Galaxy Nexus 2? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone have any idea if the Galaxy Nexus 2 will be coming out? I would really hate to purchase a regular Galaxy Nexus and have the 2 come out right after

i reckon Google might release one somewhere at the and of this year.
New iPhone is coming out, they already mentioned about five companies working on new Nexus+ Gnex ain't no top dog anymore.
I would be happy if next Nexus will have GS3 specs (2G ram).

Probably, but nobody knows for sure. The one thing that's almost certain is that it won't be called galaxy nexus 2 (no nexus device has ever been 2, they just give it a different name that includes nexus).

So as of right now, it goes in this order? Nexus S, Nexus S 4G, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note?

Galaxy note isn't a nexus device. It goes G1 (not a nexus but the first GED), Nexus 1, Nexus S/4g, Xoom, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7.

I don't think the Xoom was a Nexus Device, since it was not sold by Google. So it's the Nexus One, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7.

Xoom ( us wifi) ain't a nexus but its a GED. Its more or less a nexus without the nexus branding.
Doesn't have to be sold by Google. The nexus s was not sold by Google. Nor was the galaxy nexus for the first couple months it was out. The Verizon gnex is not sold by Google either. They only recently got into selling devices directly again.
There are versions of the gnex that ship with unsupported by Google builds as well. The device itself is still a gnex but......

[Q] Should I get the SGS2?

I'm not sure if this is the right section, but it seemed like it.
Anyway, I have an HTC Inspire and I've been thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy S 2, but I'm not sure if I should get it, or if I should wait until I can get an LTE phone. What do you think?

You could get the Galaxy Note instead
You could also wait for the Nexus Prime
Forever living in my Galaxy Ace using XDA App
There's no doubt the Galaxy SII is an awesome phone.. And while my vote would be to pick one up, the Nexus Prime is around the corner like EmoBoiix3 mentioned.
Then again if you keep waiting for the next phone to be released you'll be waiting forever.
Is the Galaxy Note a phone or tablet?? It said it was like 5.3 inches or something like that...
And will the Nexus Prime or the Galaxy Note be on AT&T?

The Galaxy Note is a big phone .
I'm not sure about the American operators though .

I read somewhere that it would be coming to America on AT&T 3G/4G bands...How far away is the Note and the Nexus Prime? Also, do you think 450 shipped is a good price for the GS2? I'm not sure if it is, because if I wait a little while, the price will probably go down a good amount.

Samsung Nexus S @ €280: worth it today?

Today I saw in a local store (in Italy) that tomorrow they'll have a sale on Google/Samsung Nexus S, at €280 (unlocked), it is worth the price or it's already an old device?
Currently I have an HTC HD2 with Android NAND rom, which is working fine for me...
why not get the new Galaxy Nexus instead of the old Nexus S ?

I'm not mcbyte_it, but my guess would be because the Galaxy Nexus will be twice the price?
@mcbyte_it: I'd say go for it. If you're on a limited budget, the Nexus S is a great choice. I wanted one when I was buying a phone about six months ago, but back then it was out of my price range.

Gusar321 answered it: newest euper-hitech phones are always above €500 (iphone 4 unlocked €550, Galaxy S II €599, HTC Evo 3D €599), I got my HD2 used for €350

I'll read reviews about it, as I like the possibility to change firmwares and do more than what it offers by default.....
Yes, I would go for it. ICS is guaranteed for Nexus S.

One new nexus phone announced, buy the Galaxy Nexus?

The LG Nexus 4 announcement leaked from Google Playground Oct. 29th is the only nexus phone we've heard about. Are there going to be more nexus phones based on the rumor of 5 new devices on Android's 5th birthday. I know we've heard a rumor of a new 10 inch Samsung Nexus tablet, but there aren't any other confirmed rumors for phones. Should I wait till the event, or buy the Galaxy Nexus? Do you think there will be a price drop after the event for the original Galaxy Nexus? I own the HTC One X, but after using pure AOSP and angry about HTC's decision to not unlock the bootloader, the Nexus is the best option.
Please see the sticky at the top of this section for all phone decision questions, thanks. Thread closed.

