Developer information
You can look at my source or even clone it to make android 4.1 compile.
My device tree is updated for JellyBean and I will push every fix once I got one.
The included kernelblob is the latest harmony kernel version for JellyBean and can be flashed easily.
Just ignore the boot.img android does output you after building, and flash my kernelblob on top.
It contains both, a fully working, stable, overclockable, etc kernel & a working ramdisk.
So if you don't want to mess with that, use my work, but give credits.
If anyone is interested in helping, or getting involved, please contact me.

What drivers are u referring to? I'm still convinced the phone issue is related to framework changes and permissions.
Are you giving up on MIUI? This looks awesome! Will it have customizeable folder labels?
Holy crap we have a rom thread now!!!!! Yay!!!!
Cool I hope this get fixed. Im sure it will soon enough now thatbits finally gaining some speed.

- Kernel not using the default stock cmdline, so make changes accordingly.
- Now its USB tethering thats currently not working.
Do thank, if you will.
- A reminder that /cust is now irrelevant.
- Credits to stevenmirabito helping spot a number of issues.
- If your system decides to crash, fails to boot, or becomes non responsive, then you must be doing something wrong.
- The market is unlocked, but will not show apps that the phone cannot support, like Google Goggles, Wife Trader or something of the sort.
- Report all issues @ github.
- Default music app's now-playing layout looks best on fullscreen (change via settings).
- Keep away from Dev Tools and feel free to explore new themes and endless possibilities because your device is now awesome!

notes
There is a chance the Alpha One build may behave differently/strange when it comes to different networks since its missing some settings.
The Alpha One build lacks the /cust partition (it's disabled) completely.
Click to collapse
Does this mean that the /cust partition will be removed, or does this mean that it's just not used by the ROM? Hopefully it's option #2, simply because it's a pain in the neck to restore (you need to restore the entire phone with UPDATE.APP from Huawei - I speak from experience ).

2 things here:
Is it possible to make the vibrate icon white to contrast with the black notification bar? It's not completely necessary, but it would be nice aesthetics.
I noticed that you are using the default Android keyboard. If you would like, I can send you a working version of the HTC IME keyboard or QVGA Swype (the version of Swype that was factory-installed) to include.
Again, thanks for all your hard work on this, I can't wait for Alpha One!
..........
marcNvidic said:
Cheers to that.
About the /cust partition, yea it is a pain in the neck to restore. Its disabled just until enough info (and feedback) on its purpose in the ROM is gathered. So until then who knows...
About the themeing, CyanogenMod has a set of User Interface settings that you can set and change; for example the status bar color, or the date/time text color on the fly. So your good to go there
Click to collapse
The /cust partition is a special carrier-locked portion of the OS that holds protected apps (it has higher protection than apps in the /system/apps/ directory) and the carrier's customizations (boot animation, wallpapers, ringtones, etc.). Some ROMs actually use that partition to hold the Android Framework files, but it's main usefulness is that it usually sticks around between ROM flashings, so for instance your boot animation and any apps, wallpapers, and ringtones you put in there will magically re-appear. Hope that clears that up!
So that means you can set that icon to white? That's what I'm concerned about, I would like to keep the black notifications bar.
WOOHOO.. waiting for this eagerly.
I have ultrajack recovery 6.2.2. Will it work with this or do I exculsively need AmonRA or ClockWorkMod?
Sounding awesome! I've got one of these and it's fantastic for the price I paid. For testing GPS, I find the GPS in the phone isn't brilliant but I can get it to find a lock after a while. Recommend using GPS Status to see if it picks up any satellites.

FANTASTIC Good job
So many dev's for our phone but still no forum lol... I even put out a bounty for the compiled 3D drivers as I really couldn't be arsed to figure out how to do it myself. But it shouldn't be that hard to do if no one does it.
.lol cant wait!!!!

I'm sure that the performance and features of CyanogenMod will come along for the ride - it is built from the Cyanogen sources, after all.
As for overclocking, the stock kernal will already overclock to 600MHz with SetCPU. I'm not sure that a custom kernal, if one were developed, would be able to overclock it any more without setting it on fire.
Disclaimer: I am in no way associated with this project, I am just speaking from what I personally know. I'm still waiting just like the rest of you!

