This newer version is called the Pipo U1 and as I understand it- it's only availble on merimobiles.com (for purchase). This is a badass tablet using the rk3066 cpu and quadcore mali400/gpu AND higher dpi/resolution. Definately no roms/firmware for it yet- unless the chinese websites have stuff available that we don't know.
How much is it? O.O
It's not available only on Merimobiles; on their page it says "Pre-order". It's also available on other sites (mcbub.com for example).
I've ordered it from Merimobiles last Tuesday, because they assured me that it is in stock; however this does not explain why their page says otherwise.

Guys pls add data further to the list.
i would love to see the ainol fire/flame/burning in the list above as well. would be great to get some benches.
How good is it?
Oh, neat. I really hadn't paid attention to the Chinese devices as of late, but it looks like they're becoming more competitive. I wonder what the build quality is like.
$
I would stay away from Chinese tabs my first tab was from china site the build quality was bad. The aninol tab looks decent other than that would would stay name brand

Has anyone seen this? At 200bucks it looks awesome! Though, I'm a little skeptical about buying this... the only reason I'd buy it is to hack the snot out of it... Has anyone purchased a chinese knockoff and been able to update the OS on it?
Site is bigboxstore dot c0m - go to the computers/android tablets - it's the first one on the page (sorry can't post links yet)
This thing with ICS would rock especially at the price...
Only bummer is that it ONLY has 512mb or RAM... maybe wait till they start releasing them with 1024? Only a matter of time imo...
Anyways - if anyone has tinkered with one of these dual cores let me know!
It says Android 2.2 - so I'm sure that's not HC...
Any info from the pros on this would be awesome! I'm all about being thrifty when it comes to tablets - prime is definitely on the "gonna buy list" though - just need something to complement it around the house
Moved to Q&A
Hi,
According to many websites the Xolo X900 is excepted to be released really soon on Indian market (rumored for as early as tomorrow).
This along with the Lenovo K800 are the first Android devices w/ Intel chipsets.
Official Specs:
Processor: 1.6 GHz Intel Atom
OS: Android 2.3 Gingerbread (Upgradable to ICS)
RAM: 1 GB
Screen: 4.03'' (LCD 1024 x 600)
Camera: 8 MP with Flash
Front Camera: 1.3 MP
Internal Storage: 16 GB
Dimensions: 123 x 63 x 10.99 mm
HDMI TV out: Yes
NFC: Yes
Engadget review: http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/27/intels-xolo-x900-by-lava-hands-on/
I'm trying to understand where this device stands comparing to other new devices announced at MWC 12.
Only single core but it's Intel and I don't think we have comparison data between this and the different ARM processors.
Screen smaller than the current trend of minimum 4.3''.
Intel promise good battery life and everything else seems quite good so I assume mid-range class but I have no idea if it has the quality of other devices in this category like the HTC One S or Xperia P.
Would love to hear opinions about this device.
As an added question,
Would you suffice with such device or go with HTC One X? (assuming budget is not an issue).
Sounds like it has a lot of promise!
I heard the price was about Rs.22000(apx.$440). For a single core processor i think its too much when we can get a dual core for about the same price.
may be,
But guys, lava promised that this will have an ICS update soon, and all mobiles out which have dual core, do you think they are actually necessary. There are many battery dragging features in dual core. And Here, No more ARM you are getting a processor created buy Intel with 1.6MHZ Where you get 2Mhz processor provided by lg recently.( commoon intel is Legend in PC core processors), they promised that you will have the best charging life than any other mobile out in market. May be cost is bit high, but I think 18k is enough for this mobile. Which is already available.
Europe version
It will have an europe version with Orange, called Orange Santa Clara
Today i have received a package from one of our custumers and Xolo X900 was inside ;-) .... till monday i have to compare this phone with the iPhone 4s and Samsung Galaxy SIII ... i will post then some pics and facts...
It really looks nice, but with the 4 touch buttons and the hole in the display it not really seens to be up to date...
More in a few days...
Orange San Diego is Intel. Its £200... Not sure in India a I'm not Indian...
Sent from my Asus Transformer TF201 Prime using XDA Premium HD app
Orange San Diego and Intel XOLO X900 both are same except for the firmware. Orange San Diego have generic GB with Orange branding. XOLO doesn't have any branding. There is another sibling to this device in Russia. I don't remember what they call it.

If this is the price on offer, then surely this handset would not have an impact in the Indian market..
Seems overpriced
The content of the original thread is cleared.
I used to be quite a fan of Ainol, but it seems that their main focus at the moment is to bring lots of "earth trash" products to the market. And they don't respect honest reviews, all they want is for testers to advertise their products. And I don't write that kind of articles.
Here is my announcement: There will be no more reviews of Ainol products from me, and I wish them all the happiness in the world with the crappy so-called quad core ATM7029 SoC! devil):devil):devil):devil):
Thanks for the review. I was looking to buy a Chinese (with English Language) quad core tablet for my younger sister, maybe 10". Can you recommend any?

