Right, but will it have a Castellano keyboard with a ñ ?
And is an extra $110 really that insanely expensive? You'll have to pay that much to ship it from the US and pay customs on it unless you find a way around the customs fees.

Well, I don't consider buying the keyboard for the time being. And, of course, I'll try to find someone to bring it here, shipment through customs out of question.

499 without the dock.
I'm looking for a Castellano keyboard, but from what I can tell, Asus doesn't make them until about a year or two after the product releases (for the TF101 anyhow). The TF201 and TF300 still only have English from what I can find.

Phoned the shop today and wad told keyboard in production, but not before August :banghead: late

Eh...OK now I'm
I knew there were 2 versions, at least, in silver and another in black. But that picture shows a hybrid of the two.
Or is that a 3rd color variant? looks more black/blue than black/silver.
Edit: it say in the description gray/black (translated)
It's about £30 more to what I'm paying here in the UK. Wonder what's their shipping cost to the UK?

Yes I ordered the UK (English) variant. I am not sure if they will ship to the US. You may call their line listed on the site and check.
I am in Netherland and it comes with free shipping throught Nederland. I am picking it up at their shop in Rotterdam tomorrow
They say that it's the black variant (that the overall color is black, but that the touch pad is silver). But still, people aren't sure that there's even a black and a silver variant...
I hope so, since I'm hoping for the black one
there is a thread about where you can get the touch cruise in the netherlands... It's a list with prices And shippingcosts.
PDAShop has dropped their price!
Just got a call from them. They have dropped their price Down by 30 Euros to 569

You must be enjoying your new toy since you haven't been around much
The annoying thing is that they STILL have stock but won't deliver to the UK. Believe it or not, I even looked for a day return flight with no joy (holidays + fog f-ing great).
Just tell me it's worth the wait, please.

[Q] keyboard dock direct from Asus (UK) ???

Hi guys,
I ordered my transformer (what a name for a device eh! ) and it will be delivered next week. I thought I read somewhere here that Asus are selling the keyboard dock directly? is this true?
If so, can somebody point me in the right direction please? I heard you get a nice discount if you go direct!
thanks.

Thanks bro... looks like I'm too late. offer ended 22 April midnight! Although £55 doesn't seem like a discount at all.
Ah yeah sorry thought it was up to the 29th. Oh well like you say I doubt it's going to be a huge difference to the price in the shops anyways.

I'd try contacting them. I think the intention was to allow ordering in this way until the bundled version is available. As it isn't yet available, they may still accept your order.
The offer is still open but it closes on Friday 29th April, you need to have purchased your transformer before the 22nd April.

No I'm not sure, but the indications are all that way. I think you can still pre-order the bundle on Amazon for example, with release date of June 1st. That's a pretty strong hint to me that it its going to happen, but I agree it is no guarantee.
Bundle as in price break? That is what I have been hoping, $150 seems a tad to much for the dock, but I'm sure I'd end up paying it if I have to.

Import Asus Infinity, from US to UK, anything specific need to knows?

Hello Users! My first post (woohoo) and probably a very noobish one.
Now, I've been using this forum for ages, but never made an account, been using it for my nice Sensation XE, got some great roms and help from the forums.
Anyway, more to the point.
In the UK, the TF700T's are about £600 default at the moment and just keep rising, now, I can get a US one for about £340, which is a lot more in my price range.
Now, I know the obvious, I'll need a US to UK transformer. However, is there anything else I need to be worried about? Such as, Keyboard layout? Firmware? Like, anything major that could effect me having an US tablet in the UK.
I don't give a toss about warranty, I'll be rooting it before I even use it. But, just worried incase firmwares are different? Stopping me from rooting/customisation, I'm just a little stuck here, wasn't sure if I should have stuck this in QnAs, but a general discussion sounded better since I know it's a question a lot of people ask, and people might have different takes on it.
Thank you for reading, much appreciated!

Other side of the world here so can't be definite but:
* keyboard - if you get the dock the layout will be slightly different (your ' and @ are transposed I believe and you'll have $ instead of pound sign) but I assume on the tablet itself you have UK keyboards?
* firmware - if similar to here you'll get it faster than others in UK (I got the latest update a day or two before those that bought locally in Oz)
No idea if there are any other ramifications.
Not really. I live in Sweden and bought mine in NY on my last trip there. Haven't experienced any problems at all. So you're good to go.

