It's a pre-alpha - I doubt camera would be working at this point anyway, so green-lensed Defy users, who are impatient to test it, can flash it too.

Wow I see how powerful the whole thing is now.
You can set whether you want Phone UI or Tablet UI and the DPI size you want for each app. So I can have regular phone interface with my usual statusbar but can set the browser to use the tablet interface with tab bar!
Also here's a thread compiling Themes, Mods and Guides for Paranoid Android (including how to get Apex Launcher to work):

Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM9 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM9 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.
Note: You can upgrade from arco's CM9 and vice versa.

BLN feature recap:
It is activable/deactivable from Settings->Displays->Notification Light
Its timer is adjsutable from Settings->Device->Advanced
The timer settings is 1.6 seconds by default, i advice not to set it to infinite because whenever the light of keypad is turned on, the phone can't go in deep sleep.
There is no blinking support in it at this time, this is a raw porting of BLN for i9000.

i have a little bug. i had it at build 6+patch 720. video from frontcam is upside down.preview is ok,but it saves upside down. i've wiped system, data, cache, dalvik. installed your rom.wipe data, cache, dalvik, fix permissions.installed gapps.wipe data, cache, dalvik, fix permissions. what can be cause of this bug?
thanks for your work)
flashed it. one word simply awesome. everything works. only one bug i experienced with camera is that it still crashes after 5 photos. but its no big deal. this thing is super fluid. welcome cyanogenmod9 beta.
Woooaw maaan!!! This is grat!! I waited long but totally worth it! A great CM9 rom, with working camera (which is not upside down, quite fast, not fcs after every launch, WORKING 720P RECORDING YEAH WITH NORMAL PLAYBACK AND SOUND!!) I think I'll keep this as my daily rom (if it has a good battery drain). So long work behind this project, and now, you have (i think) reached the top, now, I think we can say, we have a fully functioning (FM radio - who cares) CM9 with working camera and 720p recording!! A hundreds of thanks for you, and the others (acro, oisis, and so on) who helped this project, and didn't let it to die!
@tomjadon,
yes cm9 ist very nice on the i9001, but there are still some bugs like, wifi tethering, usb tethering, data roaming etc. so i think it could be beta. Since Alpha 6 from arco, it runs very smooth.

wifi and usb tethering not working?
So I be wait for other relations, abuot ex. battery drian. Arco rom is really god on this feature, but i think if your rom is based arco rom, battery drain will be the same. Great work ivendor - respect for you work.
any 1 checked deep sleep & in call volume ...
As for now, the little bugs i see are In-Call Volume still not working and 5 pictures crash. Thank you for your work! I can finally use this ROM as my daily OS.
BTW - ivendor, this is some chance to create a patch with camera, for non ivendor based roms, like arco rom? That's can help other developers to finish their work.

wifi tethering only without any encryption, and usb tethering only with an extra app. So i use bluetooth tethering, that works perfekt.

arco will release it soon, i use arco alpha 6 with camtest2 and it works great, only front cam is upside down, i think arco will correct it soon. The alpha 6 is great work. And that the cam works is awesome, too.
in call volume doesnt work??? it should work, in build 5 from arco, it works
What about zooming in camera?

Will someone please confirm in-call voume change isnt working?
Hi everyone, i'm back again.
This ROM is based on my previous CM9 rom and arco's work for Galaxy W device. Arco will not release CM10 for our device, so i'll continue his work and improve CM10 for our phone.
From alpha 7 it's based on CAF kernel jellybean branch (big thanks to arco for his work). The versions below alpha 7 are based on the same ICS kernel 2.6.35 used in CM9.
What's working:
Audio
Receiving and making calls
GPS
Compass
Proximity sensor
Wifi
Bluetooth
USB mass storage
HW accelerated gui
HW accelerated video
Camera
BLN
USB/Wifi tethering
VSync
USB OTG (Experimntal support)
Partially working:

Before you install CM10: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)
Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.
Install
Use CWM5 or CWM6. 2013-04-08 UPDATE!!! new 6.0.2.8 with safe kernel 2.6 (no EMMC bug) and sideload support!

