Samsung Galaxy Q issue. - General Topics

Hi,
A few days ago my 1 month old (got the phone and service back on June 8 so just a small bit over 1 month old) Samsung Galaxy Q stopped working. I had to turn it off and then decided to turn it back on and the 1st screen I saw was the normal screen (Black background, white text) that said Samsung Galaxy-Q SGH-T589. The next screen was the regular animated thing that shows stuff from my provider (Fido - Canada) after that it would normally go to the home screen, but in this case it went to a black screen that had Samsung written at the top and would glow white and blue. It never got off that screen no matter how long I waited.
So I first tried to pull the battery out and put it back in and restart the phone.. Same issue. I then tried to do a hard reset. Same issue. (It didn't clear the cache during the rest. got an "unknown error")
Does anyone know what the problem can be or how to fix this?
And yes, I am planning to take it in to get sent back to get myself a new one assuming I can't actually fix this.
Thanx
Al

hmm.. maybe I should have put this in one of the Android forum.

[Q] Reddish Screen [ICS 4.0.3 stock]

When I turned on my Nexus S i9020 yesterday all greyish colors where red. Directly after turning it on, the lock and the google writing where white as usual, but after about 2 second it got a red complexion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy5NkFrQDuA
I tried to make a screenshot of my homescreen, but in the jpg the red complexion has vanished and it looked as usual.
I'm running ICS 4.0.3 stock and did the update back in december.
Removing the battery for a minute didn't help, but after turning it off and on again several times it was back to normal. Today I got low on battery and turned it off. When I turned it on again at home the reddish screen was back.
Any thoughts on this?
This problem might be similar http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092930
UPDATE: Managed to get the screen back to normal with the off/on trick, after turning it off and on again the screen was green only, there after blue only followed by greenish/blue.
Just a thought : you could backup all your data and try to re-flash your rom and see if it's a software or hardware issue.
cheers
I reinstalled the stock ICS and whiped all data on the phone, but it didn't solved the issue.
I contacted Samsung and they told me to send it to one of their service partners. I'm a bit affraid that they send me an i9023 back when they can't rapair it, due to the non existence of the OLED version in Germany.
I got my phone back today. They replaced (at least) the whole screen and installed Android 2.3.1 Everthing is back to normal again and it was covered by the 2 Year warranty!

[Q] Screen Problem

hey guys, i've bought an new tf300t for me. it went extreamly good and i'm very impressed. the first day went well, I only installed a few apps, tested them until the battary was empty for the first time, so I charged it during the night (in power-off mode). The next day, as I took my new tablet and pushed the power button, a thin (1 pixel width) line appeared on the screen. It went from the left to the right edge and has benn on the screen the whole time. Nothing did work, I reseted it, made a factory reset, nothing worked
Do I really have to send it back because of the hardware malfunctino or is there any other sultion?
Thanks for every answer!!!
If you are on the latest firmware .30 and you still have this line you should exchange it for a new one.

i didn't even root it, nor there wasn't any custom rom... it passed out on the second day of useage.

