I successfully updated my US version 6210 to the UK ICS firmware but am having one problem. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the problem and if there's a solution.
Under Settings > Security > Find my mobile when I check the box to enable Remote controls, it brings up a prompt saying in progress twice and then unchecks the box. If I go to SamsungDive I am unable to locate my device. Any ideas? Thanks.
Had the opposite problem... On hc it was not working... After ics update it finally fixed by itself... Try a wipe data ;-)
Well I flashed ICS again (but didn't do a full wipe) and was still having the issue. However then I tried removing the Samsung account and re adding it, and that solved the problem.

I have a problem with my desire HD, it won't let me search for wireless networks. I tried everything, so now i am turning to you guys! Hope you can help me!
Here is my problem:
When i turn on my wifi i get a message "Unable to search for networks".
Here is what i have tried:
- I tried searching your site for information, and what i found is a thread saying to rename a file. But since i am running stock and do not want to root my phone (company phone), this is not possible for me.
- I have tried restoring factory defaults, without any luck
- I have written HTC support but have not heard from them
What i want to do:
I want a way to format my phone and reinstall the stock version of android on the phone. Just like you do with windows. Is this even possible? I can't seem to find anywhere, where it says its possible via USB cable to reinstall the firmware from HTC?
Do any of you have an idea of how to solve my problem?
After installing ICS last week i am now seeing another update entitled "settings Update" which is about 15mb in size. Anyone know what it is/does. Also it downloads ok but fails to install. Anyone managed to install ok? Thanks in advance.
It doesn't install on my sim free Sensation XE either (still waiting for ICS!).
Posted about it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24674922&postcount=306
I've just received OTA update named as Settings application update.. (problem I have different language and translation was wrong). I have had 1st wave OTA 4.0.3 update installed on stock Sensation. Did not find out what has changed and unfortunatelly did not have filename because it was installed just after update without reboot request. I see version 4.0.3/Sense 3.6/3.32.401.5 CL309896 ...
Somebody with the same update ?

Settings application:
current version (after the update) is: 4.0.2213332163.350357
In about Settings application there is: 1.00.0048.309896 (original build version)
ya, i got the setting update too, but no idea what has changed...
I successfully installed the 'settings' update, so far all I can see is a not very good attempt at spelling fixes!
Stock xe UK on ics!

At least it now reads "Airplane mode"
MrSums
My Exchange account settings are now persistant accross reboots.. But I did not checked it before - just test now and it seems to be ok .. Facebook sync looks better now also.. But I still don't see some security settings (still did not make hardreset).
This is the reason for the update:
HTC has developed a fix for a WiFi issue affecting some HTC devices. Most products have received this fix already through regular updates. However, some will need to have the fix manually loaded.
Devices listed below have already received a fix through our regular update process. If your product is not listed, please enter your serial number below to check if your device needs an update.

Applied this update on 4.0.3 and I can see the device administrator settings now which weren't there before in my case. I had to get them by bootloader factory reset.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
Now when i search for this update it is not found. Instead it came up with applicaion update and downloaded it and installed fine. Not sure what this has done or what has happened to the settigs update. when i search for software updates now it says none found and up to date.
New to this site but have done days of searches for my problem. Since JB update my bluetooth is not working and I have also found out Airplane mode is messed up also. Both will have slight responses for a short time after booting , then nothing. I down graded back to ICS and I get some functionality and have actually paired a device but does not work correctly. Asus wants the tablet sent back , but it sure seems to me as it is Op system causing all of this. It was working fine before. I am new to messing around with android , So one question is since I down graded to ICS 4.0 does the actual device firmware downgrade completely also ? I see that Bluetooth Version lowered and other versions lowered , but could something else not get back to that version , some type of Bios type settings? ( I was told no Bios in android ,but is there something like it ? )
So does anyone have the same problems , any answers or thoughts ?
Is there a way to erase everything completely and go back to the exact files software , kernals etc. as when in the box it came in.
Sure seems to act like a software driver type problems.
What are the "Source Code" that are offered on the Asus Site ? Can those used to be used to Factory fresh the device ?
I do not want to void any warrenty , but before I send back I want to see if it is Hardware or software.
Thanks