ARen't you forgetting import duty? If they catch you anyway...
Hm...
The joy of Android is that it comes with all languages installed, so the tablet you can just set to UK English instead of US English, and that changes the Tablet's keyboard, dictionary and such to the UK layout. The dock, however, will be a US layout. Though from what I've seen, all other countries sell the US-layout keyboard anyhow.
You'll most likely get the updates faster, and that probably includes Jelly Bean. (I see people here mentioning updates I've not seen yet, when, ironically, the Dutch stores sold it before the US...) The firmware for US is different from the international one, or at least there are different versions listed.
Actually, most users here are US, and thus use the US firmware. You'll probably have an easier time rooting and customizing your tablet when you have a US one than if you have a UK one.
Just make sure the store shipping it marks the shipment as GIFT, or you'll be paying a massive import fee.
I paid £60 import duty on my 700 from the US to UK. Apart from a £5 US to UK adaptor i still dont think thats too bad. (i didnt get the keyboard as i had my 200 keyboard)
Do it!
I bought mine in the us, the only catch I found is that the nice UK plug is £25 (but well worth it in my opinion).
That version has snap on us plug adaptors but the one in the box is fixed in place
Can you not just use a power adapter? I thought the transformer line had a power transformer which could handle 240 and 110V inputs? Could well be wrong though!

Hi I have just found this thread, I am also thinking about buying the tf700 from the US, were you sent a import invoice with your tablet? and how long did it take to come from the US?

Do bear in mind, as others have suggested, if you have it shipped to you via mail order you will almost certainly be hit for 20% VAT for an import from a non EU country
If you travel to the US yourself and carry it back you are less likely to need to pay (although technically the VAT is still due)
That said; I'm using a US keyboard (TF201 - not that there is any difference) I sourced to match the TF700 that I imported from Germany. No problems at all. The biggest difference in key layout is the " and @ are swapped around... but takes no time to get used to that.
Good luck!
Yes you can just us a cheap US to UK adaptor, no need to voltage changes. I paid £5 for one in maplin.
Also if you must have a real UK adaptor (for some reason) then just google tf101 power adaptor in Ebay and get one of those. I bought a real asus 101 adaptor for £15 off ebay, better than spending £30 on a 700 one.

I would be eventually interested in buying a XDA-Developer case. But they are only released in 4-6 weeks.
Also you should keep in mind that you have to pay 19% EUST when the order is about 22€.

Yeah I know but it would be cheaper nonetheless. Total cost 11.90€ + shipping in Germany. The order must be less than 150€ in value as well to avoid customs...

I pre-ordered one on the 11th Dec and it shipped on the 10th Jan.
Here I am, but I'm from Italy...
I need a BLACK Androidfied A2 for my Galaxy Nexus (12.90 dollars), because I can't find this color in any european stores :crying:
An international ordinary shipment from Germany to Italy is quite cheap and fast. :good:
So, if you need my help, just ask me and let me eventually know how much for shipment costs.

It's 3,45 euros with Großbrief International by Deutsche Post.

Ask the seller to ship it as a gift item or promotional item. This generally cancels the levied tax.. Not sure if it applies in your country though.. :silly:
Also, yes it's different. You use odin here or you can flash via recovery.. The forums have all the relevant information required..
I'd suggest Liquid Smooth, it's very smooth and customizable..
Yeah i downloaded everything required.
I just need to find a guide.
The seller told me that the tax is unavoidable ;/ i'll live with it though Paid 300$ for my Xperia Pro, i can surely pay 250 for Relay
Wish me luck with the shipping

I'd like to ask someone from U.S. to help me get a Relay 4G from eBay.
I found out that if someone buys from the guy on eBay (the one i want) and then sends it to me as a gift, then I'd be able to pay around 40$ less.
If there's anybody that could help me, I'd really appreciate it.
We could set the terms through pm (I'm down with securing the trade via eBay).
I hope there's someone rich with a lot of time that can help me
Greets
I'm selling my Relay if anyone is interested.
PM me
I recently went to the US and bought a Relay from eBay for 99$. When you go there in person, no taxes need to be paid.
But I bought the first Relay some time ago also from eBay, and their GSP (global selling program) is really good. Especially because they tell you in advance how much shipping AND taxes you have to pay, and I had not only this but some other stuff as well shipped to me and I never had to go anywhere to pick it up and never had to pay anything additional. So for buying to the EU at least I can very much recommend it.
You'll recognize GSP items if it says something like "includes customs clearance and international shipping with package tracking" (in your language) and they give you an estimate of the taxes and shipping on the eBay item page.
And in my experience, declaring items as gift does exactly nothing, because it doesn't matter - you're bringing goods into the country and you have to pay taxes for it, no matter whether it's a gift or not. And finally, according to http://www.dutycalculator.com/country-guides/Import-duty-taxes-when-importing-into-Poland/ you don't have to pay anything if the total value is below 150 EUR - which should be enough to get a used Relay 4G.
Stefan
I see.
Regarding the 150 EUR limit, a new relay costs ~190 $, that's like 140 EUR, but the seller still includes the tax... why's that?
Just bought one unit from ebay for 222$ with import and delivery charges.
Hope it comes in one piece

Great
I actually have the Polish keyboard working right now, but it's on CM11, which has performance problems for me ;/
I'd really like to get cm 10.2 (or whatever the lastest Jelly Bean is) with Polish word correction support.
I made an attempt to copy the keyboard files from CM11 to CM10.2 zip file, and the keyboard worked fine, but the launcher would crash quite a bit ;/
Could you let me know about any threads regarding Polish keyboard support?