Galaxy S6 Experience/Problems

Hey guys,
This S6 i am using right now is my 2nd.
So lets first start with the first 1 i had before. ( ill also check if i have some pictures to show you guys.)
I bought my Galaxy S6 64GB Instead a 32GB, cause i saw a demo S6 32GB with 20GB Free space only.
When i opened the box, the first thing i saw was the sim card tray had some manufacture problems. It was not proccesed properly.
For me it was not a big problem, i inserted my simcard and turned on the S6.
I liked the S6. Camera : nothing to complain about, the best cam i ever saw on a smartphone.
No Lag, Fast and beautiful display.
A real premium phone.
I missed my Note 4 but i got used to the S6 after some days.
I Looked at the phone from the side and i saw that the glass was not in 1 line with the frame/body of the S6. hmmm. Than i also saw that the screen was not glued properly and was even moving when pressing on the glass. At the right corner ( back button) , the glass was deeper in the body and at the left side the glass was on same height.
At the back of the phone, the glass had a scratch but it was inside of the glass. How is that possible, i was asking myself...
I was a bit dissapointed , called the phoneshop and i could trade it for another one. The same day before i went to the shop, the Galaxy S6 died suddenly. I tried all solutions on forums/internet and non helped. Even the power button and the volume down for more than 7 seconds, also i tried the recovery mode, no action. after that i plugged the phone on the charger and the phone was not even responding, no Led nor the charging screen.
After some hours i tried to hold the power button for more than 2 minutes and in a sudden the phone turned on.
i couldnt belief it.
I brought the S6 to the shop and got another one.
The Other Galaxy S6: No external defects. Happy with it.
2 days ago the phone automatically turned off and with the power button the phone couldnt go on. I tried the Power button and the volume down for 7 seconds and the phone was on but after the samsung logo the phone vibrated and than was off again. I tried repeating it but i couldnt get the phone working. Samsung logo and a short vibrate and the phone was off.
I tried to get it on with the same method from above and than i tried to go into recovery and wiped the cache. It restarted but still it turned off at the samsung logo.
I went into download mode and wanted to flash another firmware but i didnt tried it cause i was afraid to trip knox and i turned the phone off and on and it worked after that.
I am afraid that it will happen again. Some of you with the same problems?
Solutions?
Mine has somewhat the same assembly issue in the right bottom corner. Doesn't really bother me though, and as far is I can see from disassembly videos on eg ifixit, the front and back is just placed manually in the aluframe with gule sticking to it. I can also move the front screen a little when I press it right.

Color lines on screen/ Turn off randomly / Impossible to enable wifi - Samsung GS6

I bought a Samsung Galaxy s6 last month. After a week of use I noticed few problems. Firstly, my phone used to turn off by itself (it was on the stock rom ) the problems appeared when I update to the latest android version ( 5.1.1 ). After one week every problem has disappeared and it was perfect.
But now, one month after buying it, new problems came. Color lines appears sometimes on the screen ( not everytime ) and then all the screen has changing colors and showing lines everywhere. To resolve that, i've just to turn off the screen and turn it on and everything goes alright but... after minutes, the phone turns off by itself and its very complicated to make it turns on. When I finally turns it on, I see again these lines and I can't turn on wifi and the camera.
It has never felt in the ground or in the water, so I don't think it's an hardware issue.. So I tried to flash a custom rom on it " XtreStolite-2.0 Odex.. " And the problems are still here.. I don't know what to do since I used all my small knowledge..
Hope someone will help me.
Thank you everyone.

Experience with Note Edge Developing Green Band on Bottom of Screen

I had an unusual problem develop with my edge screen. A green band about one inch thick showed up on the bottom of my screen. It probably had an opacity of about 80%, you could still see the screen and icons underneath it and the touch screen worked properly, but the band appeared on my home screen and every other screen. At first when I did a soft reset, it went away for a while but always came back, and eventually, it was there permanently. Thinking, I downloaded something that was causing the problem, I backed up my phone and did a factory reset, but that did not correct the problem. I took it into the AT&T store and the tech did a different kind of reset where he plugged the phone into the computer, said it was a deeper type of reset, but the band still did not go away. Luckily, I live in a city with a large Samsung repair facility so I took it there. I arrived there at 4:30 pm, the girl at the front desk looked at it and called a tech in the back to describe the problem. She said they will fix it for free, come back at 6:30 pm that same day and it would be ready. It was ready on time and fixed, and I only had to be without my phone for 2 1/2 hours. I never asked what the problem was or how they fixed it, because well I believe to "never look a gift horse in the mouth". I came away with two things from this experience. One, it is great to live in the same city where Samsung has a repair center and, two, every year or so it is really helpful to the performance of your phone to do a factory reset, my phone is running much faster and the battery life is a lot better.
