That option is not really helpful..! Either Calibration is totally messed up....or battery is dead!

Battery may have been swollen or dead
Same happened to me too, you have to buy a new battery now....my battery had swollen 2x its size , It charged from 0-100 in 5minutes and then discharged in 2minutes.....It had swollen and died.
I think the same happened with you , either it has swollen or it died.
Battery Swells when due to over charging and high temprature!
Hope I helped you...

mine too died buy a new one

These days Ive been encountering an unusual battery ecperience!..
My Fit's battery is not getting "100%" charged!...Sometimes it gets stuck at 68% or sometimes 88% or 75%!..
No matter if I put my phone in charging throughout the night, the battery seems not increasing!...Today I only got 35% batter with the charger connected throughout the night!..:what:...
Later, I tried cleasting battery stats it got good after that for the first "100%" charge and then the same thing again!...
Is there something wrong with my phones battery or what? ...[My Fit is an Year old]…„

I bought new battery a week back...
And I can't reach 100% charge on it...ever...
88 is max, when plugged in...the batt indicator refuses to go above...
If I do the same with my old batt, it reaches 100 (but drains out quickly, which is why I changed)...

Ya...forgot to mention about the "gigadrain" when battery reaches 100% and u unplug the charger!
I barely got 4hours from 100-0, on 2g, screen at 25%...silent+vibration...stock max and min with smartassv2 and noop/sio...
Go launcher...sync off, with maps and gmail frozen...Fb update every hour, k9 checks three email accs every 4hours...whatsapp always on...
A few passive widgets, and no live wallpaper...
(My usual default setup irrespective of rom)
Now I get a total of ~12hrs
Typed using a small touchscreen
Well i've never had that problems...
I've read in some threads (forgot where), that after flash new Rom we better take off the battery from our phone for about 5 minutes (besides calibrate the battery)...
Than just charge it as usual..
And my battery is working fine...

Try to delete the batterystats.bin
Hi,
did you try to delete the batterystats.bin?
This file is located at /data/system .
When you delete this file, the batterypercentage will be resetted.
Then you must fully discharge the battery and charge it overnight.
Now Android is going to make a clear batterystats.bin .
Sorry, my english is not so good.

[Q] hi i have this very odd battery problem

i have a htc sensation xe with beats audio
phone is rooted and flashed with OrDroid 4.0 Ics 4.0 Sense... before i also tried ARHD... bricked kernel...
Stock battery
i have this very weird problem..
my phone has inaccurate reading of the battery..
here are the issues:
1. the phone drains the battery by 2% each interval instead of 1%.. I mean its like, 100%,98%,96%,95%,94%,92%,90%
2. the phone lasts longer on the terminal part of the battery.. its like its the longest 3% of the phone's battery life!
3. whenever the phone is drained, and if i insert a charger, it will have inaccurate battery level reading.. here is an example:
my phone is at 9% of its battery life... i plug the charger to the phone.. it will charge.. after charging for around 2 hours it will show that the battery is at 57%... i plug the charger out.. restart the phone and bam! the battery will be at 100% or 99%.. i mean, its annoying.. i have to restart the phone everyday so that i can get an accurate reading of the phone's battery..
anyway...
i am done recalibrating the phone.. ive done this 3 times now...
and i also did every method for recalibrating the phone..
ive also done this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1558140&page=5
the smali editting thingy..
and ive also done placing a small business card on the battery to push the battery closer to the pins..
the only one i havent tried is to buy a new battery which is expensive! i dont believe the problem is in the battery though.. i think its in the firmware or something... i dont know.. anyway.. can anyone help me on this one??

From what I can understand you don't have any problem at all. The same think happens to me. Whenever I reboot the phone it will show at first more charge than it has, but after a few minutes it will go to where it was. Don't worry about percentage drops or increments, if your battery lasts as it should. I myself thought that battery calibration way essential after flashing, etc, etc. But now I am convinces that it has nothing to do with battery life.
Just IGNORE the percentage and enjoy your phone

hey can u update me if replacing the phone's battery solved the issue?? if it solved it then i guess i'd buy mine a new one too..
Hi there, as above poster said I'm not sure this is really a problem. Mine also does this say I'm on 95% then when I reboot it will say 100% for a bit then go back to 95% the true percentage. So what I'm saying is sometimes after reboot an inaccurate percentage will show for a time then it will catch up and show the correct percentage. It will happen with a new battery as well this is just how our device works. I recently purchased a new mugen 3500mah battery and after reboot I still get the same issue. It's not really a problem it's just the device catching up with the accurate battery percentage. As for the two percent increments, my device does not do that.. not sure why it's draining at 2% increments unless this is just how much your device drains for a specific amount of time. Perhaps your battery is draining At 2% increments because this is your consumption.? I really wouldn't worry too much unless it's jumping increments without being rebooted, like going from 73% to 60% to 50% all in a matter of five minutes. If that's the case then I would become concerned and likely think it's time to purchase a new battery. But you are only draining at 2% increments and I really don't think it's cause for alarm. Do watch it closely and if the percentages start to jump and drain at bigger increments, then perhaps invest in a new battery. But for now I agree with above poster and really wouldn't be too concerned. As I said just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse as the example I said, then get yourself a new battery. Until then I think your ok for now. I hope this helps. I wish you the best!

