I believe you are thinking of CM9 which is a custom rom that has the ability to download themes, like a pink theme, for it in the Google Play Market. LINK to CM9 there are plenty more roms like this too.
There are also gingerbread roms, that have pre-made themes (I believe ZEUS had a pink one)
Check THIS thread out first, it has all the info you will need to better understand modding your Infuse.
Since you have red Clockworkmod (CWM) you will need to download the "rom" zip file and put it on your phone's internal sdcard.
To use CWM you must power down the phone and hold both VOL keys AND POWER key at the same time. The phone will boot to the "samsung" screen, keep holding until the second samsung screen, then release the keys. (If done right you are now in cwm)
This is where you install the rom.
For further instructions refer to the linked rom thread which has always been my go-to selection for showing beginners how to flash a rom, just scroll down to the install instruction part. LINK
Now if you are going to flash CM9 it will take a double flash in CWM. (Once to get blue CWM and the second flash to get the rom) I know I'm probably speaking spanglish right now, but you just need to read through those links, take your time, and when you are ready, flash away.

Ok those are themes, and the easiest way to apply them is to go to one off the ics Rom pages in development thread that have theme chooser follow the instructions then go to my thread here

And follow the instructions there and there you go

I know I sound completely stupid, but I'm sooo lost.
I just switch from iOS (iPhone 4) to the Infuse 4G.
To install themes and stuf on the Infuse, do you need to do that "root" thing?
I want this theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122709
If the process is hard can someone link me to a video or just tell me or something?
Sorry I have nooo idea how. I've tried to search and everything.
Thanks in advance.
Yes you have to be rooted! download the zip file put it on your sd card somewhere where you will find it and go into recovery mode and flash it make sure its a theme for the infuse not just some random theme lol if not you might have to re-flash your rom. It also will be some time before we start seeing many themes for the infuse bummer but yeah. If you dont know what recovery mode is google it and also google how to install recovery mode on infuse but its easy just download rom manager there are many hints how to do everything juts search the forum but before you do anything ROOT it
Yes, Matted Blue is for the Infused ROM, which means you need to root your device (search for InfuseUnlockRoot or SuperOneClick on the forums) and then flash Infused (again search for it in the forums), and then install the theme.
They all have instructions on how to use them in their respective threads. And search is your friend.

Yes, you have to be rooted but don't rush into it. Read, Read, Read. Understand what you're doing AFTER you decide what you want to do. If you don't take it slow, you might mess something up and you will be right back here asking for help because your phone won't boot.
Search the forums. Whatever you find will probably take you somewhere else...then read that too. Really, if you say you have searched...then you haven't searched enough.
Has anyone successfully cooked on Swift Star??? I am super familiar with UOT KITCHEN and for some reason every time I try to flash it goes through says its applying the framework but the end result is always a bootloop...I have used the kitchen on virtually every other rom with no issues Im super confused
is like he said you have to put the zip on the the clockwork/backup on your sd card then reboot into recovery full data wipe and cache wipe then go to restore and choose the zip file there enjoy !!

this post makes no sense. you don't seem to understand the OP or know what you're talking about (you don't install zip files through the restore function in cwm).
to the original poster, I have only used the UOT Kitchen to customize the boot animation on my Swift star ROM but it worked fine for me. Maybe try changing one category (like just battery icons or fonts) at a time and see if you can get any further.
Good luck
hmm ok thats a good idea.Ill give it a go and see if that works. Thanks for your post..hopefully I dont get another boot loop..I heard others getting boot loops as well I will post my results as soon as I cook and flash again.
Same result..Stupid Boot loop..If anyone could give me the details of what they are doing different to get it to work I would appreciate it..its frustrating to say the least...

well i was talking to androidDude21 about why he got a boot loop u seem not to understand his question , thats how you intall that rom he is asking about ok
Sorry eko7 but i think he already has installed the ROM and just needs to know why when he alters it with UOT kitchen he is getting boot loops. Didn't mean to offend. I admit I came off sounding like an ass.
androiddude- I just tried changing the battery icon with UOT kitchen on my swift ROM and also got the boot loop. wish I was savvy enough to debug the issue. Let us all know if you make any progress. I would really like a battery icon that also shows the % of charge in this ROM.
Running out of Ideas
Yeah I definitely already installed the rom..lol I dunno how that was even in question...not to be rude.. but yeah I have tried numerous times the only thing I can think of is maybe I have to upload the touchwiz files too even though I dont use it..its a long shot but when someone asked about it the Dev said that any mods can be made in UOT kitchen..Unfortunately I don't have enough posts to post a direct question to the Dev in that forum . I like Swift Star a lot but at this point I might just give weapon 2.6 a go because I know you can definitely take that to the kitchen..Its a shame though cuz I really Like this Rom.
ok sorry im new at this but im learning sorry i dont speak all that geeky language lol but my question is are ya tryna customize the rom you own way right??