Any custom ROM now?
I bought an Ainol Novo 7 Venus (Myth) and was a bit disappointed at first because the initial ROM (20130110) made the device a bit laggy. I updated it to the newest ROM / Firmware available (20130203) and was then quite surprised. The device became much snappier and has practically no more lags. Another goodie was, that all the preinstalled chinese Apps where gone after the update (You could also remove em by hand with the Root Explorer App. They are located in System/Vendor/App).
So for anyone buying this device, have a look at the firmware version (Settings>About this tablet>Build-Number). If it is older that 2013.02.03 V1, you should try to update it. This is not the easiest task to do, but its really worth it.
You'll find all infos or links to informations/ROMS/Tools here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140304
rgds, d
Yup - just to concur with degon, the 0203 firmware makes the Venus substantially better. if you wind up with one, definitely install it.
Re: In Depth Review of Ainol NOVO7 Venus Quad Core Tablet
Just bought the item.
I agree with all said but i would add that wifi is really what disappointed me most because i found no fix for that. It is fortunate that i can use my phone as a hotspot.
I could cure the lag problems by adjusting the cpu lowest frequency with an app. I guess at the cost of battery life.
The tablet wasn't for me so i have no regret. It will fit the needs of the real owner though.
So far it is a good tablet but the best. And i just hope a firmware update will improve the wifi.

i already use it.. it good tablet although the price is very cheap.. as usual, it have a weakness and strength, the weakness first, it not a very powerful cpu inside it, and also the GPU is not make for the hard graphic game.. if u play a game for so long time it will hang a little bit. but just that. the best part is the battery. it can last myb 8 hour playing game+browsing.but the time it take to charge is take myb 4 hour because of the capasity of the battery.. playing video or movie is best ever. it very clear and smooth. game that suitable for this tablet is air attack HD, castle master, Hawx HD, GTA 3, kingdom at war, Myth defense, NOVA, NFS most wanted, Riptide GP, Sailboat, Samurai 2 vengence, snow board, Subway surf, Simphony of origin, Team Dragon, Temple run 2, the last defender, undead slayer, and zenonias 5. for browsing, it good because the response is fast, no problem in scrolling the page, super fast.
This was released in the Philippines recently as the Cherry Bolt. Similar comments.Cost less than 100 US. The ROM of this unit was also a little buggy and people were told they could install the Ainol NOVO 7 venus rom.
WIFI seems to be turning itself automatically whenever i turn off the screen/put the tablet on standby.
Any way to disable this as I am having hardtime downloading apps due to this.

Several sites report the Ainol Novo Venus Myth as having Mali400 graphics. I haven't seen conclusively if this true or false. Also what is a good dual-core rockchip3066/mali400 7" tablet? Would like front/back cameras & GPS, don't think any had those features.

I was looking at getting one of these but going by the review it would seem a dual core RK3066 Cortex A9 tablet would be better all round, correct?
For eg I was looking at the Nextway F7,which has the dual core RK3066 A9 processor.
Would I be better off with that than the Novo?
My use would be like most, web browsing, youtube and some gaming.
Surely the Novo cant be that bad? But like I said, the dual core processor according to the review here is indeed better than this particular quad core model then?

If u want a rk3066 tablet, maybe pipo will be a better choice of brand than nextway. Ainol has probably the best build quality of all chinese tablet brands, but the atm7029 in the venus is definitely the worst quad core soc.

The GPU of the Venus is actually GC1000+,which is an update from the GC800 GPU once used in Rockchip RK2918. The Venus has both front facing and rear cameras, but no GPS.

Well then I wont worry about the Novo Venus then I think.Ill stick with a Dual Core RK3066 tablet.
With regards to the Pipo and Nextway,I did check out the Pipo, both have similar specs for the around the same price but the Nextway has 16GB internal and the Pipo 8GB. I know either can accept a micro SD card but this is really no help for installing apps/games. Thats where the 16GB of the Nextway would be better.

Yes. There's a long thread about the spark/firewire unit at Slatedroid and very bad wifi reception issues.
Apparently the fix is to open up the back and do a minor tweak to the antenna, which offsets the issue caused by the aluminium chassis.

Yes, it's a very impressive device: Exynos 4412 powered, 2Gb RAM, IPS 1280x800, Bluetooth, GPS... all for $185, not bad. I dunno about its firmware... I hope a good firmware to match its hardware (anyone knows?).
I use ployer momo tablets. But now they have quadcore ones and im thinking of an update. Try looking for quadcore rockchip3066 tabs which are very fast and responsive.

