[Q] Is my phone Bricked? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

So I was using CM9 RC Build after switching from AOKP. Nothing going wrong with my phone, nothing funny when suddenly I go to sleep with my phone on the charger and wake up to the phone being extremely hot with a white outlined battery showing that it's charging. Whenever I hold down the Power Button it Vibrates once and does NOTHING. Taking the battery out and putting it back in results in one vibration and nothing else. Just a black screen.
All I had done last night was sit my phone down as usual and get some sleep, and wake up to this.
EDIT: Okay, nevermind. It seems to not have charged one single bit...Sorry!

Hmm. Major Issue Need expert help!

Hi all. I have years of rooting under my belt but this is the first Samsung phone i've owned and I've got quite an issue. I was playing a game and the phone just shut off on me. I went to restart it and nothing. Did a battery pull, i felt it vibrate like it was trying to turn on and still nothing. So I tried to boot into cwm using volume up/down and power and the Samsung splash screen flashes for a split second and then shuts off and the phone just vibrates like it's going to turn on but won't do it.
So I tried battery pulls, holding power down, and now when I plug it into the computer it vibrates every two seconds but won't turn on. What's the deal this seems like a major hardware malfunction and Odin/CWM none of that stuff is usable because it just won't boot into anything.
So last resort do you guys have any suggestions i'm all ears :-(
I've had this a few times before... I forget which one exactly but either vol up + power button...or vol down + power button gets you to download mode and then you can flash the softbrick fix.
or if you do manage to get to CWM, you'll need some quick fingers to get to the "install zip" option before it reboots. once in there you're good to flash your ROM.
or, get a USB jig to get to download mode and flash soft brick fix.

False alarm, apparently there is a battery bug reported on other forums. My phone had read 100% for quite awhile and I was digging the battery life but apparently i was over zealous. The meter was reading 100% but the battery was draining and the phone died. It wouldn't fire up until i left it on the charger for awhile. Very odd, guess I will delete this post and research this battery issue... unless someone else knows more about it
I have the same battery issue, but only when I use my car charger. When I take it off the car charger, it will read 100% till I reboot. Only after reboot will it start reading the battery state correctly. I DO NOT have this issue with the house charger...... Strange.
you guys after charging for 100% go to cwm and format battery status this will probably resolve ur issue.

Weird reactions on my Sensation. Urgently help needed.

Hello guys.
I have my Sensation and I did (100% correctly) its S-OFF, I install the touch recovery which worked fine, I even try like 4 or 5 ROMs until I get to AOKP Build 40. Then one night suddendly my phone turned off, I've tried to wake it up powering on but it did like a small vibration and the screen did a small blink, so I think it was the battery with low charge. I put the phone to charge connecting the charger and sometimes I see the orange led static, sometimes it blinks, sometimes it turns off almost immediately and sometimes it get static in orange (charging) and in a while go to green (charged 100%). By pressing the power button just a few times I has powered on, sometimes it freezes in AOKP logo, sometimes it pass it, enter into Android and then freeze, but almost everytime it never powers on, it just make small vibrations like every 4 seconds until I put the battery off and when I connect it via USB sometimes the screen blinks like if my phone is trying to turn on but something is preventing from doing it. Right now the last time it turn on was like 2 days ago, from that day it just do what I've explained. I've tried to power it on, VolDown+Power, etc. and nothing.
Can anyone tell me what happened to this phone? Some people told me is a software matter, some tells me is the battery. The thing is I have no idea what it is.
I have used XDA and Google like a demon and nothing. That's when I do the thing I hate the most: Make a thread.
Please help me on this, I need that phone returned from the state it is right now.
Thank you so much for reading me.
Best regards.
can you boot to recovery?
Is it a stock battery or anker battery? Sometimes the battery doesn't sit tightly on the contacts, place some paper between the top of the battery and the housing. I have never heard of your problem before but I have dealt with bad contacts and they have some similarities.

[Q] [Help] Phone won't turn on

So I am at work and I charged my phone fully, then I unplugged it and put it in the drawer at my desk. I have pulled it out a couple of times for random things, but put it back in the drawer. I just heard it vibrate and assumed I got a text, but I opened it up and when I pulled out the phone it was warm, like I had been using intensively, but I haven't touched it for probably an hour or more. I tried to turn it on, but the screen is just black. The phone has shut itself off. Tried turning back on, screen stayed completely black, didn't turn on backlight or anything, and just vibrated quickly then stopped. If I hold down the power button it will vibrate about once every four seconds. Battery pulled, tried again. Same result.
Currently running Paranoid Android 1.9.5a Everything has been working fine, so I don't know what could have caused this. Seems like maybe some rogue app started eating all the battery and the phone is just out of juice? Something must have been running though to cause the heat... I tried plugging it in to charge, but the same result, no activity on the screen, but it vibrates once every few seconds. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT
Let the phone sit for a few minutes to cool down. Tried turning on again and it booted up into recovery. I selected to reboot. Everything went normally, booted through K-exec, got to the main screen only to be greeted with a battery warning 0% battery left then immediately turned off. The phone was unplugged for MAYBE 4 hours, most of the time just doing nothing (that I knew of) So something must have been eating away at the battery like crazy that I didn't realize for the past couple of hours. Any ideas guys?

