Like the known Easter egg on ice cream sandwich and jelly bean, there is one for cyanogenmod!
Under system settings >about phone, tap rapidly on cyanogenmod version and you will see a new screen. Then hold on the screen and you can swipe away the little cyanogenmod guys.
you can do the same thing on the android version on ICS or JB.
Have fun

yeah atleast since gingerbread there is a always an android version easter egg, i'm not sure about cupcake-froyo though. honey comb buzzes like a bee, or that's what i have heard. gingerbread has a gingerbread man and android in a zombie apocalypse.

On CM9 you have to rapidly tap the Android Version field.

Hey guys, if you have CM7, I found a great way to make our phones look almost just like ICS as we wait for CM9.
No mods are required here and is completely free!
1) Install CM7
2) Go to the Play Store and download Ice Cream Sandwich CM7 Theme
3) Download Go Launcher and install any kind of ICS theme you like.
4) Download Go Locker and get the ICS theme
(This will now affect the notification settings)
5) Then go into Settings>CyanogenMod Settings>Interface>Notification Power Widget>Hide indicator if you want or just change color of indicator
6) Finally, download Phase Beam Live Wallpaper from Play Store
(Just to show to friends XD)

If you are here to troll and insult the devs for not having ICS, please go back to the Nexus S forums. Our phone has insufficient driver sources thus it's kind of like trial and error for us.
It took me time to understand why people want ICS, functionality wise, but for the looks ??? What's so special about the ICS look? Light blue over black... nm.

I didn't mean it like that, to be honest. I hasn't researched too much into the SGS. I assumed it was released around the time of the Nexus S, which lease me to believe it should have similar hardware. My buddy goes on about how his SGS is better than my NS. My previous comment was directed towards him. Sorry.

Its OK, but we have had a lot of flaming here because of that. We will get ICS soon, bit we had to wait for a lot because of the issue about drivers. in fact, a few moths back, we even doubted that we'd get cm7.

May be Nvidia was waiting for this release in order to let go the drivers.
But i dough it, some how they always want to make more money over it.
My very sincere gratittudes to the Devs for making this Betas on ICS so far so good
even with few scripts it makes it a lot easier to handle the few bugs over the betas
I wish Google would focus on getting ICS on every Android before upgrading the OS again and alienating even more users.
My first Android phone never even got Gingerbread despite what LG said (surprise surprise).

For just astetics its really the same as ICS with an updated search bar and different wallpapers

And extremely fast frame rate now, and little tricks in the notification drawer also. Google voice search is revamped and a lot better. Cosmetically little difference over all though.

Yeah I read that only about 7% percent of phones are running ics.its really a mess google is creating,by the time a lot of phone get ics it will be like 2013-14 when a new update has come.they should really take a 2 to 3 year gap window.

With no official support from CyanogenMod and only 2-3 developers working on CM kernel & rom stuff, it is getting harder and harder for us to work on stuff and keep porting to new versions of android.
Instead of constantly asking for the newest and greatest, show us developers a little support for what we have.
There is that little donate button over there... it does help with motivation.
I agree.
I just recently donated to one of our developers and I encourage others to do so as well. It's the least we can do.

It'll be pretty quick like when 4.1.2 was integrated. It'll probably be within the next 2 days, judging from how fast updates have been added on the past.

Not even! Dude it won't take that long because most of 4.2 is little add-ons to 4.1, so most devs can just use the 4.1 base and add those updates within the next couple days or on the weekend.

Doesn't matter if it's just little addons, the framework is entirely different and will almost certainly require new trees. It's like Froyo to Gingerbread

I'm with dmeadows......they may appear to be little, but the framework is what matters. You act like its a matter of updating a few apps, lol.
I kinda wonder if cyanogenmod is actually planning on it being a little big (week or two). Why would they have released a (stable) the day before 4.2 knowing it was dropping? Maybe he knows it'll be some time still...
Whoa aosp ftw !
Doesn't matter, because till we get kernel/RIL source, AOSP can't be fully stable.

If you are on an AOSP rom that has Theme Chooser, perhaps there is a classic android theme out there that you can use. In addition, you can use a launcher that appears like the classic android launcher. This way it's relatively less work and the feeling is more or less the same,

I still play nintendo. Emulators don't quite do some games justice.
A more apt analogy would be "Do you still run Windows 95?"
The theme idea is probably best, you get a nostalgic look, but keep the stability and functionality of 4.1 or whatever you're running.
I wonder how many people could be nostalgic for something that is only 4 years old though?
