There's a setting in build prop. Make it lower.
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval

are you talking about the range by which your phone can reach a signal? not that I know - I think it's a hardware limitation. but I would be interested to see if there is one...

I know this is in MIUI. But when I had the vibrant all the roms had the option to turn data off when u hold down the power button along with the reboots. And it is an awesome feature. With battery life on this phone being so so turning data off when not using the phone is awesome.
And please no one suggest airplane mode as I can't get messages or calls and the apps made for it on the market are still using battery. Please devs. Thanks

OG,
GGGGRRRRRRRRRR
so my phone has an unknown phone number. does anyone know how to change this?
I'm not sure how exactly, but it doesn't affect anything. A few other roms do this. There's no need to change it.

Yeah it doesn't matter but it's under settings - call settings - additional settings.

Actually, some have reported issues with wifi calling until they input their number.

It does if your using stock messaging. You can't see your pic

It has quite a bit to do with things I've noticed, especially the issue with wifi calling, and as mentioned the picture in stock messaging app.

Well, I for one haven't had any problems with this, or wifi calling.

Maybe you can try boosting your router. There are some good articles on Lifehacker about the subject.

Yea that's a router problem

It also depends on captivate baseband firmware. Try flashing JVT or JVU versions.
Baseband has nothing to do with WiFi.
its peanut butter jelly(bean) time

I agree. if your router has an antenna jack, pick one up on ebay or elsewhere for < $10. I did that with a zyzel router and I got an extra 50 feet at g speed in my back yard. I put the antenna on top of a bookshelf.

I'm just curious, if a phone is reported lost/stolen can it still be used by someone else? Or is it somehow deactivated?

Once it's on the black list (reported stolen), it's useless.

Yes it can still be "used" but on a network is a different story. If the ESN is reported to the original carrier though, it would be shut-off from authenticating on that network.

I got some tips in the hell fire Phoenix 2.3 thread. I've been back and forth either cpu tweaker as well and I've read some folks believe it's better.
I have no idea if any of this really helps phone stability, but it controls cpu to some extent depending on kernel.

The battery you save is miniscule, that and the increased frequency of SOD means you have no net gain.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Agreed - better to try different kernels and find which one works best with your phone.

It will however make your device run much cooler.
