Google adds handwriting to mobile search site - LG Optimus 3D

I just tried it out. All you have to do on your phone is open the web and then go to the google web page, sign in to your google account, and then under settings just enable handwriting...... My handwriting is crap and it still worked great....

[Q] Google Now - Open in New Tab?

I love google now, but when I use it for an ordinary google search, I cannot open the links in tabs but have to view the link on the same page, diverting me from the google search results. I've also tried opening the results in my default browser but I can't figure out how to do that either.
Is there a way to get google now to allow tabs, or to share the search query with the default browser?
I stopped using Google now for regular google searches, unless of course I'm using voice (which I rarely do).
I find it annoying that the search results in Google now pop up so slowly, and the fact that when you press on a search result, it has to open it up in the default browser. If Google now was more integrated with the default browser I would use it more often.
Now, I normally just open the browser and type my google search in the address bar.

I quit using it for normal searches too, but I have the search widget on my homescreen and I prefer using that to launching the browser.
This frustrates me too.

Curious if anyone has found any kind of workaroinds method to get the "open in new tab" behavior?
I would have thought that by now Google would have corrected this. Silly me. .... They can't even provide "append voice note" in google Keep. I think their entire UX group for voice functions should be pink-slipped.

[Q] This webpage is not available - with a twist...

Samsung S4, Verizon, Android 4.2.2, JDq39.GoogleEdition.I545VRUAMDK
On Wifi, everything works as expected. The problem is when I'm connected to a mobile network.
Problem: I'm only able to access *google.com* sites!
When I try anything else (www.xda-developers.com, www.reddit.com, www.theoatmeal.com, etc) I get a "This webpage is not available" message from Chrome or "Web Page Not Available" from Dolphin.
I cannot access Google Voice. I cannot access Google Play.
What is working:
- Google search results show up, but when I click on the web pages, they don't load
- Google Apps (gmail, calendar, etc work fine)
- Google's cached pages
- I can make and receive phone calls
I've tried rebooting, and installing a new browser (Dolphin) in case of a settings issue.
Any solutions? Thanks!

Tried that. The problem isn't loading search results (*google.com works fine). The problem is loading webpages from the search results and even when typed manually in the address bar.
In addition to *google.com, *android.com and *youtube.com pages also load properly. Youtube app works. Google Maps works. Gmail app works. Google Play and Google+ apps do not. Uber, Twitter and my bank apps do not.
When I load those that don't work, messages say there's a data connection issue. But, that's not the case, as some of the Google apps seem to function.
I have restarted the phone.
Do you have the correct APNs installed in your phone?

[Q]Webview in Google Now

Is there any way to use Webview in Google Now Search, for opening links in results. It'll be better than switching to Chrome or any other browsers everytime to open a link.
Google App's version 5.10 has option to open links in app, check in settings..

Can't get google to stop saving searches on firefox for android

Hi, Having a small issue with the google webpage when viewing on firefox on my Huawei P30 Pro.
I previously had a Samsung S8+ an had the same setup on that, android 9.0, latest version of firefox and the same bookmarks that are synced to my account, I didn't have this issue on the S8+ though.
Basically when i'm on google and signed in on my P30 Pro google keeps constantly saving my searches and showing previous searches every time i tap on the search box, this is even though in my account it clearly shows as paused and not saving searches..
I have tried clearing the cookies stored for google and even though when i clear them it then logs me out of my google account, when i log back in it still carries on saving the searches.
I still have my S8+ and if i turn that on and go to google the searches are still off and don't show.
I really can't work out why it just won't work as it should on my new phone?
has anyone got any way they think i can do it? i don't really want to remove the google bookmark as i have my bookmarks in the order i want them and theres no option in firefox to re-sort your bookmarks like in most other browsers.
Thanks
James
I have the same problem on my Moto G6 Play. Turned off (and cleared) search history in Google, yet Google in Firefox still shows all new searches.
anyone else please?

Just joined Google Fi. Is there any way to add "messages" to the google apps button?

Title says it all. I just left Google Voice for Google Fi and ported my GV number over.
Minor thing, but I miss having the function in gmail when I click on the google apps, then google voice, then it launches to web interface. I can't seem to find a similar setup for the messages for web app. Does this exist?
I realize I'm just lazy, but would be nice to have!
