AOKP JB - Captivate General

sorry of this is in the wrong spot but anyone knwo if the AOKP will move or remove the datadata partition ?

From what i read jb doesn't have a datadata partition. Even if it doesn't you can get one of the devil kernels that has it included. That's what i had to do to get jb to work smoothly.

[Q] Dual Boot OTA ICS and SCV7?

I am on rooted OTA ICS with bootmenu installed. ICS is on 1st system and I already did a full backup. How do I flash SCv7 and keep original ICS rom intact? I am guessing to install on 2nd system?
Figured it out! Works really well and super easy to switch between roms. SCv7 is lightweight and fast.

[Q] can't flash T-Mobile ROM.

So I read in the one of the Development threads that you can flash a T-Mobile rom on the skyrocket. But each time I do I get a status 7 error. Tried from the Internal SD and External SD. Could someone help?

Only flash a rom for the sr. You're asking for a brick flashing anything that is not for the sr.

Normally I would be right along with you on this, but it is different when it comes to the T-Mobile gs2 T989 Hercules. We are able to flash ROMs for that device. I haven't personally done it, but from what I read you flash : ROM--->Gapps if need be---> Skyrocket kernel. The status 7 error I believe is the updator script recognizing that you are flashing a ROM designed for the gs2 Hercules on a different device. This is a safeguard in an attempt to try and prevent bricks. You will have to edit the updator script I believe
Edit: flash T-Mobile radio as well

How to port a tmo t989 ROM to the skyrocket?

I'm just curious on how its done?

You don't have to port it. All you have to do is add your SR's rotation fix to the ROM.

No port is needed. You simply flash: Rom-->Gapps--->Skyrocket kernel. Never used a t989 ROM myself, but that is what I read for install. You may encounter status 7 error flash aborted in recovery when trying to install. If this occurs then the script in the Rom package that checks your devices signature needs to be updated / removed. It recognizes that your device isn't a t989 and aborts the flash as a precaution as you are normally supposed to only flash ROMs for your specific device.
Edit1: Flash T-Mobile radio.

What version of the note 2 do you have and which version of PAC did you download?

Model number : GT-N7100
Android version : 4.1.2
I am using the alliance rom just because its stable and i made the biggest noob mistake of all, flashed and didnt do an original back up so i have no choice but to use custom roms,
Is that what you were asking for ? I wasnt joking when i said im a noob, ill have to see the pac rom when i get home because its seemed to have broken my micro sd card because my phone isnt allowing me to mount my san disk 54gb micro sd

ok so several things:
1)It sounds like the PAC rom wasnt built for your phone (maybe diff systemUI) or if ported, not done correctly. Either that or you didnt flash it properly.
2)If you want to return to the original ROM, im pretty sure there are steps to do so
3)Did you try an official version of PAC or something else?
4)Did you format system and cache before flashing the ROM?
N7100_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v20.0.0
I i wipe system amd cache partition data but on twrp i use system wipe which says it does system and cache partitin ?

stopped here too
Hello,
I also compiled this an actual version myself, but also here system UI crashes.

Default storage locations changed?

So I flashed the stock 4.1.2 Jelly bean update and everything is good except that I've noticed that the storage locations for a lot of things have changed. Any way for me to make it like it used to be? This is changing all my apps settings and stuff. Thanks

You must have been on 4.2.2 previously. 4.2 and 4.1 use different file structure.

You can always use symbolic links in init.d to get whatever directory structure you want
