hi guys,
i found this :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2500mAh...537090?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a74d9d902
should i buy it? or 1900mAh ANKER battery?
it's not 2500 mah, I can tell you that for free.
If I have to choose between this two I would buy Anker because it has very good reviews so I would rather pay more for something tested and recommended.
by the way, what's the strongest battery that's available? 1900 mAh?
thanks for your help guys
This actually is a very good battery. Been using for almost a month. I got a full day of battery use without charging with the Viper Sense 4.0 Rom. I would recommend this battery, provided that you go through the standard charging cycles and calibration methods :beer:

After further testing on this battery, I got to say this was the best $9.99 I spent in a long time. Posted a screen shot below. Using Elegancia's latest Sense 4.0 Rom and Sebastian's kernel. I haven't undervolted yet.
Calibration Method: Go through standard wipe and install procedures for rom, once booted up, let rom sit for 10 mins then reboot. Let battery drain down to 10-15%, boot into recovery and wipe battery stats and reboot. Once booted up charge phone without break, wait till its 100%, then reboot while still charging phone. Once phone is fully booted and phone shows that its charged, unplug and there you go!:beer::beer:

You don't do anything wrong if you choose the Anker battery. It's worth the money I spent into.
I have had the Anker 2x lost one of the batteries and the other went unstable on me after a little over a year. Now, I went to go buy a new set and I ran into these batteries review looks good but is it false ad or legit if any one knows. Sorry to hijack thread but I dont wanna post a new thread. :fingers-crossed:

thanx for your comments, guys,
now i clearly see i need only Anker
Just wanted to throw my 2 cents into the mix...
I have my 1900 Anker about a year and 6 months now and its good for 2 days without charge. In my opinion if it blows up in the morning its the best $8 I spent and that was 18months ago. Theres too many of them out there and in daily use for them to be a bad battery!

I have had mine Anker 1900mh for more than a year now, no problems at all. Lasts longer than original HTC battery. Bought it for around £10 at that time. Worth every penny !!:good:

Hardly. Case is solid, there's no space for it.

doesnt look reliable.. but its mugen whi makes that battery. dont buy from tha website, go to the official mugen website.
are you having problems with the battery life for desire s?
experience says 3rd party batteries doesn't do justice... eventhough they have a higher rating, they perform more poorly than the orginal lower rated battery.
My battery seems pretty weak, one day of moderate usage, and it was gone, a little bit of everything, wi-fi (no more than 1 hour all day long), games, calls, camera, browsing through the menus, aprox 40-50% backlight only slightly above my average use...
how long should it keep the phone running for?
can't find reliable info on this, too few people have this device, I hope the comunity gets bigger

that's because it probably isn't as good as the original battery. it's from ebay and the fact that it's painted gold just makes it even more hard to believe.

Hello Guys,
I got this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/ANKER-1800m...495901?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4cfb97109d
According my usage :
Before I went back to work : 40 % max Battery remaining
Now : 70 % (easily)
Perfect fit in the original back case.
I have an intensive usage of my Galaxy S (3G all the time , phone call , internet surf )
I love this battery!
Battery Monitor says that is a 1500 mAh
Kr,
Jérémy.
hello jeremy
does that battery fit in with stock backcover or is it to big? seems like a good price.
edit: didnt see ur whole post i may order one thank you :=)
but i didnt get ur last part, do u mean that the battery is actually 1500 mah and not 1800?
Hello,
In battery monitor I see 1500. But much better than the original one (1 year old)
Jérémy.
You do know that Battery Monitor uses an user defined value and you have to set it yourself in the settings?
Settings->monitoring-> battery capacity
Or did you use it to get an estimated capacity (under calibration, "measured")
i bought one yesterday evening but it will take time until i recieve it but when i can tell how good it is.
actually i wanted a samsung 1800 mah battery but the ebay seller had none left..so i bought this one..half the price, 9$ + 5$ shipment ~11 €

i just had the 2nd load-cycle, and i can use my phone heavily a whole day with cyanogenmod 7(i think with stock roms the battery use is better)
I used my galaxy one over one hour for listening to music, ~1h display time, 3g always on, a few sms and after 12 hours i have 50% rest, compared to my old battery this is great ;-) for ~14 $ --> ~11 € with international shippment

So just recently, my phone's battery life has suffered a lot. Right now I'm at 73 percent after an hour and 24 minutes with just light web browsing on wifi. On every rom I've been on, its like this. So, I'm thinking I'll need a new battery?

Well ICS, and battery just don't go well together if you use your phone, with the phone on standby you can last for a long time but if you're using it... that just means terrible battery life is to be expected. Check that by battery then click on display and see screen in time.

Where exactly did you buy it at?
You could try wiping the battery stats in recovery when the battery is full, run it all the way down to zero and see if that helps, but mt3g is right.
Maybe I'm used to being in school where i would have 90 percent battery at 3:30 in the afternoon, so then i would have only half the day to use it. Maybe its not the battery, maybe its me being thrown off from being on summer break. But then again, a can sit here just letting my phone sit with the screen on and watch the battery just drain...

