Just wondering if anyone knows what causes the whirring sensation and sound that comes from the tablet when it first powers on?
It vibrates when you turn it on and off

Just be careful...
Why did they put a vibration motor in there? Is this part of Asus's push to attract more female customers?
Bootgasms anyone?

Tactile feedback for the onscreen keyboard would be the biggest reason. Games can use it, for example when crashing a car or getting shot. VoIP apps would get a silent/vibrate mode for incoming calls.

Exactly. I like the tactile feedback from my keyboard and games. If it wasn't there it would feel weird...

Of course. Only, the default SE Launcher doesn't support it. Just grab another one (Launcher Pro, VTL Launcher, etc.) and you'll have landscape support.
I ment on the normal UI because looking on the Vodafone website their picture is landscape??

Which picture? They tend to retouch images like crazy, but the SE launcher does not have landscape support. Many apps do though (Camera, Music player, and so on).
SE's official announcement flyer for example

With the game pad slid out the display is similar to the advertisement. When I close the pad, the screen switches back to 'normal'. This is on a R800x.

Thats bc you are on stock 2.3.2 android.
It's been done with the Sense launcher, so more likely than not, it's possible.

Hi
I am currently considering getting a Transformer Prime when they are released in the UK (was going to get a Galaxy Nexus, but the whole Volume issue has soured me) and I just wondered if there was a dock that just functioned as a charging dock etc?
I had one for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it was great for watching Movies when I was on a plane / train etc.
I just wondered if there was one available for the TF101, and such if I could expect one for the TF201?
Thanks
Stewart

I know this is off topic, but:

I think ASUS are making a charging dock. Not sure though

Yeah, but this method disables *all* notifications, not just the MicroSD notificaiton... It sure would be nice to get rid of the MicroSD and Keyboard dock notifications only...

I've got a lot of work on my plate for school but once I get it done I'll take a look at it and see what I can do.

There's no method for this so far apart from the one that disables all the notifications (linked above).
If you look in the Framework-res.apk you'll see the images for it if that helps any. Pic:

Yea that's what I've got
Plug the red wire into the yellow jack?
Lol I've tried every combination....
The best I've gotten is sound on a static screen...now I could make out that the picture is there but so much static screen that it wasn't viewable.
i have 3 different brand cables...one hard wired to my truck tv one for my portable projector and one for my pc monitor...all 3 cables are red to yellow for video.