i am looking for Android tablet too.My friends suggest me buy a Chinese Brand tablet(Yuandao N90FHDRK ).The 10000mAh Battery Capacity and the Quad Core attracted me.And the Configuration is quite good.(9.7 Inch Android 4.1 Jelly Bean IPS Capacitive Multi-touch Screen 16gb Internet Tablet Quad Core Cortex A9,10000mah Battery Capacity,2048x1536 Resolution,mali-400 Mp GPU Tablet Pc with Rk3066 1.6ghz CPU 2gb Ddr3 RAM Wifi Hdmi with OTG USB Cable)
PIPO M9 or CUBE U30GT2
I bought myself a chinese tablet which is going around under many different names. Freelander PD80 Vogue, Ployer Momo 11 quad, Chinavision Vice, and quite a few other names. Mine is called the Primal P9X.
They are all the same tablet.
Quad core Samsung Exynos 4412 1.4 ghz, 1028 x 720 (or whatever that standard one is), IPS screen, Mali 400 gpu. 2 gb ram, 1 gb internal, 16 gig SD. HDMI out, USB 2.0, extSD.
In short, this thing is a beast and is one of the best purchases ive made in awhile. This post marks the first time on the internet someone is linking all these tablets in one post. I know cause I went on a 24 hour wild goose chase after i accidentlally bootlooped this thing. Primal has no website and thus no firmware, but I was able to find firmware for the PD80 Vogue after i realized it was the same exact tablet. And it worked! also the Framaroot exploits (at least Sam) work on this thing.
I hope to see some development on this/these tablets soon, as they are the best thing coming outta china right now (besides the not-very-good resoltuion). If anyone needs a starting ROM to starting tweaking with, reply here and ill post the link. It was a life saver.

I am not surprised that this is just a re-labled tablet sold under many different brands considering I could not find any information about the manufacturer. I have had my P9x for two weeks now and very happy with the performance and responsiveness of it.
You mentioned finding another rom for it. Was it another ICS rom, or JB? I am interested in going to JB since my Galaxy Note II is already on it.
Anyhow, I found rooting this device to be pretty simple and straightforward. I think there are many options available. I will search for some of these other brands and see what is out there.
These is a thread discussing this on apad forum also so I will watch both of these threads for any updates.
Well it wasn't actually a rom for the primal p9x, it was for one of its clones, the Freelander PD80 Vogue. I bootlooped my p9x after installing something dumb. In an act of desperation I scoured the internet for all its clones and searched for their respective firmwares. The only I ended up findimg was the one I said. So I took the leap of faith and flashed it (put it on sd card, held pwr+vol- at startup) and it worked! Its ICS.
Its nit perfect thougj. The one that shipped with the primal was better. It seemed snappier and didn't have annoying chinese apps. Also the front facing camera seems to not be working. According to apad, a JB fw is coming soon. Eagerly awaiting that.
If you manage to make a dump/nandroid of your stock primal fw I wouldn't mind having a copy

This is exactly the right question
I have a Cube U9GT2 that I bought a while back. I based that purchasing decision on the community support it had. If you buy a device with kick ass hardware, but no devs behind it then it may end up close to useless. Rather than looking at paper specs check whether there is community support as it is much more critical when dealing with Chinese tablets (no website, no support, etc.). just my 2¢
Hi all, I am about to buy a new tablet but I am confused and I cannot make any difference between original or Fake Tablets
I have found many Tablets like:
- Havit Tablets
- MemUp SlidePads
- Archos Tablets
- Prestigio Tablets
- Bogo Tablets
- Arnova Tablets
- LexiBook Tablets
- NextBook Tablets
- Storex Tablets
- Maxell Tablets
- Sanei Tablets
- EnergiSystem Tablets
- And more...
Some of these tablets have 1Ghz Cortex A8 and A9, 1GB of RAM, a Good GPU like Mali 400 and Google PlayStore Pre-installed !
But some have only 1Ghz Cortex A8, 512MB of RAM, no GPU and no Google Play (Apps market are AndroidPit, or Opera Apps Market)
Most of them have Android 4.0 or 4.1 and 4GB of Storage with SD Card support up-to 16GB to 32GB.
I would like to know if these Brands are recognized internationally or they're just fake (Tablets maybe fake or chinese).
Achos is a good brand especially with their achos gamepad tablet

Only one I recognize is Archos, which also makes the Arnova Tablets. The rest seem like cheap walmart brand tablets lol. Whatever the case I think it's best to go with brands like Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Samsung, Sony, and Toshiba. It really depends on your budget. However, the safest bet is to look up the tablets on youtube and see what they're all about. That way you will know what your getting.

Hi ajay1919,
You totally wrong here about the RAM !
Exemple: The Galaxy S I9000 have:
1Ghz of Processor
512MB of RAM
and as GPU weaker than the Mali-400MP
But everything turns like a charm on this Phone !
So with 1,2Ghz of Processor
512MB of RAM
and a Mali-400MP GPU, I think the tablet might have no problems playing games like Asphalt 7 !

Yup 1 gb of ram is the absolute sweet spot. I running the galaxy player which is pretty much a galaxy s i9000 without the phone and ram is always an issue with it. I had to get like 3 memory managing apps to keep it running smooth.
I would not even look at anything with less than 1GB of RAM, my phone has 2GB and even that comes close to being fully used sometimes.
With the cheaper unknown tablets just be careful with the CPU/GPU combo that they use, especially if you want to play games.
Also, in the future, if you want to root and flash custom roms it can be very hard or next to impossible to find roms for knock-off or no-name tablets.
Good luck.
