Hi everyone,
My sensation won't charge via the USB or ac adapter. I owned a stock gingerbrefad sensation, but two weeks ago, it fell into water, so I ran out on Craigslist and bought another one. This one has the hd revolution ics rom on it. Is there a way to restore this back to stock gingerbread to see if this is a hardware of software issue? I am having to charge the battery in my old, water damaged sensation, and then stick it in the newer sensation until I get this fixed. Quite a pain, and the battery won't last all day.
Could be the charging port check out if it looks/seems fishy a bit maybe a crack or something otherwise for poor battery you can get 2 anker battery and a charging thingy for 30$ might want to check that out on ebay!

The port doesn't look cracked, and the USB sits in there just fine. The phone also shows that it is charging, but the battery percentage never increases. In fact it decreases. I also bought an anker battery and have the same issue.
Sounds liek you have a short on the motherboard. Send it off for a warranty repair, DON'T take it apart yourself

Hey guys, last night I put my phone on charge and left it that way overnight. I woke up late to school because my phone turned off on its own, charged partially to 45%, and no alarm/calls/texts (obviously). I tried to hard reboot with vol up+ power and no luck, then I had to pull the battery for it to turn back on.
I also was told by my friend they texted me and called me a few times and I did not get any missed texts or calls.
What may the issue be?
I am on Whitehawkx's MIUI port 1.9.9.
Another issue: I have a car charger ($2 off amazon) and it turns the charge on my phone for 20sec to 2min then turns off the charge.. Or when it says charging it actually takes away battery life...
Could these two problems be linked? For instance, the charger in my car messed up my battery and now my home charger does not charge it well and the phone dies because of it?
Happened to me also .exactly the same way .

What was your solution?
I bought a 3500mAh battery off eBay gonna see if that happens on just regular battery life or just with charger. Still waiting for it to arrive though.
I need a solution ASAP though.
All the cheap chargers take away battery and do not charge my phone.
After 3 cheap car chargers. I bought one at WAL-MART. Works great.

That's one solution. I just bought this from eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160645894679?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I got my for $10.

It did it again tonight. I had 82% When I put it on charge then after taking out the battery and rebooting it was 74%.

Try charging it via a USB port on a computer and see it it happens again..
If not...its an issue some of these have where the phone over heats. One solution may be to disable wifi and gps while charging from a wall charger, but even then it can still run hot.
Thanks for the idea, I will try it. Also, idk bout overheating but my battery smells like crap?!!??!

Hi i just fund this listing on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2430MAH-Hig...ps=63&clkid=4269676343718227981#ht_2729wt_851
i know that it is unlikly to get 2430 mah but will it be better than the stock battery?
The jesus battery
Take a search for ebay batteries and you'll find at best they are ok at best, at worst.....but who knows, buy em and if they are what they say they are then spread the word.
I'm gonna call bull to the "Gold Battery", seems a bit off if you ask me
Don't forget that we do have an inspire 4g accessories section where this type of stuff should be posted.

+1. There is no way the amount of space we have available for our batteries that you are going to get any more energy cells. Its all bull. The stock battery is the best you will get. If you suspect it is not performing its best, take it in to att and they will replace it if its gone bad prematurely.

It ships from asia. I dont buy anything that ships from asia cause you risk it being a fake. But here is a link on reviews of it from other users who purchased it.
http://www.htcdesirehdforum.com/htc...rnative-battery-2430mah-high-capacity-bas470/
The Anker 1600 mah battery is like $8? $9? On ebay. After batt calibration, this thing can go over 36 hrs running cm7. Mugen's are awesome too. Not all the batteries on there are bad, but as a general rule, stay away from anything shipping from Asia.
Still it is the wrong forum but as long as the topic is open....
+1 for the Anker 1600 batteries. Picked up 2 and a universal charger on ebay for about $15. Have only been using one of the batteries. But the difference is very noticeable over the HTC battery. Much better battery life. Installed Battery Monitor Widget to get some stats on the battery. Reported at 1480mAh. Don't know if the app is correct. HTC battery may have been starting to degrade already too which says alot of its quality. But the Anker battery so far for me has been out performing the HTC battery.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XUNRRQ/ref=oh_o06_s00_i00_details bought those and they are great i easily get 2 days out of one battery, 20$ you get 2 1600mAh and a standalone charger, i think its a great deal!

I'll have to look into this, however I'm worried about the battery door coming lose and causing the phone to shut off. Anyone have problems like that?

fake
Looks fake to me. I bought an extended battery a few months ago to replace my stock battery. It was actually worse than the stock battery. I would bet that this is a standard capacity battery with a gold packaging to make it look even better.
I bought a refurb'd inspire 4g. My battery was faulty, like my phone kept shutting down randomly.
Then I got a battery from aftermarket, all is well.
Mine lasts 2 days with juice defender, without it, it's like 6 hrs.
Radio makes a lot of difference to battery life. Don't see how you can put an extended battery in an inspire casing... just saying..

