Poetic Slimbook Case for TF700t - $7.95 - Asus Transformer TF700

I just ordered this case, its not in stock until tomorrow. Its cheap and should be a good starter case. I'm not expecting much, but it would be a good backup.
http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimbo...e+for+the+ASUS+Transformer+Pad+Infinity+TF700

I also ordered this case from poetic directly. Hopefully itll be decent. Anyone know of a case of this fashion thats a little further up the quality totem pole?

I will try this one out as well.

Well that was fast! Just got mine in. Of course, as luck would have it, I left my Infinity at home today and can't try it out yet. It seems like a nice case though. There's a magnetic clasp and the hand strap is there. My only concern is whether it will be too top heavy when used as a stand. By itself, it just falls over, but I'm hoping the weight of the tablet will fix that.

Woah you already got yours! I get mine on monday. I'm glad to hear that its not too bad and I'm happy to hear about the hand strap, I didn't even notice that.

Got my case, the I am pleasantly surprised for the price. I I can definitely tell the hand strap Will get loose over time. It does look nice, but but has that pleather smell.

I got mine too. Pretty good for the price. Fits nicely and the mag clasp is a surprise.

Is it possible to dock with the case on?

This is an awful case. Have it...

It is for the TF201 but fits the TF700 fine (most of the cases you see advertised for the TF700 are the same as the TF201). The TF700 is just a tad taller so clasp is just a bit tight but other than that it's a perfect fit, none of the ports are covered and the camera is exposed.

I have that case as well. Bought it for my TF201 and it fits the TF700 perfectly. Great quality and everything. Wouldn't want another one

this looks like a good hold me over case until a gumdrop or griffin case gets developed.

My only problem with the case, after a few weeks of use, and is that the securing flap is a bit loose so the pad slides down a bit. I anyone else notice it? I plan on buying some low profile velcro to fix it.

my slimbook arrived today and i actually like it. it is definitely slim. my cheap stylus needs to be upgraded, as the tip came off when trying to push it through the holder (not a biggie though). i think this will do well to hold me until the Gumdrop case is available.

I started having the same problem after about the same time. Today i went and bought some " stick-on hook & loop fastener" for $1.30~ at Wal-Mart. It works perfectly and has renewed this case. I actually really like it now as it makes the case really snug and feel secure.
TIP:
1) press the two strips together ( so they are even), then cut it to about 3 to 4 inches ( eyeball the length)
2) remove the adhesive film from one side only and stick pieces on the leather part first, make sure your tablet is seated firmly in the case (press the strips on until the fill secure). then push the flap with strips in until is snug. after that hold in place while you remove the second adhesive fillm, and close it.
3) let it sit closed a few minutes and you're done.

Here are some pics of my case after the transformation. i really think companies that make this style of case should start using hook & loop fastener strips like this from the start. it's cheap and shouldn't add much at all to the cost of the product.

WARNING! does not protect against drops! I just dropped my tablet as I was closing my car door. The tablet dropped from my hands about 3 feet or less, screen is shattered! it landed on a corner and that was it. I'm contacting Asus now about replacement/repair. Definitely don't have this case in mind for drop protection...but for looks and design it's fine.

[Q] Case for the TF300T

Anyone know where I can get a case like the one attached, for the TF300? I found it on Amazon but it is not currently in stock.

It was $12.99 when I bought it. I haven't received it yet so I can't tell you if its good or not. I only payed like $3 for it since I had $10 gift cards on amazon. So, hopefully it is worth that

this case has the headphone hole in the wrong location so you have to make your own whole. i have this one and had to cut it to create a hole for the headphones. other than that its a solid case. i just got it yesterday.

