Have you tried using titanium backup to freeze or uninstall it.

Anyone know can I link "My local profile" in the people app with my facebook profile? When I pick my facebook profile from contacts and select to join it my local profile doesn't show in the list. I've added my phone number under the dialer settings but that didn't seem to help either.
All my calls and texts are logged under the local profile and it's annoying.

If you go to the Unofficial CM9 forum, at the bottom of page 35 somebody else had the same problem with Facebook sync. At the top of page 36 PipelinerArd answered what to do.
Edit: Sorry if I sound like a d*ck, but the answer is there. If you posted that question in that forum, somebody probably could have helped you faster. If that doesn't help your specific problem, maybe somebody else in that one could help you out. I run that rom, but don't use that particular feature.

Thanks, but that's not my problem. I saw that when I read through that thread before I flashed the rom, and got FB-Sync from the play store. That sync'd all my FB contacts fine, and I can join all of those contacts with duplicates in my Google contact list fine. I just can't join MY profile with the "My Local Profile" in the People app.
And no, you didn't sound like a **** to me lol :good:
EDIT: After looking at it again it looks like the profile I'm trying to link is my personal profile saved to my Google contacts, not my actual facebook profile.

Alright lol. Well like I said I don't use Facebook sync stuff, so I don't know about that one.

Yesterday I finally rooted my device and flashed CM7.
One of the few things that I really enjoyed from Sense was the Contact syncing with FB (so their FB profile pictures were in my contact list and appeared when people called), and the dialer allowing me to type names rather than numbers to call contacts.
Are there any 3rd party apps or tricks in CM7 to get some of those features?

You can always manually link them from the contacts app. It will suck if you have a lot of contacts.
Open the contact, menu, edit, join and it should find potential matches.
Sucks to do it one by one, anyone know if there is a way to have it run through all and make suggestions like sense does?

If they have the same name it should link itself. I usually have to manually add a few who have changed their Facebook name. Twitter can be added as well as linked in.

I remember my old vibrant had that feature in the address book, i was able to add address, etc, etc, and birthdays!!
Now I have my galaxy s 4g on official gingerbread and it doesnt have that feature...
Did google strip this feature with firmware upgrades?
if so they are retarded. Its a very useful feature to have!

SIM only contacts can't. If it is saved as a phone contact you will be able too.

I use Go Contacts, adds all the info I want, and I backup to SDcard.
Alex, this phone is not a vibrant. I would suggest saving all of your contacts to the google servers and then you can adds whatever you want. Also, if you sync with Facebook, it handles most of that for you

This is a reason why I didnt see the birthday option:
apparently if you have you phone book setting set to: (ask where to store a contact, by default) meaning when you want to create a contact it will ask you where to store him phone, google, sim, etc....... then it wont let you edit birthday.. it will let you view however birthdays you put for some contacts,,, but if you want to create a new contact and you want to add a bday.. then by default you contact setting should be (store contact to google)

If I might ask, why do you want to do this? Without this how do you know at a glance where your particular contact is stored?
i dont really need to know where my contacts are stored as all my contacts are on my google account.
I understand. I like them there as a management tool, so if I make a mistake and store one of my contacts on my phone or sim, it flags me.
I'm sorry I can't help you further with this. Maybe you could ask this question in the development section as I think this is a feature of the android system.

I disliked this feature as well, becuz i don't have facebook on my phone. I use exdialer becuz u can get themes for the dial pad, and the other program it comes with, ex contacts, allows u to remove the avatar pic. its smooth and very customizable.

While you're waitig for the thread to be moved by the mods, have a look at Endymion. I don't use it as I don't like Sense, so I stick with Reaper ROM, by Endy gets all the recommendations from the guys on here who do like to use a Sense-based ROM.

All you have to do is sign in to Facebook through accounts and sync. Then HTC Sense will request permission

whatsapp contacts sync has been messed up for a while anyway leading to alot of pictures not showing whether from facebook or the gallery.. twitter contact sync has also had problems recently and even got removed not sure if it's back.. anyway as others have said Q and A forum this is marked DEVELOPMENT

I use FriendCaster Pro for Android. It syncs hi res pics from facebook, and whatsapp picks them up beautifully.

Works fine as long as you're not expecting status updates in the contacts app. Syncs images,.email addresses, addresses etc

same here. i now downloaded it from pirate bay but it does not work (v2.5.2). When I add the HaxSync account in the settings, I can login with my Facebook credentials, then facebook asks for permissions and when I click to proceed, just a white screen appears and nothing happens.
A question to the guys with a Nexus 5 and HaxSync working: which version do you use?

Previously I had HTC One X and I loved that integration with facebook. I have noticed long time ago that HTC puts facebook tag data for every contact (note field) so that can easily connect my phone contacts with facebook profiles any time.
Is there any way to use that data to do the same with N5 (or any other device)?

I know exactly what you mean. And the answer is: No. Unfortunately not. I have already spent hours to restore and relink the HTC facebook tags on other HTC and non HTC phones. Nothing is working.
I now found the app Contacts+ and it seems to have everything I was looking for. Recommendable so far.
It seems that haxsync can use htcdata tag and sync your contacts, but unfortunately it is removed from the Play store because of some issues with Facebook Platform Policy Team .
