I was hoping to be able to synch my contacts and calendar from Microsoft Office Outlook like I can do with my HTC Android phone. I only see the options for Gmail and my regular email client, which is not MS Outlook.

As far as I know, this is some proprietary hullabaloo. I wouldn't expect this to sync your data to anything else than ASUS' own software.
There's a download on Asus' website for "Asus Sync", I reckon that's the client software you need installed.
If I were you I'd move all contacts to Gmail and sync those back to outlook again (Gmail supports ActiveSync). That way your contacts are always synced on both your tablet/phone and outlook. (Of course if the email account you're using with outlook supports ActiveSync you can just sync it directly with the tablet.)

Asus Synch App must be downloaded from the Support.asus.com website. It's not present on the tablet from the factory. Once downloaded and installed, Outlook Contacts and Calendar can be synched between the PC and the Infinity.

I am trying to find a combination solution to synchronize my windows live mail, contacts, and calendar with my phone. I know that Windows Live for Windows Mobile will sync my contacts and mail and I also know that the Outlook Connector will sync my calendar (plus more) with desktop Outlook. My real question is, does anyone know of a way to sync my phone's calendar with the windows live synchronized calendar created in Outlook using Outlook Connector. It looks like Outlook Connector has created an entirely new calender in Outlook. It seems like it also created a separate set of contacts and folders for email as well.

Just get Exchange. (It's free, too!)
http://win.alol.net.br/owa/auth/logon.aspx?replaceCurrent=1&url=http://win.alol.net.br/owa/
Then you can have PUSH mail, contacts, calendar, and tasks. I used to try to find solutions with Windows Live, and then I got Exchange. It's amazing.
Sorry that there's ads on that page, but they have to pay for the servers. Yet, it's all free for you!!! Click on the New User link on that page to sign up. You won't regret it!
(You have to forward your old mail to your new Exchange address. If you donate you can change your exchange's address to be whatever you want it to be)
Find more info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517693
I'm providing it for free. But on a Exchange 2003 server. You can have your reply-address set to any address you wish, so to the recipient it seems like you're using your regular mail address. I'm doing this in my spare time, so it's free (though donations are appreciated )
Hi,
I have a Samsung Nexus S
Android version 2.3.3
Baseband version I9023XXKB3
I would like to sync my Outlook contacts and calendar with the phone using my USB cable and I am having a problem as Samsung Kies doesn’t recognize my phone.
Is there any other software for Nexus S or do I have to install some different drivers?
I am using Windows 7.
Thanks for any help.
sync your outlook to Gmail account
then sync the phone to Gmail
it is a Google phone, it is a pure Google experience, not friendly bridge to Microsoft / Outlook
you will need this https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gappssync
Thanks for the link. I will try to do this, as I have a company shared Outlook Calendar, so all my Coworkers can put my meetings into it.
I have to have the option to select which calendar to Sync as I am not using the main Outlook calendar.
Will report later if it works, as I am currently out of office. Thanks so far.
nexus s does not work with samsung kies.

that's for Exchange server sync, not outlook
unless that's what they OP is trying to do
Nexus is Google device though Samsung is the manufacturer, hence Samsung kies will not support Nexus S

It all depends on how things are configured. My company uses google enterprise, so we have access to activesync on our google mail. We also use the apps syncronization tool to keep outlook perfectly sync'd with gmail.
So in some cases, this would be a good solution to sync everything.
When I try to install Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook® I get this error:
Error signing in
Google Apps Sync is not enabled for your email account. Please ask your domain administrator to enable it.
I have a custom domain and I am not using Google as a "provider".
did you login with your gmail account on the plug in settings?
either that or it needs Admin permission in your local machine, to enable the plugin in outlook (insufficient privileges or system policies in windows)
Yes, I loged in with my gmail account and the msg came out.
I guess I will need a custom software like this one:
gSyncit
Is there any free program like that?
I use outlook calendar sync with google calendar and the nexus calendar. Works very fine. You will need, on the computer where you have outlook,na little program from google to help syncing. Search on google help, its all in there!
Yes I know about that one, but it syncs the default calendar only. I have a company shared calendar listed under the default calendar and the software from google doesn't allow to select "sub-folders". :/
So I now love Android since getting an Android Gingerbread Tablet and Gingerbread phone... but the one thing I so far can NOT figure out how to do reliably and automatically is syncing my Outlook 2010 Contacts up to my Gmail account (which will then sync from Gmail to my android phone and tablet).
The only way I have been doing it right now is just export my Outlook contacts to a CSV.. then import the CSV into Gmail.. then Gmail syncs down to my phone.
Well this is not the 'automated' solution I am looking for. I have employees that update the Outlook 2010 contact information all day and then I never get the updates on my android phone when in the field. For me to do the CSV import thing every night is a real pain in the ass (my Outlook contact information changes daily btw).
I have a server that stays running all the time with Outlook 2010 installed... I do NOT use an Exchange server btw.. and I do NOT want to use exchange.. so that is out of the question. Basically I guess I am looking for some plugin or something into Outlook 2010 that can sync the 'CONTACTS' folder up with my specified G-mail account.. it would be great to also sync the outlook 'Calender' as well if possible.
and of course 2-way syncing would be ideal.. this way if I am in the field and I get a new contact.. I don't need to take the business card.. give it to my secretary.. who then puts into into Outlook... I would like to be able to the new or updated contact info right into my Android phone.. then it will sync up to Gmail... and then Gmail will sync it right back down into my Outlook system in the office... 2-way syncing automagically would be great!!!!
Thank you all very much for the tips!!! great forum!!!
I was just looking for something like this yesterday. I am in the process of testing Funambol right now. It seems to be just what I was looking for. I just hope it doesn't eat up battery.
let me know how you like it

