause, but I moved all my pics/music/crap I wanted to keep to my external and went ape chyt on wiping. Formatted internal via the comp, then went into mounts & wiped everything! Fresh install & only reinstalled apps (no data) with titanium. Been smooth sailing since.

The workaround in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1704646 is too complicated for me. I'm not a programmer, just a regular user that knows how to use Odin and install a custom ROM, but that's it. I guess I have to return it under warranty by AT&T
Although I would like to erase everything (i got a backup). At the moment all data, apps, email and phone numbers are visible when booting up (at least for 1 or two minutes before it reboots by itself) and I don't like them at ATT checking that out.

then try bricking it, use odin and check repartition and see what happens, also see if a factory reset will wipe your data

I tried to brick it without success yet.
Odin repartitioning gives this message:
"Can't open the specified file. (Line: 1876)"
and give a FAIL
Factory reset has not effect whatsoever, all stays the same. By the way, gives this message
Error mounting /sdcard/ .android_sercure!
Any other bricking methods/tips are welcome
Thanks

try mount the sdcard, flash a tar file from another phone or a zip file from another phone like the i777, i know that it didnt write to the nand before but you never know. or learn how to use adb, maybe it can delete stuff, but i never used it so cant help u there.
u can also try to short out the usb port by touch wires inside the port as it may fry something up in the phone so it cant turn on

If you installed an app that seems chair than what it should be worth or from a random website, you could have a virus...first try uninstalling the culprit, if not, you may need to do a factory rest

I've gone through all that, factory reset, uninstalling apps etc..nothing works since after the auto reboot all changes appear to have no effect. I.e. new pictures taken are not stored after the reboot. I'm stuck with all settings and files of one particular time a week ago, that keeps on reappearing. As far as I understand this is a corrupt partition issue. But thanks for replying anyway..this issue doesn't seem to happen very often.

Nexus S storage corrupt

Hi, I'm having a lot of issue with my Nexus S so I want to reflash with full 2.3.3 image... The thing is when I mount the phone and copy the file, after I reboot the Nexus S to go in recovery... The update.zip is not there. I tried to create a folder and put some files on it... When I unmount the phone and remount it ... everything is gone except "LOST.DIR | .android_secure | Android | DCIM. The rest is gone .... Looks like the phone memory is corrupt ...
Looks like everytime the phone use the memory everything begins to crash (force close of all application) and even the phone just freeze and I need to remove the battery.
Is there any way I can save my phone? Probably a bad flash or something cause this issue (I flashed to gingerbread 2.3.3 from the file found on this forum)
If anyone is able to help.... it will be appreciate.
Thanks.
Here's something to add:
Looks like the whole storage is read-only (at some point) I'm changing some settings and after a reboot it's not kept ... backgroung is default, google account is not configured .... Even tried to factory-default again and it gives me a unable to format /system or /data I don't remember the whole line ... I was kinda stuck in the custom recovery where you can flash from /sdcard/update.zip ... I look at the mount with "adb shell" and it looks OK.
I can provide adb logcat if needed ... But any help will be appreciate ...
Thanks!
Put the phone in download mode then reflash using Odin after it boots go into settings and wipe your SD and then do a hard reset. That should fix any problems.

if you have CW recovery installed, you can use it to fix the permissions issues
Hi,
I tried the odin flash and no good... now I installed the CW recovery and tried the fix permissions... looks like it's hang... is this procedure long?? I'll leave the phone like this...
Tried to wipe to factory default and reflash... same issue has before, update.zip is not staying on the usb storage... Is there another way to fix this issue...
Thanks for your help, appreciate!

I have the exact same issue... were you able to fix it?
in the worse case scenario, in CWR advanced menu you can format the internal SD card
I'm very interested to hear how you get on with this, sounds like the infamous freezing problem that the Nexus S seems to suffer from.
Please let us know how you get on and if the suggestion above to format the internal SD with cwm works.

Bugger! I was hoping there would be another way. Out of interest, had either of you recently performed an update either ota or manual?
try fastboot oem lock and then fastboot oem unlock.
unlocking the bootloader will wipe and format ur sd card

I figured that would be the case (though not necessarily cyanogenmod related). This seems to be the common factor with all Nexus S phones suffering from the freezing issue - the problem always starts pretty soon after an update.