Quick Review: I really like this case. I have both this one and the Caseen Green Plaid case. I like them both. I prefer this one for work at a desk and static viewing. The caseen case is very superior for use on the move and the hand strap is priceless for working while moving and holding it. Both cases are well made without strong odor and were originally designed for the TF201 (Caseen's has been modified for the TF300 by Caseen)
The TF300 fits very well into the case without having to be forced and the velcro holds it very securely.
Pictures! (I'm an IT guy not a photographer)
Front Shots in the case standing up.
There is a microphone under this leather
You can see the hole punched in the Caseen case for the mic here:
This is where the headphone jack is:
See the hole in the caseen case:
Here is the camera on the right and the light sensor on the left. As you can see the light sensor is slightly obfuscated, this is not an issue for me since I don't use it.
Here are the speaker cut out (very slightly off) and the camera cutout (with the cut out for nonexistent flash)

Maybe... on one hand, its only slightly thicker, not enough to make a case not fit. On the other, the buttons and ports were all moved around, so that may mess with how things are aligned.
Wonder if OtterBox will make a case?

Thanks for that link! They have 25% off for a couple of days. Got myself a stylus and a car charger.
I would like something similar to the Official Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 case... been using that for a year on my tab and its brilliant.
I'm probably going to be picking mine up at a retail store, so I'm hoping to find a nice slip case that will fit the tablet and dock.
I just got my TF700T and love it so far, but I'm worried about scratching it, so I was wondering if there was something like the CaseMate "Barely There" case for this Tablet?
Also the smart cover things that at Asus' own webshop, have anyone tried them? Are they worth buying?

I'm using the TranSleeve designed for the Prime (TF201), it fits well and is actually pretty cool. You have a few "standing" options (movies / typing) etc.
There is TranSleeve Dual coming, which is supposed to cover the Infinity with or without the dock, but it's hard to tell when it's going to be available in Europe.

I got the TranSleeve Dual while I thought I was getting the regular TranSleeve. The Dual one is pretty much useless without a dock.
Sure, you can prop the thing up similar to the regular sleeve, but it feels bulky, and since the tablet is only held in place in the sleeve by silicone stripes (or whatever they are) at the sides, it tends to just slide out of the sleeve. The actual propping up also feels bulky since it's supposed to fit the dock as well and wrap around both when you close them together. Suffice to say, I'm returning it since it's useless to me without the dock.
This is my leather case what i order last week http://www.noreve.com/langue/en/pro...Infinity_TF700T_Tradition_B_leather_case.html

That appears to be the same as Amazon's "Poetic-Transformer-Infinity-Keyboard-Portfolio" -- I'd post a link but I'm not allowed to since I haven't got ten posts yet (the logic behind that escapes me).
The poetic is cheaper at $14.95 and free shipping. I've ordered one but it won't get here until tomorrow. I also purchased on ebay:
360-Rotation-Leather-Case-Cover-for-ASUS-Transformer-Pad-Infinity-TF700T-10-1-/271011459951?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item3f198ab36f
Which closely resemble's Amazon's "MoKo-Detachable-Transformer-Horizontal---Lifetime," but I think the ebay one looks better and is cheaper as well. I haven't received it yet either -- it appears to be coming directly from China with free shipping but won't arrive for another week. I'll try and update this as soon as they arrive.
I have a case that is basically identical to that one that I got for my Prime. It is a nice case but it adds a lot of bulk to the tablet & keyboard combo. I just got a different case from Amazon that is much better: the "Poetic(TM) 2in1 Ultra Light Leather Case for Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 10.1-Inch Android Tablet"
This case adds much less bulk. The other case has a third flap on it that is really unnecessary.

Long thread with very little information about cases for tablet and keyboard together. So I think a thread that focuses on this specific combination has some merit.

The thing I'm looking for is to have both a tablet and keyboard case that can be together or separated. So sometimes I want to take both the tablet and keyboard and want something that works nicely. Other times I want to take just the tablet and don't want to bring the keyboard. So I want the case to shrink to be tablet only and allow me to attach or detach the keyboard.
The Poetic-Transformer-Infinity-Keyboard-Portfolio was a little cheaper and I figured for $15 how wrong can I go. Thanks I ordered it!
Anyone know of a real leather case for the combo besides the noreve? I'd like one with the pockets inside like the poetic cases.

