Dear Community,
today I am proud to be able to provide us an awesome ROM out of the german forum android-hilfe. It's made by the user of this forum defy+++, not by me!
"Everything developed and provided by defy+++, User of www.android-hilfe.de, THIS IS NOT MY WORK, I am only bringing it for him to xda-developers.com forum with his permissions!"
This ROM only works with Defy+ or Defy red lense (ich you have problems with red lense defy battery etc. flash this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f6qaojp106auvx9/ICS Defy Red Lense Battery Fix_2.zip thanks dkn00b! with Gingerbread KernelSearching for Defy green lense testers who try this ROM, maybe I am able to mod walter's greenbread-MOD for this ROM, I have to ask him first.

!Attention! We strogly recommed to undervolt using ClockworkModRecovery (maybe preconfigured SetVsel is integrated in an further update) due to battery drain with stock settings in CWM!
(go to CPU Settings->and chose lower Vsel you can adjust Clocks to 1250MHz, I do not expact that every Defy can run higher clocks, due to needing Vsel over 65 and I don't believe thats that what our Motophone likes (; )
new fix for ugly symbols: http://www25.zippyshare.com/v/88111408/file.html
how-to-install: The usual way, root with superoneclick, install 2nd-init, restart and hit volume down when the LED flashes blue than your in bootloader, go to System Recovery, custom recovery, than wipe date/factory reset and wipe cache+dalvik cache in advanced, than go back to CWM startscreen and select "install .zip from sdcard" chose Defy+++ CM9 4.0.4 ROM from the zippyshare download link (you have to copy it to your sdcard in an folder like "CM9 ROM"with your PC before)
[if you have defy red lense flash any Gingerbread-Kernel before that all, also wipe date/factory reset and wipe cache+dalvik cache before doing this, Gingerbread Kernel can be found by typing "Gingerbread Kernels for Defy" in the search box, you can flash one in this way: install RSD Lite 5.6 on your PC (search it in google I am to busy to post links for this standard programs) and install motohelper driver from motorola homepage on your PC in the Support/Downloads section, than remove battery from your Defy red lense / Defy+, press volume down and than power button wait until bootloader mode appers (Android Triangle loge with an "!"), than connect the phone to your PC via USB and start RSD Lite select the kernel to flash and everything should be fine, If you have already CWM, go CWM and install an Gingerbread kernel as .zip (you can find those by searching it here in the forum, there plenty of them)]
If you have still problems or your new to Android and flashing with RSD Lite Kernels and so on, contact me on facebook or visit the "Motorola Hangout-Group" in facebook (http://www.facebook.com/groups/378940478820529/401775739870336/?notif_t=group_activity) or add me as friend: http://www.facebook.com/lukas.j0
nor I, Android94 / defy+++, xda or the android-hilfe forum are responsible for any damage you do to your Phone or PC with this ROM and you will lose your Motorola warranty (if your not clever enough to flash a stock .sbf before you bring it to any motorola service)

@john9: thanks for your report I will send it to the developer or try to fix it by myself for him, very friendly guy from germany the developer of CM9 Defy+++ !
@daede86: I believe thethring works, but I would love to install this ROM and test it for my future tablet, but I am not able to because i am stuck on unrootable 2.3.6, extremly modded with 1% battery widget from market jellybean4.1-adw-based-launcher, LBE Guard with traffic monitor ontop-widget which is always visible in the Top right corner even in games like templerun, thats due to no kind of rsd lite works under any Operating System, but yesterday I installed ubuntu linux as my 3d OS, trying to flash it with terminal in ubuntu, but ubuntu is so new and strange for me because I was only used to use openSUSE for a long time on my old pc...
Hey nice to see you here too, recognize your mod already on android-hilfe.de
I have a green lense defy and i would like to test. But I am more like a advanced noob but perhaps you want teach me something.

OMFG!!!!
I don't know what to say! maybe one question: How do you just successfully registered on this site?
Has anyone flashed this with walter's gingerbread kernel on a red lens defy? How's the battery life on this one? Also any known issues? I'm happy with CM7 atm, but would definitely love to get this one if the battery life's good!

Download MIUI for Defy 1.10.8
No Data Wipe Install
This method assumes you already have MIUI and want to upgrade to a newer version without wiping all your data and apps.
1. Download Latest MIUI rom.
2. Boot into Custom Recovery.
3. Choose Install .zip from SD Card, select MIUI rom .zip.
4. Select "Wipe Cache" then go to Advanced and select "Wipe Dalvik Cache". Reboot.
How To Install from Scratch
If you have 2nd Init installed already skip to step 3, if not start at step 1. These steps assume you already have flashed the Nordic Froyo rom to your Defy.
1. Download Defy 2nd init installer, easiest way is from market.
2. Run the 2nd init installer following the instructions closely.
3. Boot into Custom BootMenu by pressing volume down when device flashes a blue led at bootup. Set default boot mode to 2nd init.
4. Select Recovery, Custom Recovery. Choose "Wipe Data/Cache" option and next select "Wipe Cache" then go to Advanced and select "Wipe Dalvik Cache".
5. Choose Install .zip from SD Card, select MIUI rom .zip.