Do you know if there is any way of fixing it, cause I have even used odin and still nothing. Do you know what the re partition check box in odin does?
As far as I can tell there is no way to fix it, not for us users. Not even sure Samsung fix the issue, seems they just give replacements which is quite worrying.
I started a thread about the freezing issue to gather info and hopefully to find a pattern / solution to the problem. Apart from establishing that the problem seems to occur after an update in.every case, so far no dice.
I'd be delighted to hear of a fix as I feel like I'm waiting for a time bomb to go off with my Nexus S!
Ok... so after doing some reserch i decided to use adb shell to delete the sdcard partition and remake it inorder to hopefully find the error. Everytime i tried deleteing the partition, nothing happened. So i tried resizing it and then i got the error that saying
" /.../clockworkmod/backup/.../data.img is corrupt run scandisk or chkdisk. "
Two things that dont exisist or i dont know how to use on adb shell. Anyways, it seems the corrupt file was created by my clockworkmod before i updated to the new cyanogen.
That's interesting although from my own research I'm not convinced cwm is the cause of the freezing issue as there are many reports of people running into problems without having ever flashed a custom rom or recovery.
I'm glad you're trying to get to the bottom of this though, it wiuld be great for us to be able to find a solution.
I refuse to believe the only sulolution is to replace the phone - can't see this being anything but software related.
Please keep us posted.

[Q] Does anyone want to help me out yet? -_-

Okay, I'm basically going to just copy and paste my issue and edits here from the Zeus thread I couldn't get any help on. The edits are so anyone who actually read this can see what I did and have been doing so they don't suggest something I already did.
So the other day, I tried to flash to the Doctorz ROM and of course, made a Nandroid backup. After messing with Doctorz, I went back to Nandroid or clockwork recovery (whatever it is) and after restoring, I was on another modem and stock kernel. I tried to reflash Zeus and wiped partitions cache and dalvik cache and now I'm having serious issues. I have my SIM card in my phone, but it keeps telling me I don't even though it's there. Even weirder, I have one or two bars even after I pull out the SIM card. Earlier, it was detecting that I had a SIM card, but said "Invalid SIM card" or something and now whether it's there or not, my phone says it has one or two bars even though I can't do anything. What's going on??
I've tried rebooting several times and activated Wifi and airplane mode, but had no luck. SIM card's in right now, but my phone says no service.
EDIT: Forget it. I just did a factory restore and wiped everything and reflashed Zeus.
EDIT 2: Okay now I'm having other issues. My phone recognizes my SIM card again and now I'm getting my normal signal, but I can't do anything wirelessly, like send a text or use up data. It SAYS I have signal and am connected to the HSPA+ network and the arrows are flashing and whatnot, but I can't do anything wireless. I can't go into the market, send a text or use the internet browser. Someone please help?
EDIT 3: Okay, I was wrong on that last part. My texts weren't going through because of bad signal, but I definitely have no data AT ALL. All I have are a few bars, but nothing about 3g/EDGE/HSPA+. I think this is an issue with APN settings?
EDIT 4: Messed with some APN settings... kinda back to square one, where the H+ shows up and I get Edge sometimes (I have bad signal where I'm at) and the arrows are flashing, but NOTHING. I still can't use the market or any data at all.
EDIT 5: I just decided I'd try to be next to my router and turned on Wifi... my phone would not pick up a signal from my router at all, and it works just fine. I'm starting to think this is a modem-related issue...
EDIT 6: Okay, I kinda fixed the problem, but my data speeds are SUPER SLOW and sending one message takes a really long time. I know I have bad signal, but it's never been this slow, even when I manage to pull up two or three bars. I tried messing with build.prop, but as I'm on Zeus, the settings were already fixed up.
EDIT 7: Okay, the Wifi issue was because I used the wrong WEP key. Oops. After I managed to connect though, I couldn't get any data. My phone just doesn't want to use up any data apparently? I reflashed the modem Zeus normally uses and now if I manage to get some data, it's unbelievably slow and can't use Wifi data.
EDIT 8: I forgot to mention that if I don't get to connect somewhere with data, my phone will just tell me there's no data connection or whatever even though I have two bars. I tried to fix permissions and rebooted, but no luck.
Someone please help. This is really annoying.