Source code is only useful for software developers. To restore your device as close to factory state as possible, install the full firmware package of your desired version, as you already did when downgrading, and wipe data.
Things not restored by this method:
- device-dependent settings (e.g. serial number, sensor calibration data)
- DRM key
- Partition table
These usually cannot be changed by the user and therefore do not need to be restored anyway.
My main concern is the kernal, I feel that this may be the cause of my problems , if indeed the hardware does not have a problem. So when I restored to ICS , Did the kernal complete revert to factory also ? I understand now that the Kernal is the ( Bios) of Android , takes comands from software and tells hardware what to do . ( Right ? )
I am finding that the "Factory Reset " from from "Setting" does not truely reset all settings ( I set a Sound Setting before Reset , and the same setting was "on" after the reset ), therefore a "Firmware" reset back to ICS may leave the reason my bluetooth and airplane is not working.
So is there a way to use the "blob" with-out rooting or causing a warrenty issue ?
The kernel is part of the full firmware, so it is flashed when you install the firmware. It is the core of the operating system and also contains all the hardware drivers. The PC BIOS would be more comparable to the tablet's bootloader, as it only initializes the hardware and loads the kernel.
Your problem description is completely worthless. If you expect help, state exactly what you did, which error messages appear, and describe in detail what does not work and what you expected.
I thought i expalined better. I will try again. I used my bluetooth on my tablet connected to my phone and sent photos to tablet from phone. All was fine, Did not try and use bluetooth again untill a week later ( 3 days after OTA JB update ) now the bluetooth does not work and I see that Airplane mode is not working correctly either.
Since this happened right after the JB Update , It made since to me it is an update problem. I was wanting to go back to the exact state before update to see if errors were gone. I have re installed ICS and had better response from bluetooth , was able to pair a device but after pairing would not work ( headphones , sound stayed on tablet ) .
With these findings it would lead me to beleave two things , the "Firware install of ICS " left traces of the newer Kernal , that caused the problem or the Tablet hardware is the problem.
does that make more since to you ? Sorry about the first Question. I have let the tablet do the OTA back to JB and still in the same situation. I have an RMA set up , but I just like to know for sure the cause before sending back.
Thanks for you time.

I'm giving up.
Ok, Well thanks for trying ? I do not have any other info. to tell you then my last reply , that is all that I can explain , What is wrong what I did and what I was trying to figure out by process of elimination.
Hi all,
I recently updated to 5.0.1 using the RUU, ever since I do not get push notifications. I am hoping it is something simple and not related to the 5.0.1 firmware.
I tried turning off the sleep mode to see if that fixed the problem, but it doesn't seem like that is the issue because I still don't get push notifications. I also checked all my in-app notification settings and they seem fine.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
It is most likely a ROM issue, firmware shouldn't effect is. Maybe make a backup of your current ROM and do a factory reset to see if that fixes the problem
So my nexus 5's camera stopped working with the error "cannot connect to camera" It's stock unlocked running android 5.0. I tried rolling back to 5.0 from 5.0.1 to try and solve this problem and it didn't work. I've tried other apps and nothing can seem to connect to the camera. The phone was not dropped recently so I can't imagine what it could be. Any thoughts?
Much appreciated!
Did u tried resetting via factory image?

But beware of the script's settings. Internal memory gets deleted too if you don't edit the batchfile and remove -w
Code:
fastboot [COLOR="Red"]-w[/COLOR] update image-hammerhead-lmy47i.zip
If that doesn't help, its a hardware fault.
Don't know if this has been solved or not, but just recently bought a brand new N5 for the wife, unlocked it, and put a MM custom rom on it. Everything works great except for the camera giving this "can't connect" error. A reboot will temporarily fix it, but I was searching this forum to see if anyone had ever found a permanent fix. Most of the searches have mentioned unchecking Trusted Face, but the rom I'm running doesn't seem to have that. Not sure what else to try at this point. Has anyone else found a better solution yet?
