There is no led. You can get an app called noled or use bln.

Nexus S 4G: Button Backlight Control

Im wondering if anyone had found a way to disable the capacitive button backlighting similar to the way ledhacks works on the evo.
When I am in low light conditions, the buttons actually end up being brighter than my settings in aldiko.
I have tried a few apps off the market, but nothing seems to be working.

Im not certain of the customization options, but have u taken a look at the BLN app?

Notification light doesn't blink after rooting

So I took the plunge and rooted, flashed beans ROM. Loving it so far.
My only issue is that my notification light doesn't blink it now stays on constantly.
I've kept my setting the same bit cannot get this corrected.
Has anyone else had this issue?? If so how'd you fix it.

The notification light is supposed to blink? I didn't stay on stock long enough to notice.
Rooted stock rom here and led notification works fine.

Lol, its supposed to blink. I'd like to hear from someone running another rom to see if it is happening to them as well.

I too am just stock rooted using noxious ninjas method and since seeing this thread i've only had a facebook notification and that is just a solid red, not blinking but i'm not sure about other notifications since I haven't had any yet.... But before I rooted, I could've sworn a FB notification showed up as a kind of purple light and now its just red!?
[Edit] I just sent an email to myself to test the notification and it does blink blue, so it is working and per the comment below, FB wouldn't make it blink anyways.
3rd party apps don't blink the light. Stock apps do.
That stinks that 3rd party apps dont blink. Is that something that can be addressed in future builds??
Any other workaround or mod??

I agree, super annoying. Wish my led would blink for sms and mms, instead of just staying on.

Use a kernel with BLN support. It will use your captivate buttons as a makeshift LED notification.'

Does it work well?
Well, sort of. When I had my Vibrant, I could make the buttons really pop out and see them from across the room. With this, if I can see the buttons, then I have a notification. If I don't see any buttons, then it's because the lights are off. It's not as bright and nice as the Vibrant, but at least I can look and see if I have notifications. If you use CM10, there is an option in settings for it, under Advanced.
You can try this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.led.notify&hl=fr
Works well, no need for specific kernel

Except that it drains the battery more on SLCD screens.

Kernel wake locks. Drains your battery down fast.

Xoom does not have an RGB notification light that I'm aware of. Only white light, tried with Lightflow and the colors don't appear.

Low battery perhaps?
(Do you have lightflow or another such app that controls LED notifications?)
My battery is still 45% at that time

Was your phone around any type of moisture? Or did it get wet somehow? I've read in some of the water damage threads that some people experience the red flashing notification light after it's been damaged from water.
No i dont think it got wet it was on top of a table and the room was cool and dry

Some apps use a red notification LED by default. I know my fiancee uses the SportsCenter app and it pulses the LED red when there's a notification.
i see the same happen on my G2, usually when i pull into my driveway and i connect to my wifi
I'm a relatively new nexus 5 user and am sometimes confused by what the color leds correspond to. Is there a tool that will indicate which app sends which color led signal?
I know Push Bullet gives me green notifications. I'm stock as well.
I think i found the problem its my zynga poker app that gets a red notification light

I am rooted but using stock rom.
Various apps utilize led notifications but it is hard after a while to remember which color corresponds to which app. I thought there might be a tool, not to modify them but just to list which app sends which color. But I guess not.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the LED light does flash red when the phone is charging, I myself downloaded Light Flow, which allows you to manage all aspects of the LED light, I like it much better than not having control over it . But like you said you did nothing, so must be just an app you have.
I wonder if an app that monitored the logcat could deduce who the heck triggered the light so you could at least find out what app was responsible?

You can go to settings-apps.Check to see what is currently running. What kind of apps do you have that run all the time?