@ifu there are two threads besides this one. There is one for the miui.us release and another one for the miuiandorid. Since Ephu decided to sell his Defy and to move to DHD the miuiandroid OP was no longer updated... so there is nothing wrong to have a new topic which will keep alive here on xda the miuiandroid version. my 2cents.
Back to MIUI topic. I saw the Defy update wasn't yet released through OTA.
I think its fine as long as its updated regularly. We could post any bugs in the new roms here
OTA dint work ,it just goes back to 1.9.9

What kind of troubles? For me it's working fine. The only downside is I have to swipe the screen first (swipe up generally), otherwise it will only blink once, but this I suppose it's the expected behavior.

Happened to me today and I had to cancel the file download which started automatically. I guess the OTA "server" or the updater app are not properly set-up. Maybe Mark or someone from miuiandroid can have a look. Since I didn't noticed any miuiandroid dev here on XDA I guess we have to contact them using their forum/blog.

I actually bought a HD2, broke it within a week and ended up buying a cheap x10i! Miss my Defy but just riding it out until my upgrade in February!
I see nothing wrong with a new topic either although copying my exact wording/instructions and posting it as his own is a little naughty

Here is the latest MIUI ICS 4.0.1 from Galnet.
As stated in my previous MIUI Thread:
THIS ROM IS A BETA BUILD!!!(I will remove "BETA" when everything is working, Bluetooth, HDMI, etc..)
DO NOT PM ME OR JORDAN ABOUT ISSUES! I simply PORT what GALNET releases. YOU are the testers for this ROM. If you have issues just hope that the next release fixes them. If you know how to fix any of the issues feel free to let me know, and i will upload the fixed version.
IF THIS THREAD ENDS UP LIKE THE LAST MIUI IT WILL BE CLOSED
Rom Installation: (If you are just upgrading to the next release, skip.steps 3&4, if you are coming from a non miui rom I suggest following all of the steps.)
1. Place MIUI.zip on internal SD card
2. Reboot into CWM
3. Wipe data/factory reset
4. Wipe Dalvik Cache
5. Flash MIUI.zip
If your phone doesn't boot:
1. Pull battery and put back in
2. Hold volume up, volume down, and power button
3. let go of power button as soon as you see samsung text
4. wait til blue cwm shows
5. Flash MIUI-Infuse-1.*.*.zip again
6. Enjoy!!
If you are on a previous MIUI build. (non Galnet) simply flash without wiping anything.
No need for the APN Fix thanks to bigafu Thanks buddy

1: Download sgs kernel flasher
2: Download CWM community kernel
3: Flash kernel via sgs kernel flasher "unchecked the reboot button" when done flashing turn phone of "SHUTDOWN"
4: 3 finger until the Samsung logo pops up keep holding the buttons the screen will go black then Samsung logo will come up, let go of the power button and keep hold the volume up and down buttons "For about 20 seconds" then let go it should boot into Red CWM after a few seconds.
5: Go to install zip from SD card go all the way down and run update.zip it will boot back into RED CWM run update.zip again and it should now boot into GREEN CWM
6: From here Re-Flash MIUI "New Release would be smart", Wipe Fact,Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik, Flash, reboot at sign of Samsung logo pull battery, 3 finger into blue recovery and flash again.
7: Presto you should be set and have recovery back.

Few quick questions:
1. Is this compatible with other radios? Is stock suggested?
2. Does this come with the stock ICS google apps?
3. Would flashing adrenaline.v13 work with the ICS build?
4. Is this voodoo enabled?

