Market Problem

I have been having this issue since oh I say about CM6 Nightlies 8/26-8/27 when the "Market Issue" crept up. And let me say I know that had nothing to do with this ROM per-say. I am using CM6 now on 9-1 nightly...Perhaps someone has\had the same problem.
No matter what I do using AppBrain or just the Market app I keep getting these dam force close on trying to download these 3 updates. 1. Handcent SMS and 2.Droid Battery and 3.Clockwork ROM manager. All of these apps I have removed and re-installed and then tried the market again...Still shows they all 3 need to be updated. Obviously when I am re-installing I am installing the last version I have prior to the updates that both sites say I need. Should I go into manage apps and wack all the updates for all 3 of these apps? Or is there a fix for the market itself? I have removed AppBrain and re-installed but that did not fix the issue either.
Now I have not been wiping anything on these nightlies I might add..And I have never had ANY issues other than the ones mentioned here. I have noticed the GPS issues as a lot of others have. But on 9/1 has ZERO GPS issues and locked in a matter of seconds. Also, I only can get ANY data via WiFi...<---A whole OTHER issue. But I know the fix for that. I just need to have my phone added with my Provider...Which is MetroPCS blah blah. I can get SMS and the Net of course now that there is a nice Proxy Setting which I hope that remains in the final build.
Anywho...Market issues anyone? Is there a way to wack the market.apk and re-install it? I have cleaned cache on just about everything I could think of..Re-set defaults etc on the 3 apps in question. Suggestions?

After further investigation ALL I need is Handcent SMS 3.2.9 I have the other versions I have NO idea why it keeps saying that I need to update the other two I have the latest of Gauge Battery Widget and ClockworkROM Manager. Hmmm interesting...

This is a recent and known google problem, not a rom problem. Google's servers have been overloaded, sot his is why the market is not preforming well.

i'm having a similar issue for quite a while now. probably over a month but i've just been dealing with it.
i think it started when i put cy mod 6 on my hero after a complete wipe.
i can not install any apps. from appbrain/market it will go through the dowload process and begin installation. but the installation is always unsuccessful. for almost every app. i've tried restoring from myback up, titanium back up, app saver. nothing works.
i was just about to completely wipe my phone & sd card but thought i'd take a look here first.
any help would be greatly appreciated. =)

Automatic Market Updates Fail?

Way too often, the automatic updates fail to update (often with not enough storage, or some similar message).
Then I have to go and search at the bottom of my apps and reinstall the failed installs.
Really annoying.
It happens on both of my Nexus Ss.
Anyone experiencing the same?

I get this too and sometimes I request to manually install an app... it starts downloading then just stops on it's own... but still showing thats it's downloading in the vending app. when I select the app... it gives me the option to install... I keep doing this in a loop until it finally downloads/installs

it's very very annoying
i have 2 apps and a game that i want to update, and it does exactly the same problem sinatosk is having

The one that has issues for me is twitter. I never use twitter so i don't care if it updates but it always tries and fails.

I've only had it happen once- the insufficient space one- when I was installing two things at the same time. Retried and went off with no problem. I've noticed update issues on other phone models, too; either insufficient space or just hanging forever at downloading.

I had this too. I cleared all the data for the download app and autox seems to have gotten better. I think this started happening after I moved some apps to SD card.

correct, it's not a phone specific problem, but a weird bug with Android Market
i have 3 different phones, and all of them have this insufficient space bug, whenever i try to update more than 1 app at a time
or some specific app or game just hangs forever at downloading
my theory for those, is that the Developer is still uploading the app, and stupid market makes it available even when the upload is incomplete
because those apps/games that i have trouble across all 3 phones have problem downloading, if i retry again after several hours, or days, then they download just fine and fast, instead of only 1% every few hours
if my theory is right, then Google should make the new versions NOT Available until the upload is completed by the Developer

I am wondering if it's actually an OS problem, because I noticed that I also get quite a few "download failed" when downloading icons with the stock browser.

Words with Friends force close issue

Anyone else dying to play Words with Friends on you new Inspire but keeps getting the force close everytime you run the app? I tried rebooting and reinstalling this app but to no avail.
Running on stock rom, waiting for my extra microsd card to arrive so I can root and install custom roms.

Same issue here on custom ROM, been happening for a day or so since Words with Friends updated. Extra frustrating is the fact that the app resets itself after FC, forcing me to re-enter account info.

Good to know I'm not the only one. I hope we get an update to fix this issue soon...

Working fine here. I had issues when I did the update without un-installing it first but after I did that everything is good. I'm running CM7 if that matters.

I gave up on words with friends and went back to wordfeud. Hopefully the devs of words with friends will get it straightened out soon.

Aha! I actually tried installing the app again today and it now works. They must have fixed the issue and I'm glad they did.

