I of course have the gs3, I have a Samsung d490 plasma with the Allshare dongle and also Samsung blu ray player. My question is how do I get Allshare to recognize either tv or blu ray player, also what exactly can I do with Allshare. Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I'm not 100% sure how to set it up trying looking on Samsung's support site or the manual that came with the bluray player, tv or allshare dongle itself. As far as what it can do in can do everything from stream pictures and videos on your phone wirelessly to your tv to PowerPoint presentations on your tv. Hope this helps

I don't have a Samsung TV or DVD player, however, if they connect to WiFi like my Sony DVD player did and my Galaxy Tab, once you install the Allshare / Allshare Play software, it asks if you want to allow various devices on the network (provided they are on) to acess the shared media (Whether its from your phone or computer). Then I automatically had the option to send to any of those devices to play. With the tab, I believe as long as Allshare was open, it went right through to it and played to it (not so on my Sony DVD or PS3 obviously).

Okay I've heard dlna here and there. Whatbdo I have to do to access it? Bluetooth? Or what? In running miui right now and have no idea how to do it.

DLNA is a standard that ensures different devices can communicate with each other in order to stream media. Devices include servers, ie Windows computer, and players, such as a blue ray player, xbox, etc. Typically it is used over WiFi or Ethernet connections.
Examples of how it works include streaming music or movies from your device to your tv, or using your phone to control your computer to stream media to your phone, tv, or another computer.
Okay how do I watch my movies on my inspire on my television?

I currently have a samsung C6500 bluray player, this is a DLNA certified player attached to an old plasma, for streaming videos from my phone to bluray player I use iMedia Share app, phone shows up as a connected device in the bluray player menu and I can then select any audio/video/picture file to listen/view.
But do u have to have wifi on? Or can u use data

You need to use WiFi so the devices can communicate over your network.
So I'm about to get a new TV. And the Logitech box to convert the new TV to a Google TV. I have some movies I downloaded on my phone. there AVI format. I watch some on my phone. And it plays it probably because I downloaded a player app from the market that supports the file. Anyway. I wanna kno, can I stream those files to my TV to watch them. Somehow?

DLNA (AllShare)
Or if you're on a Froyo release or an AT&T Gingerbread leak, the MHL adapter included with the Infuse.
Skifta has been an awesome and free DLNA client in the time I've used it. Highly recommend it.
samsung needs to do a better job advertising the things unique to their phones. samsung phones play almost any codec you can think of and has a dlna. for a while when the captivate came out that was an actual advantage. now there are market apps that are better but try all share. if it doesnt work then download one from the market.
File Expert from the market has built in wifi streaming to your local network that you can use to streaming stuff to another wifi enabled device.

Need more info.......
Have you set the media share in settings > more settings > nearby devices > file sharing? What are you using to share, allshare, imediashare etc?
Have you tried rebooting the tab? Daft as it may sound, it may just work
i got a problem with streaming to my tv when my router had broken. try different router.
if it will not help try to stream to different tv or console.
if your tv is connected through wi-fi try to connect it with cable.
demo movie needs hudge bandwidth to stream.
or maybe your tv does not support the codec demo movie is in?
did you try different formats?
one more thing you can also try is to check if using any third party app, like imediashare or mediahouse, will play the movie to the tv, as they are independant of samsung's all share app. if they will it means there is a problem with the tab. if not, there is an issue somwwhere else (tv or router))
hope it helps and not make more confusion
.

From your descriptions, the feature you are using isn't DLNA but WiFi Direct.
WiFi Direct works differently than DLNA.
WiFi Direct works by sending the Media File to your TV & The TV then take control of it.
DLNA works by browsing Media Files on your SGN10.1 (your SGN10.1 becoming a Media Server) & you can choose which media to play on your TV.
Can you give us a little bit more details :
What TV you are using?
What Video Container (AVI,MKV,MP4,FLV,etc...) & Codec (MP4,H.264,E.264,XVid,etc...) you are using?
Both WiFi Direct & DLNA only work AFTER you register the DEVICE (SGN10.1) to your TV.
If not registered your TV will deny any connection attempt due to security measure.

Yeah I agree with last post your using wifi direct which I have trouble keeping a connection with the tv to, for dlna turn on file sharing in setting on your now then on your television go to your input menu and your note should be listed then find the file you want to play. Hope this makes sense see pictures
Hi Guys,
I just got an HTC ONE and I absolutely love it. I have gotten so much help from this forum hopefully I can start assisting others on my own.
I am also waiting for a chromecast to ship to me, and I am getting a Roku soon.
My basic question is can I do the following:
Use PS3 Media Server on my mac for DLNA streaming. Connect to that server with my Android Skifa app (Select PS3 Media Server as Source).
Then can I select either Roku or Chromecast to stream directly to my TV?
I think If I have my Roku with a DLNA channel I can just choose that as the player in Skifta.
I know if I want to use Roku it will have to be another DLNA hookup. I believe that if I want to do it via Chromecast all I need to do is cast my android screen (which is not available yet but I am hearing there are groups working on that funcitonality.)
Can anyone give any thoughts on if this is possible, if I am explaining the procedure correctly, and if you think this functionality will come to the chromecast in the near future? Thanks a lot for your help!

Tried to do it from my s6 to Samsung smart TV using mx player/allcast but this message popped up on the TV and said the video isn't supported or something like that. Help?

Install growbox open it then open showbox select external for the player after you select a movie then when it asks what to play with select all cast choose tv and boom it streams.

Okay I'll try that next. Also when I tried streaming even just a minute long video I took from my s6 using all cast it would stop and buffer every 5 seconds..

Sigh. I got it working but a few mins into he movie a message pops up on the TV and says check Internet connection. I stream Netflix and everything just fine.. And showbox app works fine when I just stream it on my phone.

when I stream I usually send it to my xbox one , however it should be fine to the tv itself as well , I am hard wired tho , not wireless for the internet connection to the tv/xbox , sounds like it might be slow connection it its pausing or buffering, also latlly I been having problems loading up showbox , they just sit there and take a while to load , I finally gave up on showbox and loaded kodi (formally xbmx) on my htpc computer
I've been having issues with Showbox too lately, it used to work flawlessly all the time, I would stream either from my phone or Nexus 7 to Chromecast. However most films now just don't load, I've got a Sony Smart TV now and I use BubbleUPNP with Showbox and it will play some films but most just do nothing.
I've tried the above and installed Growbox and AllCast and those do not work either ?
can't you just screen mirror???