Fellas im going to bed. Find out any issues and i will do my best to try and fix them tomorrow. From the video i watched it seems that the status bar benu didnt change like it does on the i9000 and a few other small things, have to do some digging tomorrow.
Flashed and running great.
Any idea if any of the future ICS features will require a full kernel swap? Things like GPU acceleration and the like. Or will just having the framework already set up be enough?
Its nice...quick...I just can't tell any difference between this one or the gb version ....except it says 4.0.1 in about phone...works good tho...clean...thanks bro

Hi! I'm new here on XDA!
I have a i9020A unlocked from manufacturer and since ICS is around I am testing a few ROMs..
At the moment, I have this installed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397358
With Matr1x CFS v13 at the moment.
#1. Here is my battery status after 7h

Is that good or what? Had anything at all installed besides what came with the ROM.
#2. With this rom and this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363765 I cant use the BLN app from market to configure it. BLN works if I install glados or matr1x but it isnt customizable. Any ideas? Also on this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363765 there is a way to change the bootloader image?
#3. What are the today ROM + Kernel recommendation for me? Every rom I've tested so far worked nice besides some that messed up with Facebook fonts making them invisible..
Thanks a lot and sorry for noob stuff!
That battery info looks good!
Use whatever combo feels good to you personally!
Use nstools to turn on bln and customise.
Matr1x is the kernel I use myself, and nexus beam is the rom.
Yeah I used to have Beam 4.1.0 and I migrated to other because the notification statusbar toggles.. If anyone knows how to install it on nexus beam or other roms, would be nice!
what abt my other doubts? any ideas anyone?
thx!

Well you have 3 of then in the power menu and wifi is two clicks away, pull down notifications and settings! Status bar toggles are almost obsolete really.
Which doubts? Shorten it for me coz its early and I'm only half awake!
about the notification bar widgets: i just think is cleaner than using an actual widget on a screen

the BLN you told about NSTools to customize, because with the actual rom and that one of the above quote (the 1st link) i get a error on bln app about liblights not supporting bln even with matr1x or glados..so i'll try nstools!
the other question is about changing boot images, i wonder if i can change the one from the 2nd link rom.. or if there is a generic method to do it on all roms
another good stuff about the other roms is the shutdown button menu with more options
thnx

OK as for the bln app well it does that, I assure you that glados and matr1x have bln so nstools will sort that for you, don't worry about the bln control app.
Hmmm, that I can't help you with. Mainly because I don't understand fully what you wanna do and secondly I don't wanna guess in case I give bad advice!
Do you wanna change the bootloader?
I agree about the extended power menu, I really want a reboot option in nexus beam. But its a smooth rom so I'll manage with vol up and power to get to recovery!
yes i want to change the animation of boot.. the one with that ultimate rom is pretty lame (its the rom logo, i know, but i dont like it haha) i wonder if i can change to at least the stock one..

Ah yes I see!!!!! Ya you can change it! Install root explorer, file explorer, something like that and go to system/media and you will see bootanimation.zip. just copy and paste to SD card, install rom you want to use and copy that file into the system/media folder and it will overwrite the crap one!

hello guys .
i am pretty new , a toddler , in this world of android and stuff .
so kindly excuse my 'noobivity' or ignorance if you may call , in asking this question ....
well , i was able to root my nexus s , and flashed it with many ROMs .
and right now i am using the ICS ROM by Brainmaster .
to be precise , this is what the exact name of the ROM spells -
ICS MIX A9 NS Brainmaster Tweaked v6 kwiboo_2 .
and in the process of trying out the various flavors of ROM , i discovered the VooDoo sound control and found it pretty cool .
but this ROM doesnt feature VooDoo .
i read more , and found that we can flash specific Kernels for specific features . !
now i found that the Matr1x Kernel ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361477 ) features the VooDoo controls .
now my question is , can i flash this Kernel over my existing ROM ?
will it be safe ?
in other words , how do we go about flashing a Kernel ?
How to see whether it will be compatible with a given type of ROM ?
if any learned and more experienced user would kindly guide me and educate me more on the subject , it would be kind and highly appreciable of him/her .
thanks ...
INTRODUCE
So, what the hell is team NoOb.LuLz?...It's Kyndig66 and solrac1212 (yay) and me ^^...We're just some noob members and just try to port roms (not two devs honestly) but our main goal is try to translate some Chinese in Chinese roms that Erikmm's ported to this device. So, we just port roms for fun and try to translate it if we can (since we're still noobs now ) and I hope devs will help us ...Anyway, our port is not totally perfect (just a port, nothing more like tweaks or kernels or ice cream sandwich or cupcake...blah blah ) just serve people who wanna try something new (like Lewa OS that I can found similar to ^^), not who wanna request the perfect build for daily stuff when this is just our 1st build. But, our rom(s) IS NOT EXCLUSIVE as well since I know Erikmm is far far far far...la la la...far far far better from us and he will seriously port one of those Chinese roms for your daily purpose if he finds that would be necessary (our port is JUST FOR FUN or for new rom flavor).
About Ligux OS
This is Ligux OS, which is ported from HTC Desire official build.
It's based on CM7.2 R11.
It has some build.prop tweaks from Team Kickass's Mokee build 2.
The UI is exactly the same as CM7 except the Switches and Coopoui (find out yourself).
For me, It's smooth and not much Chinese.
Reboot to recovery isn't working.