Words with Friends worked for me on stock ROM since day 1. The first day I rooted and flashed Anrdoid Revolution, I installed Words with Friends and it worked fine. I've seen 1 FC from the app since I've had the phone, but all I had to do was restart the app and it loaded right back to my games

It worked for me for a little while but now it pops up with some wierd web address

Have you tried rebooting and/or installing the app?

If you are using Android Revolution(or some other custom ROMs), the hosts file blocks the ads in the app. Either revert to a non-adblocking hosts file or a different ROM.

they just had an update, uninstall words and redownload. i havnt had a fc since then. good luck

even on the latest version, I can't even play! Just force closes when I log in!

Judging by the stack trace I think something in the logon was breaking it. I saw in the stack trace that the app was trying to parse a null value as an integer, which isn't so cool.
I just set up for a packet capture -- but I'm now able to log in again and the game is working fine. Hopefully they don't break their login protocol again, and ideally they make the app a little more robust if the server sends back unexpected data.

I was also getting tons of FC's on custom roms until i ran a fix permissions in CMR. Now it works perfectly

So what do you guys suggest for those who are using unrooted, stock ROMs? Any suggestions?

I go into the apps settings and clear the cache and force close it.. this usually makes it reload the game data which takes a few min, but it works again for me for a while. I do need to tweak the hosts file blocking ads. It causes huge broken ads that make the game unplayable at times.

Yeah when wwf starts acting up again and comes up with a force close (or any bug at all!) all the time, clear your cache and data and try again. Reboot in between if you have to. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling again. Sometimes you just need to reboot to fix the issue is what I found out based on my phone. Hope this helps!

[Q] App downloads stalling after Root

I rooted my phone tonight, everything went great.
When I restarted my phone and signed in with my account, all of the apps I had on the phone before the root immediately started downloading. For whatever reason, they have all stalled and the market won't work.
I've cleared the cache & data, done a force stop on the market, restarted, taken the battery out and restarted, still, the apps are stuck. Is there a fix for this? Am I the only one who has experienced this?

Did you install any rom after rooting?

I've had this problem as well, and so do many other people. There is what seems to be anecdotal fixes for it. My personal fix that I've become reliant on is leaving the Market open while the download(s) completes, and this seems to work most of the time. I've researched the issue quite a bit and unfortunately it seems to have been relegated to a "oh well, we're rooted and have installed a custom rom, I guess this is an unfortunate consequence that can't be fixed". From cm7 to aosp to the sense based roms, the problem seems to occur on all of them.

If you open up Titanium Backup and run "Market Doctor" it should fix the problem. You may need to restart the phone afterwards, but I can't remember if I usually do or not, lol.

Missing data after reboot? Help!

Hi guys, i was playing a game called F18 Carrier Landing, when my phone froze. I long held the power button so that it could reboot. After it rebooted, i unlocked it, and it gave me the interface as if i freshly flashed a new rom or i did a factory reset (the interface asking about google and setting up accounts). So, i completed that and once my home screen popped up, i faced a few force closes, from titanium backup, my anti-virus software Avast, and various other applications. I was very freaked out at this point. I remember reading something about fixing permissions if i faced constant force closes, so i rebooted to recovery and fixed permissions. Booted up fine, still missing data, but no force closes. But my google maps does not seem to work, i open it and it opens to the orange-ish checkerboard backing, but then force closes. I'm not exactly sure what to do at this point. Can anyone advise me on what to do or if this ever happened to them? For reference, i'm still on Froyo (don't ask why) 2.2.1, ROM's Audiophile Redux by Raver. If you require additional info to help me find a solution, i will gladly comply. Thanks!
EDIT1: I uninstalled my Maps with Titanium and restored a really old version from September of last year, and it seems to be working. Or atleast it opens and loads.
EDIT2: It seems to only load apps stored on my internal/phone storage. As i checked Applications in settings, the SD tab was empty as if there are not apps from the SD card installed, what can i do about this?

This has happened to many of us on GB. Crazy it happened on Froyo. You are going to need to reinstall your missing apps. If it is similar to what happened to us your phone factory reset on it's own.

Alright thanks, when it happened i thought it was a pretty serious problem, but as i restore my apps from Titanium, i realize it's not that bad. Just glad to know i wasn't alone on this ordeal. I plan on hopping onto AOKP or maybe MIUI when my contract ends, this phone is just to valuable to me at the moment. They both seem so fast and amazing, plus AOKP has themes. K, so quick question, do you know the reason behind this, i mean, is my SD corrupted or something? I can still play the music and the videos from it on my phone, but i don't understand why it wouldn't read the apps on the SD.

None of us have nailed down the cause unfortunately.

Thanks anyways, up and running with most of my apps back. Gotta get around to flashing a new ROM someday. So many good one's coming out!