There is an OC kernel in the works, also.... I am trying to get 3D to work but it is frustrating as all hell. There isn't any good info as to what cpu is inside of this thing. Some places say msm 7201a others say 7225...

Using Scriptybox
Scriptybox is a BASH script that consists of a collection of commands. There are several ways to use scriptybox, those of which I will outline below.
Viewing Available Commands
To see a list of commands available to your current install of scriptybox, simply open up terminal emulator, and type:su click enter and then type scriptybox
This will output a list of commands as well as a short usage statement for each, as such:
Available commands:
Code:
adblock [on|off]
camsounds [on|off]
cpuinfo
dalvikjit [on|off]
freemem [50mb|75mb|100mb|default]
halt
meminfo
mtdinfo
[COLOR="Red"]rmapk [alarm|browser|calc|carhome|corpcal|
deskclock|devtools|email|genie|im|lwps|
mms|mp3|music|qoffice|spare][/COLOR]DO NOT USE THIS COMMANDWIP
swapinfo
[COLOR="Red"]switchapk [clock|music][/COLOR]DO NOT USE THIS COMMAND WIP
sysro
sysrw
zipalign_apks
Now you know exactly what commands you can run, great!
Running Command
Below I will outline the available commands as well as what they do.
adblock: Block/Unblock ads
Usage:
adblock [on|off]
Turns ad blocking for the system on or off
How it's used
Code:
# turn on ad blocking
adblock on
# turn off ad blocking
adblock off
As you can see, scriptybox works just the same as busybox in that respect.
How it Works
The premise of it is that it replaces your phones /system/etc/hosts file, which defines several of the well-known ad servers to be located at IP address 0.0.0.0.
When a hostname is resolved on linux, the first place it looks is the defined hosts file (for android, /system/etc/hosts). If the hostname is found there, it uses the IP address provided. If not, then it uses the DNS servers to look it up. adblock essentially takes advantage of that by assigning the NULL IP address (0.0.0.0) to many well-known ad server hostnames. Thus, when an app or the browser attempt to access one of those servers, linux tells it that it is located at 0.0.0.0, but since this is NULL, the connection immediately fails and nothing happens. Hence, no ads
camsounds: Turn camera sounds on/off
Usage:
camsounds [on|off]
Turns the camera sounds (shutter and video cam) on or off
How it's used
Code:
# turn on camera sounds (shutter / video record)
camsounds on
# turn off camera sounds (shutter / video record)
camsounds off
How it works
Camsounds is a super simple script. All it does is rename the camera sounds from .ogg files to .bak files, and back again. So when they are renamed to .bak, the device can't find them and therefore they don't play. When they're renamed as .ogg files, they are found and play properly.
cpuinfo: Display CPU information
Usage statement
How it's used
Code:
# just simply type it in!
cpuinfo
How it works
All this script does is display the information found in /proc/cpuinfo. This file is dynamically populated by the linux kernel to include information about the processor.

Yes it is as much as I like Faux's kernels I wouldn't recommend the 2.0 kernel was giving me lots of problem's but cm7 kernel included with the rom is flawless.

Oh man, now I have one more Rom to keep up with. First world problems eh?
Flashing now! Thanks for the awesome Roms...
when possible, please add some details as to what to expect on this ROM... as of now I'm running faux123 latest gingerbread and the only issue I have is brightness and random APN issues *at least at the beginning* airplane mode fixed it.
No problems smooth...shot in the dark here but I get little to no reception at the house and I'm not seeing Wifi Calling don't remember if it was a standalone install somewhere on here or not, but that would be a major deciding factor if I keep this on my phone or if I have to go to something else...
I'm curious and I know someone is gonna ask anyways!
Does this have the LG camera?
Does this have the keyboard lag?
High haptic feedback?
Thanks Doniq for all your great work!

What is CyanogenMod?
Well,I'm pretty sure you all know the answer but, let's quote the official CM website:
CyanogenMod is an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system. It offers features not found in the official Android based firmwares of vendors of these cell phones.