[Q] Keep Nexus, upgrade to Nexus 4 or other?

Merry Christmas all!
I currently have the Nexus which I am more then happy with. My contract runs out beginning of January and I don't know what to do...
Keep my nexus and get the phone upgrade and sell it on ebay etc..
Upgrade to the Nexus 4 and sell my nexus.
Upgrade to Galaxy III and sell Nexus.
Any ideas what I should do? I love my Nexus for the pure Google experience, I don't like my partners Galaxy III as it is bloated with loads of Samsung rubbish.
I think it's between keeping my Nexus and getting the Nexus 4. Or try make as much money as I can by getting an upgrade to sell on.

Should upgrade to the GS3 its way better than the nexus 4 cause of expandable storage plus it is more durable than the nexus 4 as well.
Think I will get the Galaxy 3 and have a play with it using a custom rom.
Then sell my least favorite phone.

Buy a nexus 4 from google and avoid contracts in general. Switch whenever you want.

I second this. And whoever says a GS3 is a superior device to the N4, hasn't enjoyed using an N4. I have a 16GB, and I've barely used 4 GB. If storage is an issue for you, then by all means get a GS3. If not, you won't regret the N4. It is without a doubt, the best device I have ever used...and I've used quite a few, including the GS3.

Personally, I require a lot of space and can't see myself being limited to 16gb of local space.. its just too little
I would say think between Galaxy S III (or wait for next one), or the Nexus 4. It depends on your needs in a phone. Hell even the Note II is great as well, but it all depends on your uses.
I'm keeping my GNex until I see what the Nexus 5 is going to look like. The Nexus 4 just wasn't a compelling enough upgrade.

You need the SG3
Nexus 4 rocks... You won't look back!
Like others have said, if you don't use much storage space, get the Nexus 4. I don't use much storage either, so the Nexus 4 is perfect for me.

[Discussion][Poll] Which OEM(s) will make the next Nexus device(s)?

Yup, it's that time again, fellow XDA members.
Just couple of days ago, Google has officially announced a new Nexus 7 tablet, which, just like the original N7, will be manufactured by Asus.
But we still have a bit more than 5 months 'till the end of 2013, and Google can arrange a new press event at any time during August-December time frame.
And, as one would expect, the main topic of that event could pretty much be the next Nexus phone, and maybe even a new Nexus 10" tablet.
So far, we had the following Nexus devices:
- Nexus One by HTC
- Nexus S by Samsung
- Galaxy Nexus by Samsung
- Nexus 7 by Asus
- Nexus 4 by LG
- Nexus 10 by Samsung
- (coming) Nexus 7 2nd gen by Asus
So, as we can see, Samsung has made 3 Nexus devices over the past 4 years since the Nexus series came to life, with Asus being the 2nd with 2 generations of Nexus 7 tablets, and Sony has never made a single Nexus device.
In my opinion, the next Nexus phone (a.k.a. Nexus 5) will be made either by Samsung or Sony.
Mostly because Samsung has already started making 5"+ devices with Full HD displays, and Sony hasn't even had a chance to make a Nexus device yet
On behalf of Nexus tablet - it might be Sony as well (and maybe use Xperia Tablet Z as a base for it) or we could see Acer entering the Nexus program for the first time also
But these are just my personal thoughts
What do you guys think?
I'm thinking Samsung will be taking this one..
Probably Lg. N4 is a perfect device

I think it's gonna be LG. But, if that was true, I wouldn't buy it.
One has to wonder why Google bought Motorola Mobility first place. I thought the whole point was to start having hardware control including stock android.
P.S. A little reminder - don't mark "Phone (Nexus 5)" and "Tablet (Nexus 11)" poll options
A Sony nexus would be cool, but I think Samsung will CME out with the next nexus phone.