Letting your phone drain to 0%/dead is bad for lithium ion batteries and will actualy shorten their life span.
---------- Post added at 12:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:25 AM ----------
Just a quick tip: I noticed even with the new batter that after about 70% the battery started to drain a little a faster. The biggest culprit was "Cell Standby" which hovered around 50% I set my network preference to GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode), and this cut this battery drainer down by 50% or more.
Before switching your battery , try the BetterBatteryStats app, it helps you figure out whats eating your battery if its not actually bad. If this doesn't work, your last resort it to change your battery but i would suggest to try the app and read thru the thread for that app in the App section of this website. It will help you tons.

How well does it perform compared to the Anker one? The most I've gotten out of my Anker so far is three and a half day, but that is without using it a lot. I find that it mostly depends on the ROM you're using tho, and due to that I prefer the sensless ROMs, because they seem to run a lot lighter than their Sense counterparts. But hey, that's my observation.

Skipjacks said:
Okay I want to put this business about bad battery life and battery bugs and all that jazz to bed.
Look at my battery graph. I rest my case.
Any battery problems are not with the ROM. It's clearly capable of having disgustingly good battery life.
That's 4 DAYS since unplugging with 8% battery life left as of right now.
That includes 2 hours and 40 minutes of screen on time
45 minutes of phone talk time
This is on the April 26th build. And this is the FIRST charge since flashing that build. So the battery use probably isn't even maximized yet.
My settings are OnDemand 192 - 1242
Anker battery
Auto Brightness is off and I use the notification bar swipe to adjust brightness as needed
Alterations made to the Google Services Framework to eliminate Google Wakelocks (this has nothing to do with Albino's code, hence it's not the ROM) Click here for more details
Greenify to keep other wakelocky apps on a short leash. (I'm looking at you T Mobile's My Account app. You're so useful but you think you own the place!)
Haptic feedback is off for everything. The only thing that's allowed to use the vibration function is the ringer (I don't use a ringtone, vibrate only) and reminder notifications. If you have haptic feedback on for every press on the screen and keyboard you are basically giving up battery power to run a small electric motor. That's not an efficient use of limited battery life.
Full disclosure. I don't keep mobile data on all the time. I turn it on as needed. And I've been very busy doing other stuff the past 4 days so there hasn't been a ton of use time. Obviously if I had been using it more it wouldn't have lasted 4 days. But if the ROM can idle for 4 days and not drain itself dry, then battery problems aren't in the ROM. They are with apps, settings, or user error. Albino's ROM can be configured to run for what may as well be for freakin' ever on a single charge. I'm half expecting him to add "sustainable cold nuclear fusion" to the changelog of the next build.
So if you've got battery issues, go buy an Anker before you do anything else. Even if you have other problem that will make everything better. And stop talking about battery issues in this thread. Come to the FAQ thread (see link in my signature) and ask questions about how to improve battery life there. We'll take all battery questions there with a smile and be glad to help you, where in this thread battery questions will be met with verbal beratement for clogging up the thread with whining.

dont mess with these batterys

the anker and mugen 1950 are real 1950 mah and the max power u can get without extending the case(anker is cheaper thou so its more recommended)

The battery really is 1900 mAh, but you cannot use the sensation to measure its capacity - the battery driver is seriously flawed and will give you rubbish figures, no matter which 'app' you use.
If you want to test the capacity then you'll have to make a rig with a known resistive value and time a drop in voltage, you could then calculate the capacity of the battery - but its a lot of work...
Also, the quoted battery capacity is a theoretical value, you'll never get to use all of it due to the way Li-ion cells work.

Don't worry man. If you wanted to see it's capacity with some software it can't be done. I have noticed that Battery monitor widget recognises new batteries as 1580 mah, but it doesn't mean anything. Your batter's fine

There are probably two possibilities:
Use the stock battery, charge to 100% and notice how long it stays alive.
In Settings -> Power -> Accu Usage you´ll find a statistic about the powerdrain and the actual ontime.
After some charge cycles change to the anker and redo the steps. Then you will have an approximate result on how long your battery extend your batterylife.
The second approach is to touch the batterycontacts by your tounge. The harder the pain, the much higher it´s capacity
I´ve got the Anker for about 2 or 3 month and replace it sometimes with the stock. I´d say it stays alive for about 30% longer. (~2 Days 17 Hours)
My Problem is, i did the First method and the Anker isnt better.
My battery stays about 15 hours with Not more than 3 hours screen on. With both batterys.

Your problem is either your phone or the ROM, I get at least double that performance from the same anker battery.
The anker is only 20% greater capacity than the standard battery, that won't make much difference to your poor battery life. Do some searching to reduce your power consumption and getting your phone to sleep properly - if you are still on stock or ROM with wakelock issues then those are your most likely causes.

Me too! You sound exactly like me! I went through everything before I finally found this battery! I'm really happy now with the Mugen. It seems to be a true extended life battery. But you have to sacrifice the thin phone for it. It will make phone thicker but that didn't matter to much to me because of the excellent battery life. I guess it's a give and take. Battery life makes up for it for me but some people would never have it due to the thickness. It just depends on what you want. For me I was after battery life so I'm very happy. I got used to the thickness in about a week. If you don't mind the thickness give it a try! You won't be disappointed. The extra back they provide could be made better but the battery itself is really amazing! Your situation sounds exactly like mine so I think if you get the 3800mah you will be very pleased. As long as the thickness doesn't bother you. I do wish you the best and hope you get your battery issues solved soon! Good luck!