yeah basically i just wanted my overscroll glow to be blue, change my download bar and loading icon to blue as well to match the rom but every time I try even one at a time I run into a bootloop so I PM'd the Developer hopefully he gets back to me and ill post what he says..
I have a Droid Charge and two days ago I used ODIN 1.82 to install "[email protected]" (Tweaked v2 ROM); however, I just noticed there is an update "[email protected]" which has a couple of folders and not md5 (META -INF and system).
I am a newbie but it was not difficult to used ODIN to install the original md5 file; however, I am stuck trying to install the update. Any tips what tools to use of where I can have the instructions to install the update "[email protected]"?
Thanks.
BTW I have not had any problem so far using the original ROM.

You can flash it in CWM. Also you can get the same update by installing the black and blue theme in tweaktools.

There is a lot of information in the first 3 posts in the Tweaked 2.0 thread that you should read. 3rd post is where you'll find how to use tweaktools. A lot of android phones use CWM and something you should learn. There are a lot of youtube videos that maybe better to watch then trying to read about it.

It took me a while but this is what I have unsuccessfully done:
Downloaded the upgrade for CWM “[email protected]” then I checked its MD5 was correct A2B101E9556BB2BD59F226E25E87D1F6
Placed the above file on my SD card
On my Droid Charge I pressed the POWER button and from the choices I selected RECOVERY
My phone rebooted into:
Android system Recovery (3e)
enter: OK Key. Select: Vol UP / Vol Down
reboot system now
apply update from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe catch partition
checking confirmation -> check (0)
Not need checksum confirmation
already executed!!...
--movi_checking done!...
# MANUAL MODE #
From the above choices I use Vol UP / Vol Down to select “apply update from sdcard”, then pressed the HOME key
Screen changed to:
Android system Recovery (3e)
Choose a package to install:
/mnt/sdcard
../
'[email protected]'
I used the Vol UP / Vol Down, selected the zip file and pressed the HOME key A yellow triangle with an exclamation mark and a green droid icon appeared on the screen. A few seconds later the screen flashed up
I pressed the MENU key and underneath the same caption showed in step (4) above, it was displayed:
-- Install /mnt/sdcard …
Finding update package …
Opening update package
Verifying update package …
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted
Therefore, I had no other choice to reboot my phone and to come back to the original Tweaked 2.0 release (4.10), which I continue using.
Did I do anything wrong? Please advise.
Thanks

I guess I'm done.
I searched and downloaded "0817_charge_recovery.tar.md5" and installed using ODIN as you suggested (I dunno is this is the last CWM release)
Then I i booted into the CWM by pressing the key combination you suggested
Then I selected the "[email protected]" file
let the install go and then rebooted
I do not what were the changes between the original built and this latest update but anyway, I'm learning; therefore, I will appreciate any other tips.
Thanks again!

Kind of harsh but I have to agree. No matter how much people say not to use a theme for a different ROM, some idiot says that it works and then people start asking if X theme will work on Y ROM... JUST DON'T DO IT MOST LIKELY IT WILL CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS...

You do realize that on the left-side of the page it shows how many times a user has posted...right?
So let's analyze the situation. That person had posted 1 time. And since you were responding to one of his posts, logic would suggest that that was his first post on here. So "do you make posts like this on purpose?" yes. I'm guessing that he purposefully made his first post on purpose.
Now I know that you have a whopping 37 posts to your name, but you should be a little nicer to the new guys b/c chances are they 1) haven't read every post on here and 2) they came to a forum thinking they could ask questions (I know, such a radical concept isn't it). and 3) they probably didn't realize that the theme was the same from 1.4 to 2.0 hence why they asked the question. </rant>

Did your install of Tweaked2.0 go well?
If not, I was having problems (it would get stuck on the SAMSUNG screen) until I used ODIN to put CWM on there (like you did) but before I flashed the Tweaked2.0 zip file, I had to go to Mounts (in CWM) and tell it to mount /system (after you do that it should then say "unmount /system" where before it simply said "mount system").
Good luck and enjoy!
lol, silly lane, adding fuel to a fire for no reason. It's ok man, it really is. a whopping 37 posts means nothing because there is no count for the amount of threads that you read. that's the important issue here friend, reading. You don't need an account to read the forums. For all you or anyone else knows he comes from a forum where asking stupid questions is allowed. Granted the mods let it happen here too, but they shouldn't.
But yes, thank you for taking the time to analyze the situation that you weren't part of to begin with. Next time, keep it to pm if you have a problem with what I said, thanks.