The lesson here is: never give up on the sgs4g! Awesome to see more people getting involved and porting new roms. I'm playing with mokee at the moment, but I'll give this a spin in a couple of days. Again, glad to see this posted!

Jeez! Is anyone keeping "score?" The Bible, good as it is one basics, is useless in this regard. What we need is a chart (or maybe a family tree) showing which ROMs are related and what characteristics they have. Easier said than done by lazy and less adventurous bastards like me.
Here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-T959V/List_of_ROMs
Go ahead and add in the new roms.
Should have known
Excellent!

Question. Went through the directions and after I flashed legux, it will not boot at all. Did not boot back into recovery, and can not normal boot. As many times as I have flashed this phone, this is a new problem for me. On my way home to see if I can even Odin back, but I thought this was odd

Have you tried pushing the apk to \system\apps? Pinyin was developed by Google China Labs hence the layout. You can use whichever keyboard you prefer. lumin30 has all of the stock gingerbread apk's here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500701

Foreword
RAB and me (the two developers of this ROM) are very proud to present you the first modified stock ROM for Motorola Motoluxe XT615.
It´s a realy simple ROM, based on the german (unbranded) stock firmware.
If you notice a bug, failure or you have a inspiration for us just tell us.
But keep in mind we won´t do any graphical changes!
About
Phone: Motorola Motoluxe XT615
Kernel: no kernel included (stock kernel)
Android: 2.3.7
Firmware: IRM-1670-0-4073-A02
Language: Multilanguage
Features
- Deodexed
- Prerooted
- Busybox
- init.d compatibility
- Disabled startsound
- Zipaligned
- Tweaked
Preparation
Installed firmware: IRM-1670-0-4073-A02 (You´re able to get it here)
Other A2 firmwares should work too, but we can´t promiss it
Installed Motorola USB-drivers
Get CWM 6.0.1.5 by enox here
Installation
Get the ROM to your PC
RelentlessROM_signed_1.0.zip
Hosted by Mediafire
Paste the file to your sdcard
Load CWM (we absolutely recommand to use CWM 6.0.1.5 by enox, because the updater-script is layouted for it and we´re able to confirm that it works with it! Other versions of CWM might brick your device or wont even work! Further instructions and downlink you can find here)
Make a nandroid backup, just in case...
After it select "Flash .zip from sdcard" and choose the file, e.g. "RelentlessROM_signed_1.0.zip"
Confirm that you want to flash this file
Wait till it will print a output like "Time to reboot..."
Understandably you have to reboot now
Finished
Extension-Packs1. Gingerluxe (also compatible with MotoRoX-ROM)
- AOSP-Theme
- Launcher2 from AOSP-Gingerbread
- CM7-Keyboard and -Filemanager
- Removed nearly all Motorola apps
- Removed apps that are available in play store
- More battery life
- More free internal space
- Less laggs
- 10% battery steps
- black background, white foreground
- etc.
ExtPack-Gingerluxe.zip
Hosted by Mediafire
Awesome work. Might flash it later.

no just reboot
I've used it for two weeks and the last week I saw that the battery usage was less than with the firmware IRM-1670-0-4073-A02
Hi, thanks for this amazing Rom.... Just wondering.... Will there be an android 4 ..ICS OR JB releases for this phone by the developer of this Rom or by enox ...thanks
When its possible i´ll do it or i´ll try it.
But its just possible after unlocking the bootloader.
Yet, we´re just able to build ROMs based on stock firmwares.
Otherwise the phone wont boot.
So feed us with inspirations and we´ll improve our Relentless ROM
This rom have language romanian?
Yes. It includes the romanian language pack
sO... Where art thou link, for the actual rom?

I´m so sorry.
I´ve messed something up while i´ve added the ExtensionPack to the second post
So.. now its fixed.. thanks for reporting
Have fun with the ROM
you re rom work great thanks a lot... very strange things i have the startup sound ;p
Why i have always problem with blur.service after i install your ext. pack? Im using german .sbf, your Relentles rom and first ext. pack. Now i install updated ext. and shows me this error.
Edit: I solve this with.. flash your rom again, after that flash ext. pack and now works fine.
But why? I already have your rom with ext. pack.. thats strange.
this will not work on the canadian virgin mobile phone in canada with the newest firmware, untill a hack can be done on the phone to be able to let it be rooted.
Hey
Hey guys,i think i have an BootLoop,i mean the phone starts and closing after the M logo,i think i did a big mistake (I'd Factory reset when the phone had the Motorox RoM),now i flashed again the firmware, but nothing so please help me with that, for some "thanks" and a God Blessing!
Is there any way to make it work on XT682 Atrix TV?
