I second that
On a side note, in adam's Axura 2.4 ROM, the stock music player is replaced by MIUI music player, which is so much better, sleek look, automatic cover art and auto-scrolling lyric (also automatically downloaded)
I agree the miui rom is looking mighty fine. And the fact that it runs lighting fast with all the features I really hope that there will be a build for captivate.
I went to their site the other day - didn't see any work being done to port it... yet.
It looks retarded as hell - in a good way

This can only be a benefit! The dev's that have worked it so far have done an awesome job. I know that they have said they are going to stop working the beta since Miui is starting up on the Galaxy S.
I plan to send over five maybe ten dollars to help the cause! Who's with me?

[Wish/idea] All major Captivate ROM devs unite!

Just looking for a public opinion on this idea. What if the major devs that we all know and love teamed up? The thought to me makes me wetter than a water buffalo. I wonder what the rom capabilitys would be like? Would it solve this pandemic sweeping the xda community known as "flash addict"? Are there devs willing to team up? whats your ideas?

devs colaborate all the time. the reason for so many roms is that different users have differnt wants and needs that conflict and different devs have different ideal on how it should be done.
flash addiction will not be solved by a better rom.
it is imposible to satisfy everyone. you can combine all the popular apps and launchers into one rom but if a user wants light weight that will not meet that users criteria.
that said there have also been teams that do very good work. team komin did amazing work on andromeda. the rom and kernel were both very good. unforunately they are sticking to the i9010 sources and have fallen behind in os version. i wish they would do an alternate rom based on i9000 sources, so we could get gingerbread at that quality.
Agree with above. A big reason devs make roms is for themselves. They add the features they want as well as accepting input from the community.

Upgraded from an Infuse (that I was mostly happy with except for some app freezing) to a white Skyrocket on Sat. Absolutely loving the phone so far... not sure how I feel about the fact that a Skyrocket HD is coming... but I'll cross that bridge when that device gets released. So far I have no problems the screen resolution.

Hi guys,
why do you need to root it and what's the bright side of it?

[Q] Fancy rotation animation on Skyrocket?

Hi,
I wonder if the fancy rotation animation from 1.5 could be ported to Skyrocket.
I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it!
I know that Samsung has incorporated this feature onto the Galaxy Note, but is there anyway to get it this feature onto the Skyrocket? Either port it from 1.5 Cupcake or port it from the Note?
Would really love this feature to show off to my friends!
Its ics screen rotation effect. Would be great to port it from cm9 once will be attended here.

I've seen this effect on the Galaxy S II before on youtube. There is a thread on xda explaining how to do it.
However, I went ahead and tried it without success. I soft-bricked my beloved skyrocket. I managed to get my phone running again though.
I wonder if it was a mistake on my part or it just doesn't work at all.
Would anybody want to try it? :O

Oh that's really awesome! All my buds with iphones keep bugging me about looks. They say "Oh, your phone's faster, but it's ugly."
HA, what do they know. Skyrocket is an amazing piece of tech produced by Samsung boasting an amazing piece of software (Besides touchwiz).
Looking forward to sean posting a tut on how to get the animation! Any ETA? LOL

Why do you think the sgs4g needs to get ics? My phone is fast got extremely great battery life and tons of other things. Do you just want ics so you could have the latest android flavor or do you think or know it will make our phones that much better. I'm not trying to be a smartass just curious why ppl are this rilled up about ics.
I think the only reason is because "others have it".
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Great words blazen you know maybe ics has some quiet interesting features but our developers make than our phone from crappy to gingerbread better than ics that is one the reasons I want to start developing because I feel that I got skills to make some good stuff for the phone ( like themes and guides only things that i have finished) and other reason is because here our developers are way better than samsungs horrible costumer service....anyway every sgs4g user most appreciete the developers work even if the projects are not finished like ics port and aosp port because that makes people more happy and they know that there works are awesome

I believe that most want it because it is the newest OS and most believe it will be an improvement, much like GB compared to Froyo... Which is understandable considering the developers here are going full bore in a attempt to port ICS.
Being one of those that was satisfied with froyo, I have to admit I am even more satisfied with GB... But as for your question, I personally hope that it is released for our phone because if it is, so to would the source be released (just imagine what the developers could accomplish with it).
Just my 2 cents in the well.

You do realize that's a post from someone in the forums right? No word from Samsung USA. You cannot depend on what a customer service rep says, they sit behind the computer all day and still do not know a thing about the products they are supposed to be supporting. They are just trying to shut us up about it already. If the OG galaxy s gets just a value pack, it'd be hard to imagine them bending backwards to give us full ICS

If I am not mistaken the T-Mobile version is the same as the Telus S2 in Canada. If it is I would not be in any hurry to upgrade to ICS. My own experience and experience of others as reported on the Howardforums has not been stellar. Problems with apps freezing and battery life going in the toilet are common. Looks great, just doesn't work very well. I would hold off until these issues are addressed. I usually always wait to do an update until I here some feedback but this time I jumped in and am now regretting it.
Just a word to the wise
