Okay, I've had this problems for quite some time now.
Whenever I use ANY ICS ROM, the camera doesn't show the pics which were clicked using flash and the videos have length 00:00...
Also, in the weather app, there are no animations coming just in the app...
Even in GB ROMs, the videos have length 00:00...
PLEASE help me I really don't know what to do !!??!!

This tells me that it's possible to get 30FPS out of this phone. Mine is only recording at 21fps according to Windows.
Will using one of khalpowers' ROMs fix my camcorder app?
I've tried the lgcamera app and I still get only 21FPS.
If any of you have any insight into this I would really appreciate it.
So I installed khalpowers' camera update and things seem smoother now, but I don't get 30fps. In Fraps I'm getting between 21fps and 24fps. It's better than it was before, but still not quite as smooth as I would like. The shutter lag in the camera is also better after the update.
Is this phone even capable of 30fps at 720p? The specs seem to say it can only do 24fps.
It can only do 24 FPS.
try khals video settings in lgcamerapro app. it allows for recording in 30fps.

It turns out that the FPS thing is really difficult to evaluate. This is because the phone records variable bit rate. The actual rate recorded seems to depend on how much light is hits the camera sensor (i.e. brighter scenes get higher framerates and darker scenes get lower framerates which makes sense to me).
To make things even more confusing the file contains a number as a "guesstimate" of the frame rate. This guesstimate is what most programs show. Unfortunately, the guesstimate seems to be incorrect most of the time. IIRC the only thing we found that seemed to show us the actual framerate was Windows Media Player in Windows 7.

Even with lgcamera and khal's settings, the files are still not 30fps. Even watching his sample videos, they don't look any smoother than what I'm getting with his "fix" installed on the default camcorder app.
Anyhow, I can live with 24fps. I just wanted to know if 30fps was possible, and it seems as though it's not.

Perhaps khal can chime in and confirm that his files are indeed 30fps. IMO Fraps is a good way to verify it.
Higher rate on xt just 24fps.....that video from eclair..now can produce better than that with airplane mode ..
So............... does we have Camupdate on StealEpicBlue or not?

I have a problem with the camera and video hardware to all custom firmware which are based on cyanogenmod kernel. Camera work but does not move and hardware video on player don*t move. On firmware are based on stock all right work. I've tried everything hboot and recovery but result is the same. Install Miui 2.1.6.08 then install kernel UNITY_V9_2.6.35.14 is the only variant when camera well works but hardware video does not work at all. I hope to help developers!

I've got this very same issue. I was on MIUI 1.12.30 and on Lowveld's Reaper v1.1, both really good ROMs but for some reason, the camera preview window freezes after a couple of seconds. pictures come out ok though. same thing when playing videos either through a browser or even a local video file saved in the sd card, the video playback would freeze after a couple of seconds but the audio is normal.
if viewing video camera captured in program mode it shows normally but the problem remains
If viewing video touch on the screen then video moves and camera too

i have got the same problem here.
tried to use Reaper 3.0 but got the camera problem.
miui,endymion and blindice works well with the camera on my DS.
i got hboot 2.00.0002, sense 3.0 and S-ON
the app "pudding camera" works for me as a half solution, since it only takes pictures and no video, but the camera is working with this app.

I am on reaper v3 and my camera and videocamera are working.
UNfortunately i just don't get the same good pics as with sense roms.
It's a real shame, as i take many pictures and at the same time i couldnt live without reaper rom. it's just perfect, apart from the camera thing.
im using lg camera and sometimes get better results, but in low light the noise is really unbearable. tried different settings of iso and stuff but nothing.
i dont know about developing, so sorry is the question is dumb but using a different kernel would help?
Hello everybody, I'm having problems with animations and camera which are as follows
I'm currently using Android Revolution 3.6.13 (Sense 3.0 gingerbread 2.3.5) and I have been experiencing problems with animations and camera.
The camera problem is that after I shoot videos, I am not able to play them, a msg comes up "Sorry, this video cannot be played". When I look into the details of the video, a specific file size is there but the length of the video is 00:00. Also earlier I was using ICS ROMs and the camcorder problem was there, as well as whenever I clicked a picture with flash, I could not view it in the gallery.
The animation problem is specifically in the weather app, that it doesn't show the animations when I go into the app, but in the home screen widget, the animations are there as well as in the weather lockscreen. This problem I've experienced with both Gingerbread and ICS ROMs.
Please help me, please !!
Maybe it's just me and it's a my phone issue but ever since i have started to root and build for my phone and download news roms i've noticed that the regular gallery does't have the animated thumnails anymore. I know it's minor but i just wanted to know if any of you have noticed that also and or know how to get it back animated.
I don't recall stock Gallery ever having moving thumbnails. I'm not saying it didn't but the only place I've seen that is in the Video Player on Touchwiz and Touchwiz roms. My thumbnails for recorded video and video on my sd card animate just fine. That doesn't happen in my Gallery app but it works fine in my Video Player. I'm currently on CleanRom 2.1
yea that's what i was saying my gallery and everything else works fine it's just it doesn't animate the thumbnails of videos like it used to, maybe i'm just overlooking something but if you any review of this phone completely stock you'll see what I'm talking about just in case you don't remember it.
OK I have Moar ROM installed and today I wanted to record in slow motion but its glotched out like it will record it and it will be low quality and instead of being slow motion it gets all like frame by frame its hard to explain I wanna ask if I can have a camera apk file of ne5 original because I remembered reading moar has a modified camera so I wanna text that using an original one to see if it works can anyone help and if u don't get me ask me and I'll explain