Did my S3 brick itself?

Looking for any help or guidance here. I searched the forums and have found limited info fitting my situation.
My S3 is rooted running Jelly Beans Build 15, today I was sitting here playing a game the phone was in use for a while so it was warm to the touch as it can normally become... mid game there was a slight flicker of the screen and it DIED.
Since then I can not get any power back. I pulled the battery, and tried to power up I get a vibe then nothing happens. I've tried to reboot into DL or recovery all it will do is vibe then nothing happens.
I plugged it into the charger and it will vibe, the LED doesn't come on, and the battery icon on the screen will flash on and off the screen, each time it appears there is a short vibe.. with all that the phone won't boot.
I've had it about a year. SO did it just sh!t the bed on it's own??

My first S3 did almost the same thing one day. My wife and I both got them on launch day and mine always seemed to run out of battery a bit faster than hers. One day, it got really warm in my pocket and the battery started draining out of control, it dropped 10% in a few minutes and just kept going until it was dead. Plugging it into USB to charge, it vibrated, I got the big battery icon on the screen, then reboot, vibe, icon, over and over again. I had to exchange it with Verizon.

Any chance you could get your hands on a different battery to try? I was in class once playing some dumb mini putt game some guys played next to me, and my phone just completely shut off. I couldn't get it to turn back on and at the time it turned off I had ~half battery. I got back to my room and put a different battery in it and it worked fine. I charged the battery that wouldn't work and it now works fine again. Not really sure what the problem is though...
But yeah. Find another battery to use to get it to boot back up
So the phone is alive and working. It seems there may have been an issue with the battery level and a bad reading. When the phone died it read 20%, I hooked it up to a usb power cable on my pc and work and it didn't work.
When I got home I plugged it into the OEM charger and it was showing the battery was essentially dead and charged the phone back up...
That's all that happened... strange but true

I think you have the same problem I did. When my phone completely dies and I plug it to the charger the battery charging icon goes on and off or if I get lucky stays on and charges it. But I put the same battery o. Another phone it charged instantly. I got a replacement from verizon.

Black Screen of Death - Back to life, now only Always-On working, any help?

So after owning my original S8+ for 3 months, the battery died one night and upon charging the next morning, I had the black screen of death. The phone would respond to my touches, it would charge, etc but the screen would never come on.
I ended up getting a replacement and putting this one in my drawer for a year. I pulled it out a week ago and plugged it in to the charger randomly and still nothing. After 2-3 hours (enough to fully charge it), I started pulling and plugging in the charge cable, along with continuous power button cycles; and BAM, the screen came on like nothing was wrong.
I unlocked it, used it for hours, backed it up just in case; and left it running on wifi. After a couple days of it running down, it was still working fine. Once it got down to ~10% battery, the screen stopped coming on.
I charged it back up to 100% and I"m now getting the always-on screen to show up. I can see the battery %, date/time and the home button on the bottom
As soon as I hit anything though, either the screen to unlock, or the power button, the screen goes off. It is responding to my inputs and I can unlock the phone via intelligent unlock/pin code/fingerprint, but something is causing it to not light up once it kicks off the always-on screen.
I've tried resetting it, as well a pwr down+bixby+power to get in to recovery mode; but even once it restarts the screen still wont turn on until it gets back to the point the always-on screen would come on.

Wow you hyped me up at 4 am I woke up and started to unplug and plug the phone while pressing the power butto
Now by chance have you guys tried to order a battery just to see. Samsung's are noted to do really weird stuff if the batteries are failing

So not to get you excited again at 4am but... I was able to get it back to life after plugging it in and letting it charge fully then repeating the steps in my original post.
It is definitely an error relating to the waking of the phone from the always on screen. I discovered this after toggling the always on settings then using the plugging/unplugging, home button press on the screen, power button harassment on the phone, causing it to finally spazz out completely and then out of nowhere the AOD blasts on.
i know this, it seems to be perfectly ok again until the battery does start to die. once it gets down to 15-20%, it will eventually go dark again until i get lucky and it gets enough juice aid/or tired of me touching everything at once.