I've this one since a few days and it's very great !!!
For the cost, very good quality. You can separate easely the keyboard and the the TF700.
Look is beautifull (like a filofax), very good prize !!!
For me it's a must have for TF700 user with dock.
Camera front and back, power, micro sd, sd are good.
One only a little thing is "bad", there are (en francais 2 élastiques) for to keep the keyboard in place (not very beautifull, this point give a look cheaper only for this part). The access for the usb port is a little hard and it's the same for the power supply (on the keyboard).
A last thing, when you open the case, the connect since the TF700 and the keyboard is sometimes lost ... You must to press a little the keyboard and it's okay.
For all the rest, it's very a good case
P.S. : sorry for my english ...:silly:

I bought that case, but I must say, the quality is pretty cheap. I'm not really sure what I should expect, but it does do it's job of protecting the tablet's exterior so I'll give it that much. The material used however, is fairly cheap/low quality to the touch.
I'm not okay at all with you ... It's a good value for money !
For this prize, it's not possible to have real leather.
There are other cases with best quality of material but very more expensive ...
I received the poetic case. Overall I like it. It feels good and splits easily so you can detach the keyboard and carry it as a portfolio.
Negatives are in portfolio mode the flap is loose since it has extra slack to close around the keyboard. I don't think this is a big issue. The one thing I really don't like is that it doesn't have any stand mode. So if you want to stand it up to watch a movie or just look at email you will need to prop it up with the flap but it isn't designed for this and isn't stable.
Overall I am not satisfied with this cover. I am still shopping.

Hi,
Same question for me: any feedback?
I have the impression that the video watching position is too inclined..
I've had the poetic case (looks the same) for over a week now. I'm still looking. the case looks nice. While it adds quite a lot of bulk, I am mostly using the tablet for work, and it looks pretty professional. Alot of people are concerned about the bindings for the cases, but they seem ok to me (except you have to take off the dock strap to charge). However, I have found that with the dock and tablet cases on I have some difficulty joining and disconnecting the dock and tablet. Sometimes I have to struggle so much I'm a bit worried about breaking it. It takes a fair bit of time (well a couple of minutes anyway), which does not suit me if I need to whip off the tablet quickly to show something to someone or change orientation of the tab if needs be.
I've now just taken the dock cover off because it gets covered by the tablet folio, and seems to dock a bit easier.
Am now looking for a tablet and dock cover that doesn't impede docking, and can cover the screen of the tablet ok without the dock in it. Not in a hurry though cause the Poetic is still pretty ok for the price.
Edit: Don't recommend this case. Very tight to dock the keboard and have scratched the edge of the tablet and ruined 1 screen protector getting it on. Need something with thin leather padding on the dock edge of the tablet.

Not sure if it's the same case as with Prime but there were a lot of complains that this transleeve causes scratches.
Im curious how well the cover fits. I also have one from my prime and although it appears to fit initially, it doesn't actually lock in and it falls of rather easily. When I look at it from the bottom, I can see the hooks on the cover don't fully catch in the dock slots. Also, the usb cable connector opening isn't centered as it should be in the covers cut out. It's as if the dock connector slots are slightly deeper than they were with the primes. I am curious if this is just my device or in general.

The slots on the TF700 have been redesigned. I'm not sure what the correct term for the bit of the slot that the latching mechanism clicks into, but I'll call it a shelf. On the TF201, the 'shelf' was part of the case, which meant that when attaching it to the dock, or in this case, the cover, the action of attaching would caus abrasion of the outward facing part of the 'shelf'. On the TF700, the 'shelf' is recessed, and made from what seems to be steel, so, although it will also get abraded, the marks will be fewer and less visible.
The recessing of the shelf means that the the 'neck' of the latches being pushed in needs to be slightly longer so that it latches in behind the shelf properly. In the case of the cover, it is not. This could be rectified by grinding off a portion of the latching, to extend the neck a little. A mm or so should be enough. I plan on doing this when I get some time.
I hope this explains it, despite my lack of knowledge of the correct terms for all the bits involved.

