Hello,
I download today the ICS update for my Xoom MZ605.
I have the Team Rogue Touch Recovery.
When i select the Install Now option from the Updater, it fails in recovery with error Invalid package signature.
Then i disable the asserts and signature and tried to install on my own, usign the Install Zip from recovery.
Not worked either, failed from assert with "umts_hubble"
Are this errors from Motorola or because i have an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery? What should i do?
Thanks!

if u recieved stock ICS update (OTA), then u must be unrooted and have a stock recovery to be able to instal!
No need to lock bootloader.

I have downloaded ota 4.1.1 update but i don't know how to instal.
My one s is rooted and i have cwm. When i try to instal it via cwm it show me instal aborted.
You cant install official OTA's with a 3rd party recovery. You need to relock your bootloader and install stock recovery for it to work.
.. Or you can install a custom ROM
No need to install stock recovery.
I have been trying to get my phone to update following the directions for the past year almost and have had no luck.
EDIT*: I am trying to do the OTA update that i am being prompted to do (9.16.6)
I am on:
Android Version 4.1.1
System Verison 9.1.41XT926
Bootloader: unlocked
Safestrap
I am trying to get to Android 4.3 but when I go to voodoo OTA rootkeeper and temp unroot then download and try and install the update my phone reboots like its starting the install but then shows the android the with the ! coming out of him then it restarts and upon restart it tells me that the update failed.
What am I doing wrong and how can I get these updates to work!
Thanks,
Tyler Hegamyer
There isn't an official 4.3. And if your trying to flash a custom 4.3 you need to be unlocked running a custom recovery.

i would suggest abandoning ss unless the rom you want is only supported through ss (rare but possible).
i would:
-disable ss
-use the 1.33 utility in the dev forum to update and return to the latest stock
-use the same utility to root
-use the same utility to flash a custom recovery
--boot into recovery and witpe data/cache/"data-media(cwm recovery specific)" to be sure everything is gone
-choose the rom of your chice from the dev forum and flash in recovery as directed by the rom's dev.
Don't use safe strap. Delete the partion and uninstall it. Use cwm or twrp. And might want to change the title then your not accepting a ota your flashing a custom rom.

I'm also having some troubles. Trying to apply the new update (rooted with stock 4.1.2) keeps resulting in "signature verification failed" in CWM. I have to then wipe the cache so it doesn't keep trying to reboot and apply the update. I've also tried unfreezing all the bloat in TitaniumBackup but got the same results.
Does anyone know a solution for this?
EDIT: I've also tried running OTA rootkeeper app and it still failed.

the ota will not work through a custom recovery such as cwm, you need to put the stock recovery back on.
i have just unlocked and rooted my mini and have tried with TWRP (2.7 and 2.6) to flash cm11 and pacrom but i get a "failed" and "e: error executing updater binary in zip".
do i need to be s-off to successfully flash a rom or is there something else i'm missing?
Hi
Which version of HBOOT? For the new partition layout you need TWRP 2.7.0.8

Hboot is 2.21.0000. Is that the new one?

Hi
According to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52331377
No, its the old layout.
But, if you used an up to date nightly, you need the new recovery anyway. See:

Hi,
I've been using the same old rom for a year or so (slim rom or sth). Lately i tried updating it to something else, but I get this when I start installing rom in TWRP: Error executing updater binary in zip (...). It works the same way every rom i tried.
UPDATE:
Kinda looks like i can install slim rom 4.3 (so i suppose i could install any 4.3), but none of 4.4 works.
Best regards.
Tried to flash CWM recovery from rommanager app, but it said "Failed to flash recovery...".
please help
Download latest recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-s/development/crespo-philz-touch-t2284670
Then try to flash the ROM. It seems your recovery is very old.

@smit.sanghavi is right.
You need KitKat compatible Recovery. Update your recovery and then try to flash the ROM.
K guys, wanted to try all you said, but there's another problem.
I discovered my nexus isn't rooted. Bootloader unlocked, but any root checker says its unrooted (of course it was before...). So I'm trying to reroot it but when im connecting my phone via usb in bootloader windows 7 doesn't recognize the device. When the phone is connected in recovery or in normal usb debugging mode it recognizes it as adb android, looks good to me. I go back to booloader and i get "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" in Devices.
Installed the drivers on few different ways.
So.... what now ?
UPDATE: solved
I got the 5.1 OTA For my XT1039 (MOTO G 4G Tesco)
After downloading it will reboot into CWM (6.0.5.0) and say failed to verify, it then asks if id still like to install and when i press yes it fails and the installation is aborted with status 7.
Should i flash stock recovery ? if so please could i have a link as i ant find it anywhere
I have root and an unlocked bootlaoder with CWM 6.0.5.0 installed
Any help is appreciated
I have same problem. Phone is Moto G4 LTE uk version. Phone is unlocked and I have TWRP recovery, system is XT1039_RET-GB-SS_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.56-1_cid7_CFC_1FF . I believe that I need to restore original recovery but how? And what else I have to do?
Yes you have to be completely stock before installing an update
