Sorry, I dont own an S3, I might soon though.
My friend said on CM10, the only way to get to Google now is through the search bar on the home screen, whereas on my Nexus, I have that option or I can press the home button and slide it up.
So for the Galaxy s3, someone should make it like S-Voice where you just double press the home button for Google Now to come up.
You can also add a Google Now shortcut on your home screen. That's what I did.

I understand that you can do that. But in my opinion, its too many steps to go through when you are already in an app to have to go to the home screen to do a search. There should be a hotkey.

at your home screen you can long press menu.
to set it as double press home, use the app from play store called "home2 shortcut"

press the multi task button, does it bring up settings?
If not you have to edit the hardware keys
Nope it brings up multitask, will I lose my multitasking by editing hardware buttons? Jb on my nexus has the arrow down "my apps" button. Why is it different?

In the Display section of settings.
I rooted my Samsung note 3
and am wondering if there is a way to create a shortcut on my home page to quickly launch the two apps.
Sent from my Note 3 on AT&T
Nope. Just set it so you have to hold the back button and then multi window opens for you to open the two apps.

Ok, yeah I was hoping to be able to do it with a shortcut. Wasn't able to find anything online. Any devs out there?

I found a neat, but insanely infrequent easter egg :sly:
When you go to settings> about phone and tap the 4.4.2 box it takes you to a "K" screen. (Not the easter egg)
Tap or long press the "k" and it takes you to the "kit kat" screen (still not the easter egg).
Long press that and it takes you to a screen that is reminiscent of windows phone.(almost there!)
When you press the tiles they fly in and out and change. The images on the tiles represent the OS designations from Donut to Kit Kat. If you play with it long enough though you will find, (here it comes!!!) A Key Lime Pie tile. It is VERY quick, just long enough to notice it, I've tried to get a screenie of it but samsungs slide to capture is just wayyyy too slow. Just thought that might be interesting to some, seeing as everyone was hyped up on this OS being designated Key Lime Pie. Well played, Google. Well played.

I found 4 fast taps on each screen works & long press on KITKAT logo to get final screen.

Sorry Mje, got thumb happy on the thanks button. Also, awesome. I couldn't get one to stick around long enough for the capture.

Because I had no idea about the hardware capture option. Lol, Samsung Haas spoiled me with its fancy motions and what have you.

Yup it did. Now holding recents brings up multi window. Long pressing back brings up the menu. Although it doesn't work here on xda app. Holding back takes you back a few pages and then brings up the menu.

A little late now, but Xposed Additions allows you to remap the button for a long press menu. Took me days to find that.