Why should I want CM6 instead of CM(X)?
It's your choice. Tested the ROM the whole night and with RIL,GPS and WiFi enabled I have to say - it has got a very good battery backup. Also Froyo sometimes > Gingerbread in performance and stability.
Why did you start another thread?
The old one was just a little bit messed up. I'll keep it as a helpdesk lol
Well,let's talk business:
Features:
Froyo CyanogenMod settings (CMParts) featuring some cool options missing in CM7,like an early theme chooser
Optimized CM Code,obviously
Totally built from scratch (lot of my patches + froyo-stable branch)
ADW.Launcher
DSPManager
...and much more.
Bugs(read the NOTES):
Bluetooth doesn't work (should be easy to fix) - Fixed with mik's init service + LG btwlancoex (was, kinda hard to make it work) in preBeta2
Lights don't work (trying CAF)
3D doesn't work (also this should be easy, wrong permissions somewhere)
Audio doesn't work(driving me nuts, but should be easy also) - Fixed in preBeta2
Camera FCs(testing CodeAurora Froyo libcamera)
Browser FCs when opening a flash site - Apache-http issue
Music app doesn't work - Fixed in preBeta2
Terminal emulator doesn't work - Use it from market
Video app don't work - Fixed in preBeta2
Blackscreen bug (just flash another kernel, will pack it up in next release) - Fixed in preBeta2
FM Radio doesn't work (fixable issue, anyway you don't buy a 200€ phone for FM,so I won't take care of it now)

You have done a wonderful job Bytecode
your vision is other than others, better..
good luck with your current projects!
Merry christmas to you & yours...Thanks for all the hard work...Remeber (That where there is error, may you bring truth). Can't wait to see what the new year will bring !
Congratulations for your work Bytecode! But let me ask you a question: what are the pros in using FroYo instead of Gingerbread? I've never tried a FroYo custom rom, but I think our phone can manage running Gingerbread perfectly.
I know I'm a bit ignorant in rom development, sorry

The only advantage I could think of was the battery. With froyo, there are a bit less power hungry settings. I was using void#froyo-final before and this was the main reason for using that rom. Afterwards, since I was very fond of gaming and such, I switched over to GB for that specific reason at first.
Well done bytecode.(ciaox)
My wife still got openoptimus v1.148 for 5 months and she don't want me to change it...
Merry christmas

Thanks for the screenshots! Hope I'll fix major bugs soon.
Now trying again mik9's libaudio and libcamera. But seems they don't want to work at all with froyo.
gnite sweet dream
Hmm,libaudio undeclared stuff is related to AudioRecord.h in framework base possibly. I replaced it with mik's.
Also for 3D I'm now testing with video.accelerate and debug.sf.hw on,because libs are right. Otherwise we'll see
For lights not working I declared TARGET_CUSTOM_LIBLIGHTS_FILE (my definition) into msm7k/liblights/Android.mk to make thunderg lights.c build, otherwise it won't.
For bluetooth I'm looking into mik's bluetooth folder.
I added this port to the official CM wiki
P.S: Nor bluetooth/3d/lights patch work
But I've found something really interesting: LG GT540 and LG P500 are very similiar, and they have a working CM6 port - so since also mikegapinski used mik's thunderg library for his phone,I'll try it along with libcamera, which is also giving issues.
And probably,I'm missing some 3D libraries: Is it enough to copy all egl folder libs, libgsl, libegl and egl config?

Old cm behavior.
yes!
Audio is now fixed
Now,lemme fix 3D and beta2 will be available. Still doesn't work with all libs
Music and video also now work
3D is driving me nuts - I copied every lib needed but it still doesn't work.
Bluetooth seems pretty ****ed up; logcat says it's all ok,at least I can get something from dmesg:
Code:
<3>init: no such service 'hciattach'
the hciattach bin is there though. probably it does like this because I used some LG stuff, but with other configs.
Lights probably don't work because I copied a wrong lib. Hope I will fix these bugs until 31 dec,but I do not promise anything for camera and FM.
great work. if you get 3d working i'm your man for testing all
3D is really,i don't know: It was sooooo easy to fix it on Sense 2.0,still froyo, but not here! :I
Also I can't see any trace of working libEGL in logcat,WTF I can't see the libs loading.
Lights, will use andy's and also his prebuilt lib.
BT,still driving me ****ing nuts.