Yeah, that's all I could come up with. Thanks anyway. I did that a few minutes ago and flashed Zeus. I'm just waiting for my phone to load up. I tried to let it load up, but it kept saying not enough data on the partition or something. I probably shouldn't have tried to flash Zeus immediately after flashing back to stock. After I went to CWM from flashing to stock, I immediately tried to flash to Zeus, but had issues. I'll take the blame for trying to rush and take shortcuts. I'll see how this goes again though.
Okay, after flashing back to stock with Odin, my phone loads up and does the "Rethink possible" thing when you turn it on and after that, nothing happens. The screen just stays off. If I press the power button, nothing happens, but if I hold it, it just reboots and goes back off. This is just annoying...
EDIT: Okay, it worked the second time. I have no idea why as I did nothing different, but it works. Now I'm gonna try to flash Zeus again.

Faint,

Gtg unbrick is prob the best option.
It's usually best to describe the system, setup, the bug and the attempt.
Then pose the bottom line question.

Well what I was asking originally was how I can fix the problem I was having, but flashing back to stock via Odin helped. Now I'm having ANOTHER issue... after FINALLY having fixed up everything, I tried to restore some stuff with Tibu, but then my phone started saying a bunch of processes were force closing or something, so I tried to reboot and now I think I'm bootlooping. I'm stuck at the "The Collective" thing that shows up when you boot up your phone and it doesn't do anything. It'll go and do what it normaly does, go black and start up again, then come to a complete stop and repeat the process. I then went to CWM and tried to wipe factory settings, cache and dalvik cache, but I'm still having this issue. Geez, it's one problem after another, and all I wanted to do was restore my apps. On the bright side, I DO KNOW flashing from Odin helped because once I regained control of my phone at the way it should be normally, I had my normal data speeds and didn't have issues with data. I'm going to try to fix this bootlooping issue now. :|
EDIT: Escaped the bootloop(?). Thank God... I honestly thought I'd have to flash back to stock with ODIN AGAIN and then redo everything.
Hey, so another question... before I flashed to stock and everything, I backed up all of my apps with TiBU, but now I can't find them; the restore file(s?) so I can get all of my apps and their data back. Was it saved to the internal SD card? Because I formatted that after backing up...
EDIT: Never mind. I looked around my SD card and... ugh. All my apps are gone and so are my backup files for the apps. Great. Thanks anyway, you two.

If you did a factory reset from within the phone, it will erase everything...
After you odin or heimdall a stock package, and flash a new ROM, don't restore tibu or apps. Download new.
Occasionally they get corrupted and cause you phone to soft boot

One more thing to add on to the TiBu thing, when you restored your apps what option did you use? If your restoring the batch options only select "missing apps with data.". Any other option and you run the risk of getting constant FC's.

I have found this to be the best for me also, new ROM...fresh install of all apps...so easy when you have the apk's, I just put them in a folder, then to my sd and install away and if I need to update I look that app via the market and update that way, or via the desktop pc thru the market online.
I found this site very useful has all my apps I need/require:

Yeah, it seems that's the best way to go. Even though I backed it up with CWM, I didn't expect it to not backup the kernel and modem. I realized the kernel part a lot sooner, but after having a lot of texts that didn't go through the way they normally would, I thought it was an issue with my phone and then I decided I'd check the modem and found out I didn't have the KL2 modem I'd normally have.

Well I already had everything figured out by the time everyone said something, but I appreciate the effort and tips nonetheless.

[Q] Droid is in trouble, have tried everything I know of.

