For a novice post to the general or q&a forums.

Have you tried using the search functionality? It's likely others have experienced the same problem as you and the question has already been answered somewhere

ok. I understood. many many thanks for all who repply this post.. !!!

Welcome

Just so you know, questions ARE NOT meant to go into the development threads. Those are for bug reports only..NOT QUESTIONS. This is part of the reasoning behind needing 10 posts. It is in the hopes that you will learn these things first. There is a Q&A forum for questions.

Mr. I understand what you mean... maybe Iam write the wrong words.. its not a question what I need to do, its a bug on that room what I installed on my samsung skyrocket... and because have that bug on my phone I need to put a repply so maybe the room developer fix that bug.... however.. thanks for your repply . . .

Was wondering the same question too..

Heya
mee too.

Mods need to close this thread, else it will become another one of those "I want 10 posts, so I'll get them from here" threads...

So just posting in the general section is how you get to the 10 post limit. Is what I understand.

Questions are not posted in the development sub sections of specific device's forums. They are posted in the Q&A sections.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1399
See here.....this is a view of all the sub sections for the SkyRocket. Ask questions in Q&A.

[Q] Question about posting in development section

Hello, I have an Arc with BL unlocked and rooted. Today i go on CM7 using {ARC/ARC S}[DEVELOPMENT] - CM7.1.0 - FXP041 FreeXperia Project post in development section.
All go fine at the first try, awesome ROM and great job from the team FXP. When I try to reply the thread to thanks the Team for the ROM and tell them that I am very grateful, hallucinated and excited with the release the forum says to me that i can´t post in that section because i am a new user :S. Also I can read that maybe I need to post 10 times in other forums before posting development section. I don´t want to troll forums for posting in development section. Someone knows a solution for my problem?
I don´t know where I should post my problem, so I choose Q&A section. If I am wrong please take the liberty of moving it.
P.D.: Sorry for my English.
The solution would be to make use of the "THANKS" button, which was made exactly for the purpose to stop thanks posts.
Read the hints for new users, it recommends you to ask questions here and also answer questions here, none of it would be trolling. 10 posts isn't that much

[Q] Problem with a thread

Hi guys,
I cant post in a thread i wanted to post in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
because i didn't write 10 post yet.
I simply wanted to say that i need a branded firmware for my phone.
Would be nice if someone of you guys could just post the needed information.
I don't wanna spam 10 post just so i can make one usefull post

germany huh? pretty sure you can get t mobile out there brotha... grap yourself an htc inspire
Nah, i already got a Samsung Galaxy S2. I want to root it, but i cant get warranty anymore if i cant set it back to a branded firmware from base. So in wanted to post in that thread my information, but i cant cause i need 10 post first and i didnt want to spam.
Well, you need to post somewhere, no?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
You can pm the OP, if that's who you need to request the firmware from. If it's from the community, let me know and I'll post it for you.
If you don't want to spam but want more posts, go to the Android Q&A or your device's Q&A subforums and answer any questions you might know the answer to. You can also join in on any discussions in the General subforums. You can post anywhere but Development and the Marketplace (I think anyway), so I'm sure you can find something useful to say somewhere.

ICS tester here!

kindly send me msg if you have something to test(new release, apps etc) for i9003 for free! its because i use it also, might as well help ....hehehhe
which lead me to wonder if we have bugtracker of some sort(yeah i read threads for i9003 custom roms and noticed the bugs are reported in those threads)
You had to create a NEW THREAD for this?
You could have just posted it at the ICS CM9 or ICS MIUI thread?!
i would if i was allowed to post in dev section ...

Don't be so mean, if there's a qna thread for ics point him to it, no need to tell him off. Its a general thread, I've seen people post threads called 'official off topic thread's with it stickied and 'general thread here!'. I don't know if there is a qna for ics, if I would I would point it to him.

an easy way to do it would be for OP to get the files he wants and start testing, while browsing the forum and commenting appropriately on things they have questions about, etc. since I've heard there's a 10 post minimum before posting in the dev section, I'm sure reading around will help give them an idea how the forum works, and help the apparently unavoidable NOOB FLAME when questions are asked inappropriately. that may be part of the reason for the posting limit, you know
so, cyborg5, why not get those files, install, and read around a bit while taking notes of things you find in testing, and when you reach 10 posts you'll be able to provide feedback in the appropriate place?
thanks.. ive installed this port for 2 weeks now..problems i found were already posted, so to be safe..i didnt repost..and i also found this(tester call in irc)

thanks anyway...!

If you have read around the subject and used the search and still are not sure about something then its completely fine to ask a question.
BUT if a quick search finds the answer on the forum you will be flamed so make sure to read read and read some more.
But we are here to help if you really can't find the answers needed

You need to make like 10 posts in non development threads before you can post in the development section.

Just go around and give a simple thank you to all the Devs in the general section. You'll be at 10 posts before you know it. I had the same problem as you did. Now all is well

Right?
I have been lurking for years, but only recently did I obtain anything useful to say, but it would not allow me to. So when I went to post on the thread I was like,
RAAAAAAGGGGGEEE!!!!!!
But I suppose it would not hurt the forums out to have a few miscellaneous general discussion posts.

I too am frustrated by the 10 post rule - I'd be happy to help out answering questions if I knew what I was doing enough to contribute, but I don't. How am I supposed to learn if I can't ask questions? Just doesn't really make sense to me . . .

You can help and ask questions...in the Q/A section. We all had to do it so it's not like you're the first to be saddled with these limitations.

Guess I assumed this forum wasn't really designed for questions regarding rooting the phone. I pictured it more as a troubleshooting section / more general forum and thought questions regarding rooting a phone were for the developer thread. Perhaps I got my wires crossed

Oh nah Q/A is perfect for all GSIII questions haha I guarantee if you post a new thread about anything that is not your developed rom/mod/kernel in either dev section, you'll be met with a lot of negativity. I'm not even joking. A good tip to know is: when in doubt, post it in the Q/A section. Typically post in a developer thread if you're reporting bugs or helping someone else in that thread similar to what I'm doing right now with you. Only create a new thread in either development section if you developed something and want to share it.
