I *think* you go to settings -> apps -> all -> and find the app/service you want to get rid of (bloat) and press "disable". I *think*. (I'm on cm9 now)

After upgrading, you'll easily feel how smooth and fast the tab became, it now works better than ever,
4.0.4 also contains: - improved overall performance.
- a new keyboard.
- lock screen now have shortcuts and news/stock ticker.
- Screen capture key can be edited or deleted.
- allShare play, check here to know what it is.
and sure can be rooted easily ... so if u like samsung stock stuff, this version is the best!

anyone know when tap 2 p5100 will get update ?

Edit : never mind i guess there some countries got it but weird that sammobile didn't show the version , just blank under version
Personally my favourite thing in the 4.0.4 update is the ability to disable the screen shot key that was on the verge of driving me nuts.

One question, If we flash this with Odin (KIES doen't give it) will the binary counter be triggered?

Which is US wifi only? I see Cellular South but nothing else. I had flashed the UK version but would like to use US. I tried update on the tablet and received "process failed" for the update

Hey guys! Anyone gotten a recent firmware update?
Been using my Note 10.1 for 2 weeks now. I'm rooted (but on stock ROM) so I know I couldn't install the update.
Currently with a HK set with build N8000ZSALG7 (baseband N8000XXLGA)
Technically if I wanna apply the update, I would have to flash stock recovery? I downloaded it off zedomax's tutorial. Its the same for any region right? *Noob alert
Appreciate any help! Thanks!
One X to rule them all
Ok I flashed the stock recovery and updated the firmware successfully.
Bad news is its not JB (duh). The good news is it brings a few small improvements we saw in the recent India JB leak.
First and foremost, the irritating keyboard pop up upon exiting an app opened from a folder on homescreen is gone!!
And I found some small changes to s note
- s note widget is now added
- scroll bar in s note (but no more collapsing of the toolbars for fullscreen! Horrid)
- new book covers
- new landscape note
Unfortunately, the new split screens hasn't been included and mini apps stay the same. Bummer. Also, no airplay for the s pen in gallery and video player.
Other than these, I haven't found anything else. More to come from Samsung I hope! Really wish they would bring back the fullscreen mode in s note though.
UPDATE: PDF import into S Note seems to work ok now

Sorry for the late reply. I only rooted my Note using Zedomax's CWM method (Method 2 if im not wrong). Didnt flash any other roms as i wanted the chinese input keyboard found only in asian roms. I am not sure if you can just change firmware to another region. Most of the roms are based on the EU stock roms.
In order to update, I had to flash back the stock recovery (apparently available online and universal) since it was in CWM recovery after rooting. This will enable any official OTA update.
Any form of flashing rom will result in wiping of data/settings. You need to use titanium backup after rooting. Rooting (flashing CWM and SuperSU) will not cause any data wipe.
Hope that helps.

First thing that greeted me this morning was a pop-up telling me that my Note just downloaded a 69.14MB update. Here are the details:

Build number: IMM76D.N8000XWALH1
After the update
Baseband version: N8000DXALI2

Heya.
I'm just curious - could you see if you've got some new stuff in S Note, for example a "landscape mode" template and scrollbars?
That comes in JB, but I've gotten the impression that Samsung rolls out some of these features to 4.0.4 as well in the latest OTA.
Thanks.
/primpa
maybe they have solved the problem of the wifi instability
Sigh sigh I have not yet received any update
Received OTA update today, can confirm: SNote with landscape template and scrollbars ..............

Same update, but now the device is in reboot loops. Little Android guy with globe thing in stomach counts to 100 after reboot. Cant get past that.
figure I odin something but hopefully wife doesn lose all info. Anyone got anyother suggestions, please pm me.
I got the update this morning and yea it does have the features you already know.
Some new and nifty features discovered:
Page flippinganimation and sound in snote
Able to type in title of note straight from the writing page., at the top bar.
However, lost of function to hide the top toolbar, which I always use
is this update just in US, our also for European devices?
Thanks people. Then my suspicions were correct that they sneak out these updates to S Note even before Jellybean.

Use CF Auto Root to root your phone, read the instructions carefully!
Updated to latest MG5 update.
Changes I felt so far:
- Phone feels faster.
- More free RAM (Screenshot attached, after normal usage and no clearing of memory).
- Camera opens faster.
- Weather widget still get cleared but it comes back instantly.
Been running EE EVR MG7 for about a week and I've noticed that when it goes into sleep - WIFI disconnects.
This means it uses up my 4G data when the screen is not on. It does reconnect when the screen comes on though.
Anyone else experienced the same? A friend of mine moved up to DBT MGA and said he got the same thing (for some reason one of the programs killed 1Gb of data in one night lol!)
Was thinking of moving to BTU MGA if its any different? thanks in advance.

Do not own this phone, so the answer may vary.
But afaik, Android defaults to cellular connection in sleep. There is an option in your wifi settings which allows you to select "wifi-connected" during sleep.
Search around in wifi and network related settings.
Switch it to "never"

The best way to find out is probably to read the thread, or at least the first post and the last load of recent pages. From what I have read/seen it seems to be very good and certainly usable for daily use. I don't think you should accept (or even receive) any OTA updates. As its essentially a custom ROM its probably safer to let the developer create a new update to flash. I have downloaded the 4.2.2 version but haven't installed it just yet, been hanging on for a new 4.3 version.

Hi, since I flashed the 4.4.2 Kitkat leaked version the tablet became "phone style" mode and everything is now strechted out to the big screen like its a 4 inch phone..
It wasn't like that when I was on the old JB stock..
Is there any way to fix it back some how?
I read some where (for nexus 7) that I can change the dpi in the build.prop and that force it for 'tablet mode' but I tried that and nothing changed..
Any one knows how to fix it?
Thanks,

Im not sure if all of them could be fixed by changing the tablet settings as it is an app incompatibility, but one thing I am sure is that the lecturenotes settings were always 2 sided so the main menu is on the left and the sub menu is on the right.. now it switches the whole window like in mobile phone..
I'm not sure about the others but just check how grosly its stretched out to fill the screen..