An alias! ah ha!
I only pop back over to these forums every now and again but I wanted to see what fun stuff was posted here. And anyways, there are nicer ways of telling the newbs how to browse the forums.
Some people are too quick to ask questions before reading, but you see that on a lot of threads. And at least he wasn't asking something crazy stupid like "I just flashed an HTC rom on my Motorola Droid and I know I'm in the wrong forum but could you help me..."

Actually I did. These are the steps I went through:
I used ODIN to go back to the original Verizon ROM my phone had (stock) and then let the phone to update itself (OTA).
Once I got my phone back to "original" I use ODIN to install the latest CWM (Clockwork Recovery Mod) 0302_charge_recovery.tar.md5 which gave me version v5.0.1.7 ( I do not understand why different numbers under the same version).
Once I installed CWM, I did not know what to do with it. I just read somewhere else that I had to have that installed, so I did.
Then as a final step I use again ODIN to install the latest Tweaked v2 ROM “[email protected]”
As of now I am testing the new built. One thing that annoyed me was that there were 22 applications under the Applications menu; they were disorganized in four panes (or windows) so I had to manually rearranged them in alphabetical order, and after that I got rid off two panes, fitting 16 apps per pane/window.
Other than that, I'll continue using the new ROM.

Question about physical buttons not lighting up
In order to limit thread creation I'm hijacking this one due to the general title.
After flashing TWO Charge's with Tweaked 2.0 the row of physical buttons no longer light up. I flashed one back to EP4D (which made them light up again) and then back to Tweaked (which borked them again) already to see what would happen.
Is this part of the tweaks to disable them lighting up? Is there somewhere I can go modify a script and have them light up again?
Thanks
(I'm a Chemical Engineer, I can do anything with cars but when it comes to anything past Odin and CWM, my nerdiness is superceded by this forum. )

This is due to the BLN mod that is included in the rom. See the link below for more info on what BLN does.
It can be disabled through tweaktools if you'd rather have the key backlights act normally (CWM Modifications->BLNModOff)

Thank you, that's exactly what I was looking for.
But my god finding what TweakTools is and how to enter it was difficult. You can't forget that noobs have no idea about some things so it would have been nice to get a link to tonsit's site or a brief explanation of Terminal Emulator, or something. But then again that's not as satisfying as searching on your own.

yeah, ROM Manager is a bad thing when it comes to our phone.
ODIN does not put your phone in download mode. There are numerous ways to accomplish that and those are outlined in a few different posts here as well as the wiki.
Do you know if you were on Froyo or Gingerbread before you tried to flash something? Also, what ROM did you try to flash? Going from Froyo to Gingerbread, and vice versa, requires you to flash the proper boot loaders.
I suggest checking out Lumin30's [GUIDES] Fresh out of box Galaxy S 4G [SOLVED] | Heimdall One-Click For Dummies. Awesome guides and they should get you back to a working status.

No one is gonna spoon feed this to you. this is about development and learning. if you are too lazy to spend time and learn than this is probably too much for you and you should stay stock. people stop thinking rom flashing is the 'in thing' to do because you have an android phone and you googled 'cool hacks for android'

-(optional) Backup your apps using Titanium Backup.(this only applies once you have root)
-Create a backup of your current ROM using rom manager.(this only applies once you have root)
-Boot your phone into recovery using either rom manager, or by booting into h-boot (to do this you are going to need to turn fastboot off by going to settings>applications>uncheck fast boot, then turn your phone off and turn it back on pressing both power+volume down, until the h-boot menu appears. Use the volume buttons to scroll down to recovery then press power to select.)
-Using the volume buttons scroll down to to down to wipe data/factory reset. (unless you are upgrading, THIS STEP IS NOT OPTIONAL!)
-Press the power button to select.
-Use the volume buttons to scroll down to YES-- delete all user data, use the power button to select.
-Scroll down to Advanced press power to select.
-Scroll to Wipe Dalvik Cache press power to select.
-Go down to Yes-- Wipe Dalvik Cache use the power button to select.