Only the devices with EMMC data partition broken, starting from Release 2 can use specific patch released along with the ROM to boot successfully. The patch must be applied after the main ROM upgrade and needs an external sd with second partition of type ext4 used as replacement for broken data one. Make sure this partition is big enough (At least, 1.5 GB it's suggested). It also means that those devices cannot use OTA Update for installing ROM newer versions because it doesn't install the patch needed.

After rebooting, it takes one or two minutes for the phone to connect to my carrier and get some signal. When I was using cm9 built by you, the phone had the same behavior (which I thought was normal). however, I changed to arco's cm9 a couple weeks back and with it, after entering the PIN, it would take at most a couple seconds to acquire some signal.
I'm not sure if it's related, but my carrier uses national roaming to provide its services.
also, this happened with at least rc3/4/5 of cm9, the others idk.
thanks in advance. so far the rom is great.

Actually, turning this on lowers CPU usage because its the GPU that renders, so it might even be beneficial for the battery,,,

[ETA's]& What´s working Questions for every ROM & CM | Please post not in DEV thread
I´ve started this thread because same question have been asking periodly in dev thread. that´s not the right place. The Devs are working and do a excellent Job. Don´t bugging them with what´s working and when will it working questions.
Things about CM should be discussed here. And even if bugs will be found they should be reported to DEV thread
i´ll add new working things immediately. dev´s please correct me. hope this helps to keep dev thread clean.
I´ve decided to post this in general section because I think the most people look here. If you find it have to be in Q+A Section tell and I will contact moderator to transfer
Please correct me if i´m wrong in something

Problem:
You can connect to the internet because of no mobile data connection because no APN is set
Solution:
For the most people it should help to turn airplane mode on and then off. In some cases this isn't enough. Maybe you have to let you send a configuration sms from your provider or you have to
configure APN manually. After that try turn airplane mode on -> off again. Maybe you have to reboot and airplane on off again. For me i have to turn airplane mode on and off again after every reboot. First APN setting is not shown. Airplanemode on -> off they appear und 3G connects automatically. One or two times 3G won't reconnect after long time using wifi. I recommend to take a tool like WifiFixer free. It connects periodly to 3G while using wifi.

[Problem:
Your device is not recognized when you plugged it to your pc to transfer files.
Solution:
Go to settings -> storage. Press menu button -> select USB PC connection. Then change from MTP to mass storage. Device should be recognized and you can transfer files.

Problem:
sometimes when you have unfolded the notification drawer completely, it "sticks" at the end, when trying to swipe it up again, sometimes i have to try it 4 or 5 times before it goes up again, i think this is just a
touch screen sensitivity problem.
Solution:
no solution yet

Problem:
some people say that not every setting is available yet (in the settings) they say somethings are missing from the original CM. dont know exactly what it was. just thought i mention it.
Solution:
just chill and wait until everything from the things you think they aren't there has been implemented

Problem:
You want to use a custom kernel like cocore or thunderzap?
Solution:
It won't work!!!! No custom kernel for cm until now

Why is it the name of cm10 is UNOFFICIAL?is it because of still not stable or because of it is not build from novathor chipset sources?
Sent from my GT-I9070
Lol. There is no CM for us. Our respected dev's had to develop it by themselves. So it's unofficial...
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda premium
It may become official after (nearly) everything was fixed and shaan gives it to the cyanogenmod team... but as long as it hasn't been reviewed by them it will stay unofficial

great news again
he told that he has possibly a fix for vibrating issue. but he has to test it first. the cm development is getting near by daily use and beta 2
happy day for us all. if itś complete we have the opinion to get much custom roms. great day. thanks
new infos from frapeti
things that need to be fix for next beta stage
they just want camera to work on their phones, if you don't override anything you will just end with a little more used system space and it will be cleaned up when they flash the next build, it's nice to remember that the camera HAL is fixed thanks to jerpelea and OliverG96, and their patches are being carefully merged with the actual cm source by diego, I mean, give the proper credits to them because most people here doesn't know those facts indeed.
facts: blobs still being added
todo (for a real beta stage):
- OMX Codecs (it will fix video recording and video player)
- Microphone in 3d party apps
- Compass sensor
- Improve GPS performance
- Fix vibrator driver
- Fix vsync issue (hwcomposer)
to get camery fixed copy /system/lib from stock rom to cm. don't overwrite files