Alright folks, my phone appears to have gone off the deep end.
A few weeks back, I was changing over to the new Eclipse ROM, and at first everything was going fine and dandy. However, I soon began experiencing a few force closes. I restarted the phone, and then everything went to hell. So many force closes I couldn't operate the phone, inability to make calls, unable to open apps, unable to install apps, basically all I can do is text, receive calls, and browse the web (although after enough time the phone crashes anyway). I have tried everything I know of to fix it: new ROMs via recovery, new ROMs via Odin, deleting caches, deleting personal data, using the .pit file and factory stock in Odin, the works. I even found the Samsung PST and used that, but for naught. The weird thing is that even after using the .pit file (which is supposed to delete EVERYTHING), my phone "remembers" old applications that were installed on it. In fact, it seems like there is some sort of ghost image on my phone, and whenever I restart it the phone returns to that state (any applications I tried to uninstall are back, all contact data is deleted, etc.). This ghost image hangs around no matter what I do.
Any suggestions?
Sounds to me that you obviously are not getting a true "PASS" with pit file. If you had you would have no files saved on phone. But if you followed the instructions to a "t" like you allude to...
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
I have followed the instructions fully (and multiple times to boot), and I have always gotten a PASS.
This is sounding regrettably similar to the issues reported in this thread - try looking at post numbers in the mid 300s - I think they are centered around late September/early October (there are more than this, but I'm pretty sure that timeframe has the highest density of discussion on this). If it's what it sounds like, the /data partition is no longer in a state that can be written over (the "ghost image" you were referring to) - and truth be told I don't know if anyone has come up with a "free" solution to the problem.

If it's what it sounds like, the /data partition is no longer in a state that can be written over (the "ghost image" you were referring to) - and truth be told I don't know if anyone has come up with a "free" solution to the problem.

I had read through those posts before, and was not very happy to see the conclusion. As those posts were from a few months ago, I was hoping that perhaps someone had some new ideas. Oh well, I guess I'll be trying my luck with Verizon. Thanks for trying, folks!

Thinking... What recovery does your phone have on it now- stock or clockwork? Are you on rfs file system- did you revert back or can you flash a diff kernel using cwr?
These are just some thoughts that came to mind. If dwith can't help you I can't do much more. Good luck with Verizon offering any help

Corrupted NAND, but still returns a pass.
I had this once, I spammed with the PIT and it somehow worked

I currently have Clockwork. I am unable to tell at this moment what my file system is, as I can't install Voodoo, and the method of adding/deleting folders on my SD card doesn't work. However, I do recall during one of my many attempts at using different kernels/radios/roms I did get the creepy female Voodoo bootup voice, but even though that said it was a success I was never able to tell whether it actually worked.
As of right now I am capable of ODIN and Clockworking any Rom/kernel/etc., but they all bring along the Ghost Image.

NAND is just a type of flash memory. If you recognize the word nand then you should have an idea. If not, it's not really important.

Any suggestions?

just covering bases by asking, did you go ALL the way back to ed1 with that pit file or a more recent version (gb or something along those lines)
From what I understand, the phone is still working, but is very unstable. The PBJ kernel does NOT support Voodoo Lagfix (but still supports EXT4). Can you try flashing imoseyon's kernel (which supports it) and enabling/disabling Voodoo? It can be found at RootzWiki. Also, when you get into CWM, it says the version at the top.

Here you go....i have been here.
Get into clockwork(CWM) - mount everything via usb and backup what you need to backup.
Perform a quick format of your sdcard so that when you see your phone on the pc, its blank.
Go back to stock odin and boot up, report any issues.

I tried what you said because I'm in the same boat. I still get the FCs and it tries to walk me through the setup. It gets stuck at the Checking Account step in the setup wizard. I let it sit there for about an hour while I went to lunch to no avail.

[Q] Wiping Data wont wipe data.

So I am going to type out my story so that nothing is missed. I really wanna fix my phone.
*I started out a regular user. Saw TWEAKED 3.0BETA and give it a try. When the final release came out I put it on no problem.
*YESTERDAY My phone tried to update facebook, got an error like "wrong file size" or something stupid, it crashed and I could care less.
*THIS MORNING I wake up and I had a text message from my GF with a picture attached, I couldn't see the picture like normal and downloading it downloaded a blank file!
*SO, I decided to BOOT into CWM and erase everything. Wipe Data. Wipe Cache. Wipe Delvik. Then proceeded to put in Tweaked 3.1 which came out not to long ago.
*After doing so, the phone would boot into where it normally would, but then the "first start wizard" would crash and force close, along with every other process on the phone looping their crashes over and over etc.
*SO, this time I tried using ODIN to flash back to 4D. Set it up just like IMNUTS post said to, including the PIT file, did it, and booted up. SAME THING. Every process would crash including the new user wizard.
After letting it crash loop for while it finally got silent enough for me to skip the wizard and see whats on the phone. ALL MY OLD APPS ARE STILL THERE. Pandora, and all my other apps, still installed, and apparently, CRASHING upon its boot use or whatever.
What do I need to do. Ive tried to ODIN flash every stock version of the charge rom and my apps are still there. Still kicking.
Worst part is months ago my mother (who I share the family plan with) had to cancel the warranty because we are all low on cash, and even worse I lost my job 2 weeks ago so I can't get a new phone.
HELP!!!! Thanks in advance!