Things to note:
-Your first boot might take a few minutes do to deodexing and zip align.
-If your phone keeps cycling the HTC (white screen) you are going to need to go back to recovery, do a full wipe, and reflash the rom.
-Be sure to read the devs full instructions and faq before flashing!

Why are you people so mean? I started by saying I read a lot! I DID READ and after reading it became overwhelming. I am sorry that the first few of you were bothered by my post. It probably would have been better served if you simply had not said anything. Try helping next time and not being so rude.
Reinaldo33897Thank you. This has focused me in on one area, this is all I needed. My gus=ess is you use this phone. I have had this since ne from AT&T expecting Android 4.0 to be available for the phone (or so the salesrep then said it would) In your opnion, what is the best,or the one, that you are using?
Thank you

FORUM RULES
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.
You agreed with the rules when u signed in. You come in here asking things that were answered many times. This is a development site and not Android 101. So, before whinning just check the rules and the threads. You might suprised of the power of the search buttom.
Besides, if you are overwhelmed by reading, how are you going to be if something goes wrong and u mess your phone? That is why u need to read...to be sure what u are about to. I was a noob (actually still am), but learnt to read and search...and take enough time to learn what to do and how....just a piece of advise....:good:

There are some really great roms out there. We can also use the desire HD roms as well so we are not limited to just the inspire devs. If you want to try an awesome ICS rom give IceColdSandwich 8.1.1 a shot ver at DesireHD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450962
Just one thing ICS is not officially released so the customs have a few bugs one being video cam not working but until the official release is out for the devs to gt the source codes we have to deal with it if we want ICS now. Gingerbread roms are solid.
There is also aospx here by exists as wll as roms Redemption and Melchizedek but these are No Sense ICS roms.
If you want to stick with sense try Android Revolution 9.04 as well as Coredroid they are very solid Gingerbread roms.
Once you learn to flash roms and feel comfortable with it try a few on for size and see what works best for you. What may be great with one person may be totally hated by another. Flashing is simple and cant really hurt once you feel comfortable.
Just one WARNING flashing radios are dangerous waters with the psibility of bricking the phone I would truly learn and learn more before you attempt that game. I dont bother cause radios are based on your region and where your located. Even if a dev says his rom works best with so-so radio I dont bother cause the dev may be in another country and Im in USA and the radio may not work. Tried it and got crap for service so now I stick with the stock radio that came with phone. Well sorry to write a book but enjoy we are here to help each other and the worse thing I hate is seeing someone turn their $400 into a paperweight.
Allow me to provide some input here ...

10. Help others if you can.
If you see posts from others where you can help out, please do. This place exists because people are helping each other, and even if you are relatively new to the matter, there's probably already quite a few people newer than you that would benefit from what you've learned. Don't be shy.

The better lot I saw replying here are senior members, and as such I actually expect you guys to behave and act as such. If a question from someone who's entirely new to the matter - even if the answer can be found by searching - doesn't sit too well with you then either don't reply at all OR try to be helpful by pointing her/him into the right direction.
Consider this a "wiggly finger" with no further consequences.
Thank you for your attention.
I know it's confusing even for people like me who has been here to find a proper guide to install a (custom) ROM! I am assuming you do want to install a custom ROM! Basic steps are below:
First and foremost is to Root and S-off your device
You also will need a recovery. I use 4ext, and it works wonderful
Then go to the custom ROM you like, download and look for installation instructions
Put the zip file in the root of the SD card
Once you install recovery, then reboot to recovery and pick install from zip, and pick the custom ROM zip file you put at the root of your SD card
Also read through WIKI http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Desire_HD, although some information is old, it do have lot of resources.
BTW, there is no such thing as best custom ROM, it all depends on what apps you use with and where you live. Best bet is to flash a ROM a day, and see what you like! Good luck.

The information was greatly appreciated. I have moved on and flashed. I did in fact only get it done today.... So even w/ excellent info, reading WAS still important. It is a nerve-racking endeavor but the end result is great

LoL...yes it sure is...I have bricked a phone while flashing...so always unlocking scares me, even now after many many htc devices!
Kellsizzle88, did everything work out? Is your phone still working well?

I've read a lot within the HTC inspire section, and from there I've rooted the phone (I see I have super user in my drawer) but from here I'm looking for a sense 4.0 ROM that I can install. The instructions are very overwhelming. Is there someone who could please give me easy instructions on how to install a ROM? Thank you.