UPDATE:
The posts on the transleeve are millimeters from allowing proper attachment. On hinge of the transleeve are some rubbger spacers to hold the hinge away from the tablet. I removed those spacers and that provided just enough additional space for the hinge to latch into place. Hope that helps.
Please post a picture of your mods to help everyone understand what you've done...
There were already other threads on this, so no news here. I've been using it for two months now, but sporadically, it's ok, but I don't love it, the dock or neoprene sleeve is a better cover. Plus it leaves "stains".

?? I have 3 transleeves and all 3 of them fit the TF700 perfectly, no modding required. Sounds like you got unlucky.
My prime's origami case also doesn't fit well on my infinity. I mean it fits, but it is in no way secure. It doesn't latch at all and falls off with the slightest tug. Isn't there an official origami case for the infinity?

Amazon UK and Asus shop both list them in Stock.

Case that is tablet and keyboard dock compatible

Does anyone have or know of a good case that is compatible with the dock and the tablet?
Thanks

Not sure what exactly you are looking for ... I got one which I would rather call a bag than a case, but serves my purpose perfectly. The link goes to the German Amazon site, but I guess you should be able to figure out enough detail to be able to look it up.
You should take a look in the case thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734083
I reccommend the Caseen PERFECTO. I've had mine since Christmas, and it's just awesome.
Thanks FireBrazer =)!
caseen thinks your awesome too!
The Caseen case is pretty nice. It doesn't have a lot of the issues I've had with other cases. (Misaligned holes for ports/mics/cameras, etc). Those would be my recommendation as well.

I too would highly recommend the caseen cases. I got the red/black caseen duo perfecto and love it. Thinking about splurging and getting the leather one now as well...
SOMEONE TALK ME OUT OF IT PLEASE! wife's not gonna be happy.
I also have a Bobj Case. Love that one as well but for different reasons. Nowhere near as pretty (sorry bobj but it's true) and you have to pull the bottom edge back to attach the keyboard, but the rounded edges make holding onto the tablet in landscape mode way easier as your thumb actually has something to grip onto. Also it doesn't need a handstrap because it's sort of 'sticky'. But i do have to take it off and wash it every couple of days.
Anyone has any experience about Poetic 2 in 1 Flexbook-case?
Or in reality I will have knowledge about it soon, because I've already ordered it from Amazon.uk.
Just thought that if someone would have something to say from it already.

I have this case and I think it is very good you won't be disappointed.
I've got the poetic as well and it's pretty decent. One of the camera jokes was slightly off but just need to nudge the case a little girl the front camera. All the other ports line up. The ability to snap the keyboard part off and on is nice. Th e cover for just the tablet is a little bit at that point but still works nice.

I'm liking this...especially with the fact I can detach the keyboard and still have a cover. Ordering now and will update my thoughts
UPDATE: I am really digging this case. The ability to separate the tablet from keyboard and still have protection....priceless. I have a small stylus so that fits in perfectly. Good job Cellmac!

Had mine for about a month now. Works awesome and the the flap cover has softened enough so that it'll sit flush if you just have the tablet only. Good cover for the money. The SD card slots are so tight there's no way your cards will fall out. Hard enough getting them out when you want it. The stylus loop could be a little more off center though. You have to have a short one or the pen will stick over when it slides to the clip.

I have to say I have the Poetic and my only complaints are it really adds a TON of bulk, and it seems to also put some extra strain on the hinge, which for those that have a history with the ASUS tabs brings back bad memories of the old 201.
Looks good though.
Discovered one problem with Poetic 2 in 1-case, when you first keep tablet and keyboard/dock in this case, case stretch a little and
after that when using case with tablet only, it doesn't close properly. Maybe after using it for a while with tablet only it'll revert back.
igadgitz Black 'Guardian' PU Leather Case
I got the Igadgitz "Guardian" case for mine. amazondotcom/gp/product/B00940KAA2
It worked great for a while. I could detatch my dock and still have a stand for my tablet without having to remove it from the case. The only problem was that after a while, the leather started cracking really bad. :crying: I ended up just replacing it with a sleeve cas that has many pockets.
That would be crazy if UAG decided to make one for the tf700 !!!
asus case
i ve brown one
