So i wiped everything and started over with a stock ICS rom, everything went well - but how can i restore all (or most) of my old apps..
i did backups with titanium, and i can see all the apk files (along with other stuff) but is there an easier way to do this? i thought titanium would show me a list of all the old backed up files and i could check to install them all.
i could always go through the folder but some things are funny names i.e:
com.something.dudesname.PROGRAMNAME.version.apk ? lol
that would take for ever to sort through..
for you guys that flash roms all the time, how do you re-install your apps??
I have the paid version of titbu. I just do a batch b/u of user apps and after the flash I do a restore user apps.
From the b/u and restore menu you tap the check mark on the upper right corner of the page.

In titanium backup look for batch option button. Look for the check marked box on the top. Hit that button and it will take you to a new page. Select restore apps and data. Select the apps you want to restore and hit he button in the top right corner. Wait til It restoring all the files and you're done.

I also have the paid version.. But on titanium backup I only see the new ics apps none of my gb apps.
Found it under preferences / backup location had it auto detect and it found it on my external sd card.. Now I can restore my old apps and data!
You *could* just go into the Play store, My Apps -> Installed, and re-install everything. If you backed up with TiBU and didn't have it backup to GDrive/Dropbox/Box or an external SD - and remove the external SD when you flashed - it probably erased all the BU data.

hmmm, i think it does automagically. I have restored my apps 2-3 times and I did not have to do anything special.

Rather than making a new thread I'll post in here.
I was flashing some roms and backed up my apps at the wrong time in turn losing a lot of saved points in games and app settings. Can I just go back into one of my recent nandroid backups and copy the titanium backup files somewhere to replace the ones I don't want in my current rom? If so which ones?
The files your after are in the Titanium backup folder.

Lol this is obvious but which files do I need? There are several options in the nandroid folder like system, recovery, cache etc but their all img files? Again, I only have the files in my nandroid backup. My Titanium is setup to replace old files when a new backup is performed..
Thanks for any help in advance..

TB saves its stuff on the SD card, which is untouched by the usual Data/Cache/Dalvik wipes for a new ROM. Your most recent backups should be present no matter what.

OK lemme give some more info to help. I just got finished flashing my GB rom to replace my FR with all my settings widgets etc.. Once I had all the apps re-downloaded and thought I was ready to use titanium backup to restore all of my app data I accidentally did a backup instead, in turn REPLACING all of my original settings, saved games etc with just new games and all default bs..
So now, my ONLY option is to restore a backup I had previously when all my settings and games were where I liked them and then do another titanium backup to replace the new stuff. THEN, I have to restore my current GB nandroid to get back to my current ROM and then use titanium to restore my old stuff. The issue is finding which part of the titanium file I need from my Froyo backup to replace my GB backup.. Does that make sense lol?
I think I may figure it out but its trial and error.. I'll report back when and if I get it, just kinda sucks trying to do all this with root explorer and flashing everything over and over while at work..
If I'm doing this wrong please tell me but I am not seeing the easy way out in all of this..
You've got it right, do it just like that. Backing up / restoring Nandroids doesn't affect the SD card, but if you're paranoid you can unmount it. Restore nandroid, backup with TB, restore other nandroid, restore TB.

I uploaded my apps to dropbox because my current Nexus S broke. When I got the new one I could not restore my apps. I rooted the new phone and installed TB and DB and did this:
With Titanium Backup 3.6.4 (or above):
If your backup folder is empty, then with you can simply switch to the Schedules tab and hit the “RUN” button in the “Sync to Dropbox / Box.net / Google Drive” section to download all backups from Dropbox / Box.net / Google Drive back onto your phone.
The downloaded files show up in TB, but when I go to run all missing apps with data it says 0.
Sorry for the stupid question but I already did the searches and other than this I came up empty handed.
Just move the TitaniumBackup folder to SD. Wouldn't that be faster? Maybe something got corrupt from DB to TB.

Your backup may have been corrupted if moving to SD didn't work.
So I downloaded a few apps and tried it all over again but with less apps. Same problem. I'm doing something wrong or not the right way.

I think something must have been corrupted, because i have done the same thing repeatedly and never had any problems. I just copy the TB folder from the sd card to a new location and point TB at it. I have done this from my evo, to my nook color, to my wifes epic touch with no problems. Since i dont ever save system apps i dont worry about restoring incompatible files. Only app that ever has a problem is Swype keyboard. I have to download that one new every time...
Yeah, but everytime I do it with a new set of apps it still doesn't work.

So I learned I have to set the preferences in TB and tell it where the backup file is. Anyone else know what else I might not be doing?

Backup and restore
Using Backup&Restore Drop-box plugin on Word-press is really helpful. It has Unlimited dropbox backups, Unlimited dropbox restores, Unlimited local backups and Unlimited local restores.
Titanium Backup won't restore apps with large file sizes from my CWM backup. I forgot to take a batch backup before I installed the CMX rom by Bruce. TB restores some apps, but when it's going to restore a large app (like Temple Run or Riptide GP), The progressbar freezes. It won't go any further. I've tried to let it work for itself for about 1 hour, but the app just keeps restoring the same app it was restoring when I left the phone... Does anybody have any suggestions?
Could be your backup file is corrupt.

It has happened with my last 5 backups, too, so I think the problem lies in the app ..
Hmmm....yess.....what you say could be right.

Yep same thing here. Backed up Aralon HD, it backed up fine. But upon trying to restore it, it just says "restoring blah blah".. Forever. Also waited for around an hour like yourself, but nothing.

One method I've found that can work with some smaller apps is... after attempting to restore, clean the Dalvik... and then open Lucky Patcher, which removes any strays upon opening, automatically.
After this I've found they will install. But no luck doing this with apps that contain a large amount of data.

I found that in my case choosing the interactive install in tb showed me where the problem was, apperantly (don't know if it was tb or 4ext) there was a folder consuming an upwards of 500mb of data on my internal partition called ._cwm_restore I'm sure its not the same thing happening to everyone but its one thing that has a happened to me
Hello everyone, I restored the first backup of my LG-P999 through cwm to stock. I had already installed titanium backup after rooting my phone and before flashing roms. And now that I am back on this stock rom none of the apps i used to have running cm7 will show up in titanium backup. Is there a folder I could extract from my cm7 backup to get them all back? Also just curious because I will be getting a new phone soon and how I am going to get all my apps back.
Thanks in advance

In titanium under preferences go to backup folder location it has an option to automatically locate a backup folder or if you know where it is you can find it. Cm7 uses sdcard as primary storage, stock uses internal so it confuses titanium.

OK so I am quite new to the rooting and restoring side of titanium backup. I have installed a new ROM and re-downloaded TB. When I go in to the restore part of TB nothing showed up for back ups. If I go into my file explorer I can see the TB folder and all of the .zip files for each app. I have put the folder on my SD and on my Internal memory and still nothing showes up to restore. PLEASE PLEASE HELP I can not find anything on my issue and don't know where to go from here. Thanks in advance!

I expect you just need to go into TB's settings/preferences and set the folder to where your backups are.