You can't, but I've tried saying this in this thread before and people just don't want to hear it. The amount of space available for the inspire battery can not pack anymore energy cells. It's physics. Unless they have some new crazy technology that no one has heard of.

i believe they rated them very loosely to try make them sound better...

I used to say the same thing over and over. But my white laptopmate batteries are still kicking butt. Battery monitor rates them on average of 1475mAh. If you want to call that extended, I wouldn't. No it doesn't rate them 1600 like the packaging says. Whether that value is correct or not doesn't really matter to me. They work well and I believe better than the original. Our oem battery is chinese made too by the way.
And maybe these third party manufacturers do rate them loosely. Or maybe the oem batteries are rated very conservatively. I never had a chance to see what battery monitor rated my oem. But these 2 batteries and universal charger were worth every penny of the $15 I spent.
I learn that if turn off the wifi when you not use, will let unit run longer

i think u should buy a orignal battery ,, instead of extended ones,, the kernel reads it like its still 1450 mah,, u need a special kernel for extended batteries to work properly, which we do not have!! and some extended batteries also lift up the screen from inside,

If battery that you want is not available in your ebay you can always buy it at foreign one and have it shipped to you. Still the costs can be ridicullus and shipping time irritating. Also what Razi said is true.
Battery
I've heard mugen makes a 1800 mah battery has anyone gotten one of these, if so does it fit well and does it last as long as it claims.
I bought a Polarcell 1600mAh battery on ebay and I would recommend it. Was about 12 Euros I think.
SCUD brand battery is quite good

Hello, my battery is charging incredible slow.
I have been using my first battery for about 1 year. Then i got spare battery as 'sorry' from Htc Repair Service, because they din't fix falling of display at first.
So i used my first battery for 1 year, then put it in shelf, charged to 2/3 of capacity.
Then i started using second battery - Genuine One from service.
It's 1 year from then. Battery is charging incredible slowly. I also tried changing charger for 2AMP (tablet, genuine nexus 7), but it didn't help at all.
What can be problem ? I also tried cleaning charging port, didn't help.
I put my phone on charger this morning with 15%. Now it's 4 hours later, and battery has only 80%.

i think u need to calibrat the battery. go on recovery wipe battery state, maybe this will delete the old wrong battery information for android.

You need to calibrate the battery...
Follow this, charge the phone till u r sure its fully charged(not what the battery shows), reboot to recovery, wipe battery stats...
After the restart, keep the phone on charging for half an hour to 45 min.
Hopefully this should help unless the battery itself has gone faulty.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710 using xda premium
'Calibrating the battery' is not actually a real thing.
It's a myth that has been thoroughly debunked. The battery stats only show what has used the battery, not how much of it should be left.
And nothing relating to battery stats would explain why the battery level is decreasing while it's plugged in. However 2 things will explain that.
1) You are using a charger that's less than 1 amp. The stock charger than came with the phone and most any other smartphone charger is a 1 Amp unit. If you are using a generic charger it might not have the power needed to charge the phone while you're using it. Same with charing via a USB connection on a computer. Or, you do have a stock 1 amp charger and it's just gone bad. Test this by trying another charger. However if the phone loses battery while plulgged in and not being used, then the charger probably isn't the problem.
2) Your battery is on it's last legs and needs to be replaced. They don't last forever. After a year, maybe two, they start to lose their ability to take and hold a charge. This is the more likely problem. The sollution is to just get a new battery. New stock batteries cost about $10 on Amazon. New Anker larger capacity battery will last longer and only cost about $18.
Hi guys,
In my phone my battery level keeps falling even when it I plugged to the charger...it goes up to a certain percentage and then starts falling off the cliff while still on charger...attaching a picture of the charge cycle...
I am on Albino JB 4.2.2 build 13th April. Have already tried three different batteries but same result...switched ROM and still the same...greenified most apps such as FB and maps...Even tried different chargers !!! This is really harassing me... Can someone guide me pls what to do next ???
Thanks

If not, buy an orginal no fake.
That's what helped with me
try a different battery.

Until that point it seems to be charging just fine. Will it charge the battery fully when the phone is off? Try completely discharging your battery then fully charging it while keeping your phone off.

Hi guys.
The problem continues !!!
Below are the things i have tried...
1.) Charging with original wall charger during phone on...Battery still declining during charging
2.) Completely wiped my phone and did not put any app still the same result
3.) Got a new Anker battery and still the same result (this is my fourth battery !!!)
4.) Tried different chargers and still the same result
5.) Switched off the phone and charged overnight and it took approx 8 Hrs to charge full but then the battery depleted quite quickly !!!
There is something wrong with the battery indicator it seems...Once the battery hits 0% while charging it rockets backs to 100% and then again starts to deplete.
Any more suggestions anyone ???
Maybe the charging electronic is just broken, if there is you have really tested new charger and new battery. Maybe controll your batterypins, maybe those are somehow broken (especially ground pin?)

I hope you also tried in different wall sockets lol
Otherwise I think the mechanism responsible is busted :S
Hi. I had the same problem. I solved it by getting a new cable for the charger. I.e. the charger was working well, but the cable was failing to deliver enough power. Hope this will work for you too.
