[Request] S3 new features - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

I was amazed by new features of of Galaxy S3 such as, smart stay and direct call from SMS program, etc...
Is there anyway to have these features in our Note. Google play contains an app called Iseeyou as a replacement for smartstay, but it doesn't work as it should with me.
Any advice?? Thanks in advance

If you badly want those features, consider buying am s3 as no replacement app would be perfect and would function the way it was on s3. Closest we got for smart stay is the one you mentioned but doesn't really work for everyone

Thanks alot for your interest. The buying of new S3 is not the solution, may be preferably wait to months and get Note2. I am looking forward to have all of those features soon in note as it doesn't need special hardware. the new feature I am loving in is that ability to call the SMS sender by just elevating the phone to ur ear, just need the gyroscope and proximity sensors (i think!!). So, I think it will be available soon in other devices.
Regarding the IseeYou, i managed it to work by the following steps:
1- open the iseeyou app
2- tick enable ISeeYou service
3- click the settings icon under screen time out is set to xx
4- insure that the ISeeYoue service is off
5- goto settings-> display --> sleep set it to sleep after 1 minute at least.
that's what i did and worked for me.

S3 dialer (real one not themed)
Is there a way to port the S3 dialer to our beloved Note?
I know that it is listed in a few roms already but that is only themed old dialer.
The S3 dialer has a bigger caller ID picture like on the photo below:

I just know one dialer that is exDialer. Don't know if its the right thing what you are searching for. Its on playstore.

For Smart Stay: download "SmartStay EX" from google play. It's the same developer who developed it for S3.
For Auto Call Answer by holding the phone to ear: download "ProXimity Talk" from play store.

I think not of all had this 'off' option.
Some people say he can't turn off his i9000, if you have same issue,
please let me know, Thanks.
Why does it need these permissions?

full Internet access
Phone calls
read phone state and identity

Ah...Many of people ask me to disable Galaxy S II 's focus sound, the sounds very annoying for everyone?
Thank you!!!
Great idea but doesn't work on HTC sensation (stock Telstra AUS rom, rooted).
Telstra ROM doesn't allow you to turn off camera sounds so this would be useful.
(All sounds- shutter, beeps, and focus would be good).

I have already stated i hv used third party apps available in the market, but they dnt work perfect a they r not tailor made for note, also they just show up on top of the system caller id,n hence they are lagy, there was a mod, "popurri full screen"for sg2 n it worked flawlessly, wishing the same charm on my beloved note

I'm wondering if it may be possible to take the apk file utilized by the phone dialer from a pure aosp ROM and use a root explorer to copy that apk into the system app folder and reboot the device to get this dialer on the note. Any experienced dev care to chime in on the possibility of this method working?

that is a totally different app.
Its meant to increase the quality of contact image ( ie to fix something google has screwed up big time and no signs of improving. )
What the OP wants is something like ASOP dialer which shows full screen contact in outgoing and incoming calls.
for that good dialer who manage to see picture with hi res, and no lag you can install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797698

I have just flashed this MOD and I must say I'm amazed
The mod was uploaded on XDA by user stgeo but the real wizard behind it is Italian user Juros77 on Androidiani forum.
I was a bit scared to flash this on AlianceROM 2.1 because I thought that it will not fit in such heavy modified theme as the one on Robbies ROM but it works great and it looks great.
Only downside I see right now is the absence of recording button but I believe developer will fix that in the future also.
The original thread of the MOD is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920091
and the screen-shot of a phone in action:

Hi:
Some feedback for you: I have a Galaxy Note 2. The speed-dialer works perfectly for me, but the Call and SMS log crashed every time I tried to fire it up. If I can help provide any info on how to fix it, let me know. I'd like to use it.

Hi and thanks for the feedback! I am notified of this problem, and at this moment I can only suggest this workaround: if tha app doesn't display data when you start it, just swipe right / left, in order to switch to detail mode, and back to the list, which will cause a refresh. My log data reading sometimes fails in its initial attempt, no idea why. It seems to be only on certain phones only, I'll look into it!

[Q] 'Messaging' App

I'm looking to sideload the sms app that i've had with two previous android phones. After getting my new N5 yesterday, it seems the stock 'messaging' app has been replaced in favor of hangouts. New to hangouts, but after about a day, i can say f-that. I know other sms apps are out there, but i really just want the one I've had for years. I promise I've used the search feature, please don't fault me if this info is out there.

The problem is that the messaging app wasn't installed. My N5 was bought from the play store jsut this week. Maybe it is installed on the t-mobile or sprint variants? Has anyone pulled that apk and posted it anywhere? My wife just got an unlocked moto x and it has it.

[Idea] [Poll] Quick Settings in Android Wear!

Hi everyone!
Today I've created a mockup of my own idea: A Quick Settings interface for Wear!
As lots of other users out there, I hate to scroll 5-6 times to finally turn on airplane mode when I want to use my smartwatch as a watch only. This would be a much better and of course, faster option to turn settings on- and off quickly with only one slide...
Maybe we could add Location and theather mode to the bottom line, but as I see, three icons would do the job.

I hope if we create a bit of a hype Google will consider creating something like this in the M edition of Android Wear...
Anyway... Do you like the idea?
Looks cool. Doesnt 5.1.1 already have something similar?
No, it does not. This is especially annoying because you cannot use WiFi directly without putting the device in airplane mode first.
This is awesome and would be incredibly useful for me.

Why would you want to do this? Airplane mode disables interaction in the google apps. If you want to force wifi, better to turn bluetooth off on your phone.
The reason is if you want to use an app online. For instance, if you need a web browser or es file explorer on your watch. Bluetooth has no bearing. The system does not allow user apps to go online. There are two solutions (not one like I said before).
1, enable airplane mode, and then enable and connect to WiFi.
2, Put the app you want to have WiFi access in the system folder (I think both priv-app and app work).
Of course both have drawbacks, but that is the way it is right?

Apparently, like a lot of other solutions that have been found in android wear, there's an unofficial way to do things.
See web browser for a.w.
Looks awesome, maybe I'm slowly considering to get one of these petting watches
Yes please.
I like it ? should really be in it
yes please! I don't understand why google insists on coming up with a more "watch specific" interface for Wear, when scaling down vanilla android would have been a more familiar experience: pull down for toggles, swipe left/right to access your screens where you can deploy icons for quick launch apps, or one screen dedicated to notifications ala samsungs' touchwiz widgets page? I would pay for a mini version of Nova launcher on my watch.