Have ever tried letting your battery drain 100%. until the device shut's down. and then take the battery out for oh let's say 5 second's. And then put the battery back in hit the power button . If it powers on your battery isn't fully discharged .and if it is plug it in and let it charge to 100% just my two cent's but worth a try

[HowTo] Calibrate your Li-ion Battery Perfectly

Many of My Friends are facing Problem With Battery as Rom shows wrong information about remaining Battery %... As a result your phone goes off and when you start your Phone again it starts to show different % battery that mean that your battery is not Calibrate.. I am making this guide so that every one on this world may enjoy their phone for long time...
Warning Do at your own RISK...! Dont do it again and again
Steps you need to Do -1 First thing you need to do is let your battery goes to 0%.. then again start your phone(Don't plug in charger) and repeat 1st step until your phone denies to turn on back..
-2 Then Charge your phone in Switched off mode to 100%
-3 Unplug your charger
-4 On phone
-5 Your phone is going to show % of battery lesser than 100%
-6 Charge your phone again in on mode to 100%
-7 Unplug your charger
-8 Restart your phone and repeat Steps from 4 to 8 again and again until on every restart u battery % shows about 97%to100%
-9Next step is to calibrate your battery Download free app from plat Store that is Battery Calibration
-10 Calibrate your Battery with the help of that app and make sure that your Battery % is 100
-11 After Calibration Use ur Battery Upto 0%
-12 Then Charge it again and Your battery will be Calibrated...
Enjoy..

DON'T ever do this! Discharging a Li-ion battery completely WILL decrease your battery life.
Next, the battery calibration app is nothing more but a hoax. It only deletes a file containing the battery stats which is ONLY used in the battery statistics screen in settings.
So please, DON'T!
It's true you get the same result from the battery calibrate app by wiping battery stats in recovery. Draining your battery does decrease battery life of li-ion batteries, same goes for your laptop. The theory to cycle your battery is a myth and actually wrecks your battery.

The 0% reported by the operating system is actually a bit higher than the voltage at which li-ion batteries will become damaged. Any modern phone should not allow you to discharge the battery to the point where it could cause damage.
Also there was an employee from Google IIRC that said wiping battery stats was useless because its only a file that keeps track of what apps used the battery and it wiped automatically when charged to 100%.

I admit, when that happens, the battery circuit is probably in a dumb state and it _may_ be useful then. But doing this regularly is incredibly dangerous for the battery. Yes, some phones bias the battery reading but the post suggests to actually force it empty while turning it back on and on and on and that really kills it.
Still, using the app is just pure nonsense.

You do realize why they make the reported 0% above the actual 0%. If you drain a lithium ion battery to actual 0% you'll permanently damage it. Also calibration is only useful if you want the OS to read the battery percentage more correctly. Lithium ion batteries themselves work perfectly fine with partial charge cycles.

That doesn't make any sense - you're stating in that post that turning on the phone damages the battery.
I will state this again: if you force your phone on and on again until it doesn't react, you may and on the long run probably will damage your battery. If your battery is not removable, this can also easily brick your device as seen with HP Touchpads.
If you feel that you must do something, simply drain the battery _once_ then charge it. This is the only thing that a sane electric engineer will ever advise.
Well that worked on my phone... i said that do at your own risk.... actually i am saying the same thing that drain your battery.. but if battery is not calibrate sometimes phone goes off even on 36% and if u charge at that point to hundread then that method will not work...

are we in need to wipe battery status for once in the recovery
What about for me, me tab has been saying 1% the past 3 hours and I've been using it and trying to kill it so hard but whatever I do it won't die. I want to "truly" get it to 1% or even 0% so I can then charge it back up to 100% in hopes of calibrating the battery to show what my actual % is. Any help will be appreciated greatly.

First check your battery whether it is swollen or not..
If not try to calibrate your battery.. Remeber calibrate doesnt increase battery life it will rectify your battery stats.. I think your battery stat is showing wrong info..
Let the battery drain off completely charge until 100 dont take out while it is charging.. Calibrate and restart you phone..

I have an after market battery with the same issue. I have been conditioning the battery by charging to full an draining completely while running those calibration apps. Seems to be getting better.