you could use this
I previously used some Outlook connector but it was buggy and doesn't sync all info from. Same thing with CSV, not sure if all information is synced. If I recall correctly, there are some limitations on Google's side.
But if you have an Exchange account set-up on the phone, doesn't it intergrate all contacts? Why the need to have them in gmail if intergration takes place on your device?
I do NOT use exchange, and will NOT ever be using Exchange..

Sorry, Outlook for me is fully linked with Exchange... Assumption, the mother of all f#ckups
Right..
So but you must be using some kind of central email server that Outlook is connecting to when your secretarry is filing those businesscards.
MyPhoneExplorer?
CodeTwo Public Folders..
http://www.codetwo.com/public-folders/
it works like an exchange server sorta.. really cool program... takes all the hassle out of setting up and managing an exchange server..
Google Apps Sync for Outlook should work fine for you. I used that and the migration tool when we migrated the company to Google Apps. It should let you specify what you want synced as well.
We did not use Exchange either.

How do you synch Calender and Contacts on the Skyrocket to Outlook on your PC? Coming from WM and then the Inspire it was really easy, but now I have no clue. I searched and found Deja Office and Companion Link to synch to Outlook, but it's unreliable at best. Please help! Thanks! While we're at it, is there any way to synch web Bookmarks?
Very easy. Download newest version of kies from Samsung site. Google it.
I did that, but no calender synch on it. Is there a version I'm missing?
I have some pretty good luck with myphonexplorer. It synced up my outlook contacts pretty well, two-way and all and free.
However, it has to be manually done. So I gave up and jumped on the Google bandwagon and went with their cloud setup. So now, my contacts and calendar are synced up perfectly. I have a separate sync process for files, notes e.g with Sugarsync.

google has a app for that

Of course there is a calendar sync. What version of Kies did you download? You should be using Kies_2.1.0.11095_121_6.
I figured out how to synch calender in KIES. You have to click on the device after it's connected. Then the Synch menu will be available. Options for Synch are not visible unless your device is connected, and then only after you click on the device itself. The tree under the device includes contacts, but not calender. It wasn't obvious, at least to me, that I should click on the device itself. Weird. Having said that, it seems to work pretty darn well for contacts and calender!
Now that I have google calendar and contacts syncing with outlook via companion link - I saw an option on one of the accounts for syncing with hotmail. I haven't used hotmail for syncing with outlook calendars or contacts, only for email in the past.
Seems like android should be more friendly with the droid since it's a google product (long standing bugs unresolved, like DST problems with the free google cal sync), but wasn't sure if anyone here was using hotmail / live instead to sync calendars and contacts with outlook? I have 90 days to return the companion link software but thought I would check here before laying down the $50.
I think I'm confused on something...
I use both Gmail and hotmail's exchange settings on my mobile and calendars and contacts sync perfectly. The same should apply to outlook without a third party application, I think

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I don't have an exchange server, I am using pop mail and a local outlook pst database file for my calendar. Sounds like you are on exchange and that's a different animal... but I think the outlook connector might act as an exchange server for windows live/hotmail/outlook syncing.
Ah OK. Could you connect to hotmail's exchange server? m.Hotmail.com
Should be able to sync that way

Oh, now that's funny.... outlook connector does not sync outlook calendars to the windows live one, you have to open the windows live calendar in outlook to modify it. Yet the google program does sync the data within the native outlook calendar... go figure. I can't figure why they all messed with things like active sync that just directly synced your device to your outlook database on your local computer and thought it would be so splendidly awesome to go cloud. Yipee.
