Sense multitasking - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Like other people, I was disappointed when I started using my HOX and the multitasking was very poor. Also, the development community is working to get S-OFF. So my question is, when we eventually get S-OFF through some hack or through kernel source from HTCDev, would we be able to fix the multitasking in sense 4 based roms? Is it kernel related? Or is it deeper then that?
Thankyou!
-Corey

By poor do you mean it is aggressive in how it manages memory. If so, CleanRom with multitasking Mod 2 will help.

Yeah that is what I meant, its so aggressive for every app. Thank-you I will try the mod. Is it in his clean mod add on? And someone from ky! Even better

Multitasking mod 2 works well for me! You can try it out on virtually any Rom I'm sure.
I'm using it on Nocturnal's Senseless ROM. =)

I didn't notice much of a difference with multitasking mod 2 on cleanrom.

Caulkin has a beta rom with multitasking fixed. pretty sure it wont be long until all the roms use this... thats if he releases his mod. Give it a few more days

It might be because I'm a newb, or my kernal is incompatable, but every rom I've tried has bugged out. The worst was ICS, where my home button had no functionality whatsoever. So currently I'm just running Faux's kernal and that's it. Solid, not buggy, no problems so far...

UHF sky ics isn't working right for you, then you are doing something wrong. I compare my phone to my brothers unrooted skyrocket. Mine is faster with the same battery life. Sometimes better battery life depending on the update.

Question about UCLD2 Leak

Hi guys, I was wondering is flashing to the UCLD2 ICS Leak really worth it if I have the ICS leak 1... and are there any good walkthroughs, or is it just like flashing the first one as in, is there a one click method! Anyone using it and can see a visible difference!
Thanks
One click method available on rootzwiki, but I recommend u flash alien or nexus mod ics zero through cwm instead.
A lot of performance improvements, and GUI is a lot smoother
Definite improvement.
I definitely see an improvement in stability and smoothness
Personally, and I am no one, I am waiting. I am on Superlite, and if mhx feels no need to dabble, then I see no need to flash.

i prefer stock roms and customizing myself. that being said, ucld is more stable than ucla with less crashes and no echo. i do believe i may be the cause of my own crashes, aside from the non ics apps.

Well, first of all....YOU! Welcome Back, my friend! I sure do hope that hand has healed up nicely with no future problems for you.
So, what do we want for Christmas, eh? I'm probably an easy one but I'm going to say it anyway. I would LOVE to see you resurrect Wildchild ICE into AOKP Wildchild Ice Cream & Jelly Sandwich with possibly another seldom seen launcher installed like perhaps the one for the LG. I HAVE seen that one and it's VERY nice, IMHO.
Oh yeah, and WELCOME BACK!!!:good:
How about cm 10.1?

Ideally, a wildchild ice that has great battery like the previous ones, but with cm 10.1 and the latest AOKP. And of course it should work well with scverhagens kernels.
Glad to see you're back!

We-we-we-welcome breaker. I mean... Welcome back!
Any ROM which has awesome battery life and smooth performance is fine by me. Thank you.
I know I'll get flamed for this but the latest Sense that works with JB...
I have been enjoying Virtuous on ICS lately and it's time for a change.
Sent from my myTouch 4G Slide using xda premium
I wouldn't mind a JB Sense rom, but we'd need a kernel just as good as our AOSP one to match
Maybe you could revive your CM/AOKP hybrid, it was one of my favorite ICS roms
I'd love to see a JB version of WiFi calling.
Oh, a Sense4+ JB ROM would be the *&*^! :fingers-crossed:
Maybe I'm the oddball, but I'd like to see an extremely stable AOSP ROM for Gingerbread. Since the source code has been released, I think that would be a relatively easy ROM to make. I'm still seeing some issues with the ICS and JB ROMs I'm running. I have a tendency of running an ICS/JB ROM for a while, then switching back to GB because of it's stability.
I wanna see Paranoid Android 3+ compiled for our device.
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using Tapatalk 2
maybe I'll go for paranoid first because that will be the easiest (not necessarily easy, but easiest lol). Then I'll re-tackle WildJelly that was never released from it not being done. WildJelly is basically a Jellybean version of WildchildIcE :fingers-crossed:

Just curious, why do you want a 3.4 kernel in particular?
I just love the sense based Roms specially because of the amazing camera app, it takes wonderful shots; but I didn't find a stable one with satisfactory battery life time uptill now!
I changed the stock gingerbread rom just because it didn't support Arabic I tried all the patches but they never worked.
Anyway, my dream rom for that phone would be a stable sense based JB or Kitkat rom that don't drain the battery in 3 hours ; )

Fastest most stable rom for the One S right now?

There are so many damn roms and I dont want to spend days testing them all. What is one of the better roms? Right now Im running Jellybam and dont really have many issues at all. What prompted me to come look is that I started up my old Samsung Vibrant and was disappointed at how fast it felt compared to my HTC One S - faster!
So... what do you guys recommend?
I'm using ViperOneS 2.00 and it's perfect to use as a daily driver. You get sense and a lot of tweaks plus new update is in the works
Well i'm using pac man rom latest version and flashed bubbas kernel 2.7 over it and it runs pretty fast. You also get a bunch of tweaks that you can change with the app kernel tuner

Viper 1.2.1 with zarboz kernel is also damn good.
The custom JB Sense roms are too limited for my taste atm.

Lightest Rom?

Hi.
My Nexus S is kinda slow now and it cam be embarrassing sometimes.
I only use my phone for Google music, Tunein radio, podcasts, email and basic internet.
I was looking the other day to see what was eating my memory up and I noticed things that I don't use any more like twitter apps and stuff that I will never use like Google play books and play movies.
I am rooted and using a tweaked kernel, but I'm still using stock ROM. I think this weekend that will change.
I'm not interested in overclocking, just a little bit more quickness and stability.
Can anyone recommend a good kernel and ROM combo.
Kernel must have voodoo sound.
Cheers.

If you want blazing fast rom try Metal Dragon Overlord, only drawback it's 4.1.2, if you want 4.2.2. rom try Hellybean or CM10.1 nightlies.
Pretty much every kernel's got voodoo sound so that's nothing to worry about.
Rom&kernel combo? - Metal Dragon Overlord, matr1x kernel.
Hi,
Initially I was looking forward to a 4.2.2. ROM but I have read comments about lag after a week or so of using those ROM's. So I may just stick with a 4.1.2. ROM.
Looking for something that I can flash and forgot, something very mature that I can keep on my phone for the next year without thinking about it or getting reboots. Don't want to be flashing a new version every day.
Cheers.

I already have Thalamus kernel running with my stock ROM. Tbh it isn't blazing fast, but I have never had any reboots at all, unlike my brief flirtation with Marmite many months ago.

This is the closest, or one of the closest, to a stock 4.2.2 ROM you can get and it's light, no bloatware. Also if you're using a 4.2.2 ROM, you these mods as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158329
It really increases your performance and doesn't affect battery.