have you tried mounting /data & /system before you did a full format?
also you should try to re-partition when you ODIN back... that FORCES
a partition format and then re-installs the OS

mounting /data & /system would change it to say "unmount?"
but as far as odin goes, I checked the box that said re-partition. I followed IMNUTS post down to the letter, all my apps are still there.

yes, make sure it says "unmount" after you choose those options...
CWM for the charge sometimes has troubles and need a little help
get going. did you have a *.pit when you selected re-partition? it
wont do anything unless you have a *.pit file...
I know it's not good to hotlink so I will give you the page link as well
as the link itself (as there are TONS of choices)

yes. I know on the EVO you needed to format a couple of times to make sure that CWM actually formatted correctly.
So you might wanna try that. also did you try going to
Privacy -> Factory data restore option?
mind you I think you do need the stock recovery option to do that but I know that works well.
Just ODIN a stock recovery.. it shouldn't touch any custom items you might have.

I can't get into the phone, it wont get past the setup wizard. all the applications force close over and over and over again. i did however use the factory recovery mode to wipe and that did nothing either....
I just set it to "unmount" on both the data and system and now im wiping. I remember when I first started with this after wiping once with CWM the next few times wouldn't take long at all because there was nothing to wipe....
so i did as you said with the data and system, wiped it, and nothing, damn crap still there.
it literally wont erase it

you MUST install an OS after you use this or you will boot loop into recovery.
this purges everything in the phone. (Non-recursively deletes)
I haven't tried this on mine as I am beta testing... but what can it hurt for yours?

Flash that in CWM (I assume it's a CWM zip? Didn't bother to check) and flash Tweaked 3.1 full CWM afterwards. Have both on the card ready to go.

haven't tried yet. i was given samsung pst so im trying that atm. afterwards as a last resort ill use what you mentioned.
okay, so i did it. put on cwm, both tweaked 3.1 rom and that wipe all file on the sd card. booted it up. ran the wipe file. then ran tweaked. booted up, and it stuck at the samsung logo. then i figured it was wiped, so i went and hooked it up for odin and put EP4D on it again so i can get fresh, and as soon as i got in all my apps were there, and everything was crashing one process after another.
i think the phone is borked and non recoverable.
Did you happen to mount the /system and /data first as previously mentioned?
That should have forcefully removed everything. Also on a normal basis (if not using a PIT) it won't erase /data ... it never has for me anyways.
How much time does it give you when you get the FC's until it happens again (the FC) can you try
To manually uninstall? ( Applications -> Manage Applications and then deleting then one by one? Or take titanium backup and run a batch to delete the applications in one go....
I'm sorry, I'm just trying to figure this out and help you the best way possible.

Also have you tried a non rooted ODIN? With a PIT?

