Trying to go back to GB - need help - Captivate General

I am selling my phone and need to go back to GB,, im on a ICS rom currently
Ive gotten this far to find:
I897UCKK1 Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread
With Bootloaders - Link 1 / Link 2
Without Bootloaders - Link 1 / Link 2
Stock Kernel - Link 1
Kernel with CWM - Not released yet!
Do i get one with boot loaders or not boot loaders? Which out of the 3 do i download?

Go here... Stock i897ucKK4 Gingerbread 2.3.5
That is the latest official gb release. If u already have the gb bootloaders installed, then use the odin or heimdall without.

Couldn't you get more money with a custom, quick GB, ICS or even JB ROM installed?

[Q] I have fallen behind in the last couple months. CWM is on GB now?

Time to flash off this very old version of gingerbread. CWM is on GB now right? What is the most updated link for it? Krylons?
Oh, and same procedure as froyo or do I need anything else to get it going?
Flash the leaked kG4 odin rom..then flash the kernel for cwm then u can flash any GB rom you want

What im more curious about is which CWM to use. Will Krylon's work or do I need an updated one?
You will have to Odin drhonks cwm kennel after you flash kg4 and it will give you cwm for gb. Don't worry about the other versions

T959VUKJ6 Official update

Starting November 15...
http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1810
Is this the same KJ6 as leak used in Development section? So WiFi stays not on par as on KD1?
I hope not. At least they are releasing something official. Maybe in 89 days we can get source.

Kies mini show the availabile upgrade:
"T959VUVKJ6/T959VUVKJ6 11/11/15"
My upgrade went smoothly, and all the apps are still there but root is gone.

I guess before running official update with kies you have to disable/uninstall lagfix at minimum... This will convert file system back to rfs.
I went ahead and let mini kies do its thing.... yes, I odined the kj1 kernel right on top for the voodoo and it works.
sorry for the dumb question, but after upgrading to gb will super one click work to root, and can we just use odin to flash one of the existing custom gb roms without needing to root. im assuming this had the correct gb bootloaders we need. thanks for the help.

Official kies will take care about bootloader... regarding super one click - newest version has claims to be able to root Samsung gb.
or you can apply pre-rooted kernel as champ1919 did.

there wont be a 2.3.7 update. Only 1 device received 2.3.7 officially and that was the NS4G and that was to fix a WiMax issue.

It does for me, but I really did not test it extensively.

After following suggestion in GPS thread it works pretty good. I did not tested that much yet, but so far I can tell that it locks on 7+ satellites quicker than is KD1.

[Q] Need to Unroot 2.3.5 GSII Skyrocket

I'm here with a rooted Skyrocket (AT&T) on G-Bread 2.3.5 and need to unroot.
I originally rooted while I was on 2.3.4, but about a month and half ago the firmware automatically updated to 2.3.5.
I used DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su method.
My end-game is to get back to complete stock Skyrocket.
Grazie
1) why would u want to...?
2) flash stock rom via odin.
3) learn to use the search button.
4) have a good day.

Yes
Yes
I would suggest reading about the leak before you flash it. Flashing stock will trip your flash counter, flashing ICS will not.

Your going to want to do some research, if you upgrade via fxz I believe you have no safe way to get back to GB....
However...
If you upgrade to leak 1 via jimbridgmans method there is a safe way to get back....
After deciding which method to use, install atrix bootstrap and pick your ROM... I say bootstrap cause its the most supported...
Good luck and enjoy....

If your phone is not from AT&T, and you install the upgrade that Pzyduck upload, you won't be able to downgrade to GB.

so is there any way possible where i can go back to gb.

Make sure you use an Odin or Heimdall package that includes repartioning (pit file). Top part of the infuse super everything thread has links to both (back to stock / unbrick). Follow link in my sig.