[Q] Flashing no longer possible: Flash successful but system does not change

Hello!
I can no longer flash anything to my GT-P5110, even factory reset has no effect. The internal storage seems to be read-only.
I think this is a longer story: About one year ago the stock firmware became incredibly slow, to the point that processes started to force close, then my user data was lost, and after factory reset the tablet went into endless boot loop.
So I decided to give CM10 a try and it worked flawlessly. The tablet was fast again. I even could upgrade to CM11 later. But around 2 month ago, only sometimes processes started to force-close or the tablet randomly rebooted itself - mostly during charging. I left it that way in the charger for some days because I had no time to bother with that issue. Then, I tried to factory reset my device only to find out that this has absolutely no effect. Installing app updates: No effect. Changing system settings: No effect. And apps start to force-close at an insane rate short after boot. The device is unusable. My could only shut down and reboot into recovery. I left the tablet lying around, turned off, out of charger, for 2 months. Now I tried to investigate:
When I "adb shell" into recovery and call dmesg, I see lots of these lines:
Code:
mmcblk0: timed out sending SET_BLOCK_COUNT command, card status 0x400d00
I think something is really broken with the internal storage. I tried to flash a newer recovery but it has no effect, even when done from download mode.
Factory reset sometimes fails with an error. Reinstalling CM fails with an error. Wiping cache seemingly succeeds but I'm sure it has no effect. I tried installing SlimRom instead which seemingly succeeds, too - but after reboot I'm greeted with the CM boot logo again.
I tried to flash stock firmware with Odin. It is very very slow, runs for about 15 minutes, then fails at around 50%. Of course: That "half flashed firmware" does in no way affect the device: It still boots CM11 "without problems", then a few seconds after finishing boot (showing home screen), force-closes start to pop-up.
What should I do? I suppose the device is out of warranty for a few weeks or months, now. And even when not: It has been flashed with CM, the triangle counter is not zero. I suppose that combination of problems (read-only/failing storage, non-stock firmware) voids warranty in a way that Samsung will deny any repair. If at least I could return the device to stock firmware things would be different maybe.
Any ideas what I could try? Is it possible that the internal storage is simply fried? fsck'ing the partitions shows no errors, just the data partition is unclean with unwritten journal data but all data is readable. So the internal storage has probably not died. It just sticks to read-only mode for whatever reason.
I've found some posts with similar problems but those seem to be about older Galaxy Tab 1 devices built 2011 or before.
Just reading over this and it sounds very similar to what I'm currently facing, which is doubly annoying as no one else has chipped in a solution
I had reboot issues with my Tab2 10.1 (GT-P5110) on stock so after realizing I'd need to factory reset bite the bullet and rooted so I could use CM10.
Had occasional reboots but nothing I couldn't live with however from yesterday evening the tablet is seemingly stuck in a boot loop. It comes on, some apps fire up and an update starts. Sometimes apps force close then BOOM I get the boot splash screen.
I've tried factory reset in recovery (CWM 6.0.2.7) to no avail and wiping just about everything which also had no noticeable effect as all my settings and the rom are still the same when I get back in (albeit briefly!).
I've tried flashing new recovery via ODIN which reported a success however that also didn't appear to take. I'm beginning to think it some serious file system or storage corruption ;(
Same problem here...
Hopefully someone can come up with a solution or at least a cause. I've tried to Odin every recovery available for my 5113 and nothing has taken. I'm currently on Omni with cwm and tried to update to the latest cwm and twrp and aroma installer yet nothing takes. I too rooted because of the incessant bootloops about 3 months ago.

exactly, can't even uninstall an app. It's as if it boots from a permanent back up because even deleting pictures or files isn't permanently successful. You can uninstall and delete to your hearts content, get false hope, and get crushed after it reboots and everything is unchanged
Not looking very optimistic for this I was getting a similar inkling that it's gone into a permanent RO mode as not even the wipes from recovery have an effect. I'd also tried un-installing apps as I noticed one updating and thought it was crashing it however even when it did fire up and I disabled WLAN to stop Play Store auto-updating and removed the app on the next reboot cycle the app was back:crying::crying:
I fear I may have a big white paperweight....
Sounds like the internal partitions might need to be completely reformatted. This CAN be done through recovery, but is tricky... However without actually having your device in my hand I'm not sure 100 what the best course of action would be. Try searching for the commands to format (or maybe someone else will post them) or maybe PM me for them but no promises. I won't post them publicly on XDA because honestly there are too many users who do stuff like one-click root and don't actually know what they're doing and I don't want to be in some way responsible for someone following the command wrong and bricking their device for good. I don't need that on my conscience. Personal choice.

Would this method be any different to the way it attempts to reformat the internal partitions when you select to format the various mounts from CWM? If so I'm more then willing to give it a go as I really have nothing to lose as the damn thing is useless atm!
